Use it! If you use it twice a day it will prevent red acne. This is the only drug I've seen do this. Doesn't seem to affect comedones/blackheads though or oiliness. Sometimes if I don't apply it to my whole face at night and see a blemish I spot-treat it with the klaron and in the moring I am perfectly clear. I know there are advertisements that claim some OTC drugs stop a zit in their tracks, but Klaron really does this better than anything else. It really is amazing stuff.

It is amazing!!!!Suffered from Acne since I was 12, used all known and unknown meds and nothing helped. After 1 month my skin cleared and now - 6 months later, it looks amazing. Whish I had discovered it earlier, so I wouldn`t have scars. Doesn`t matter how much it costs - because it works!!! God knows I spent a lot more on meds that don`t work and only dissapoint:(Thats all I can say.

I started putting carmol scalp treatment lotion (active ingrediant 10% Sulfacetamide Sodium) on my popped zits to help them heal and I was amazed at how much faster they would clear up. After one day, the red scar was gone, or at least shrunken and no longer irritated. This is like a wonder drug!!!

The Canadian version of sodium sulfacetamide is Sulfacet-R, which is Klaron + sulfur. My insurance covered it so i paid $10. Last week, 6 big cysts on my chin, all in a row. This week, chin is clear as day. Since quitting birth control pills 2 months ago, my chin has been constantly breaking out in hormonal cysts. Nothing OTC has helped so i resorted to seeing the doctor after checking out reviews here. I'm so glad I got Sulfacet-R. It is a lifesaver. Of course the sulfur dries out my skin a little but i would rather have dry skin which can be taken care of by moisturizer, than red, painful cysts. I'm giving it 4 stars because i haven't been using it long enough to see whether the effects will wear off on me, but for now, it is GREAT!!!

Klaron works. I have very mild/moderate acne with the occasional breakout here and there. However, I do have some annoying scars/red marks from Tazorac and part meds. I think Klaron is very soothing, but at the same time, I really never noticed any great result while on it. Klaron never reduced the scars/red marks, but it did prevent future breakouts, since I would rarely get new acne. When I put it on in the mornings it would leave my skin reddish and tight. However, putting it on at night, I would wake up in the morning with very nice looking skin. Now, I take 10g B5, Vitamin A, C, E, Zinc, Biotion, B-Complex, Multi Vitamin, and 200mg Minocin. I've been doing this for a month now and although it sounds like a lot of vitamins, once you start clearing up (which I am), you can start reducing the doses until you find an effective maintainence dose. Klaron is nice, though, and I would recommend it to people with sensitive skin.

I tried EVERYTHING to no avail. Finally, my Dermatologist suggested Novacet lotion. My insurance would only pay for the "generic equivalent", but it still has the same active ingredients.... Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfur 5% and is in "lotion" form. I just wash my face gently with Ivory soap and then put a thin layer of this stuff on my face before bed, and wow. It has cleared my face PERFECTLY. Best stuff ever. Try it, you'll thank me.

I found out about this medicine on this site and decided to try it. It works very well! There are no side effects that I've noticed, and it has definitely helped clear up my skin. I use it twice a day after washing my face. I added it to my regimen of using a low dose of Retin-A once per day, and it has made a big difference. I would recommend it highly. I saw results quickly. I normally wouldn't post anything on a board like this, but I wanted to help other people who need advice like I did. My doctor didn't know anything about acne medication and wanted to prescribe Accutane for my very moderate case of acne until I requested this medicine.

I used it for months and it definitely helped at least slightly...no miracle drug though. It stopped working after a few months, though, but it was definitely pleasant to use so I used it a little while after it stopped working anyway.

This is the best topical antibiotic I've tried. It smells nice, it feels comfortable when you put it on, and I notice it helps decrease inflammation a lot in the lesions. I would recommend this opposed to topical clindamycin/ b.p. solutions. You really should try it. It has pretty good ratings I think for this board.
