Since there aren't that many posts about the Aramis Laser, I will let you all know how my treatments are going. I am curently going to Celibre and had my second treatment about a week ago. My first treatment was the Yag Laser. After a week from the first treatment, my acne got worse. I have mild to severe acne and I started to get cystic acne all over which I haven't had in a while. The doctor told me that it happens to most of the patients initially.
After about a month before my second treatment, my acne started to finally calm down.

Then came the second treatment with the Aramis laser. I still have active acne but nothing like what happened after first treatment. My skin is really clearing up. Still have the scars because of initial break out but no cystic acne. It's really working. I still have 4 more treatments and if needed they will continue to do as much as I need at no cost after that.

So far I am pleased with the results that I am getting.

I am from London and had Smoothbeam Treatments at LaDerma in CA. So, far have had 3 treatments 2 weeks appart and can say that they have really helped my Acne Scarring. I dont have much active Acne as I had a course of Accutane a few years ago, and it worked really well, but it works great for scarring. It does take time though as it Targets a very deep layer od skin to promote collagen. Six months ago I had Relaslyne fillers done but now feel I do not need them. I am going back for further treatment.

Speaking from a couple years of experience with both Vbeam and Sbeam (ive probably gone once a month for 2 years now);

smoothbeam will smooth over scars (hence the name) but will not completely remove ALL of them...but most of them. Smaller scars can be eliminated and medium to larger ones will become less and less apparent with each treatment (as the treatments are cumulative, the more you go the better your face will look). Sbeam is also good at preventing future breakouts and reducing oil/tightening skin. It wont completely elimate whiteheads but it will reduce the amount you get (and the size).

Vbeam is excellent for getting red of flush/red and is also cumulative.

Basically sbeam/vbeam combo works very well but it just takes a lot of treatments depending on your scar depth/type. If you got the money, go 1 a month for a year and you should be quite happy with the results.

For people with more severe/complicated scarring, look into surgery and/or the fraxel laser. ***AND MAKE SURE THE DOC DOING THE PROCEDURE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING...DO BACKGROUND CHECKS...DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THE INSTITUTION***

I just finished my 8th smoothbeam treatment and my acne is now comletely gone. For the first time in 6 years, I can say I am acne free!

I must admit, in the beginning the laser did cause me to break out more, and I was very discouraged. But my dermatologist told me to be patient, as it is like this for everybody. After the third treatment, I started to see great results. Now, my skin isn't oily at all, and I no longer have to wash my face with harsh products. Just soap and water, and no breakouts! My scarring has even improved greatly, and will continue to--as they tell me--over the next few months.

My advice is... be patient. I had severe cystic/nodular acne, and my dermatologist told me it might take as many as 12 treatments to cure the problem! Luckily, it was nearly half that many... but far more than two or three are necessary for good results. Also, in conjunction with the laser therapy, I use Proactiv, had a series of glycolic (chemical) peels, and 3 acne facials. The laser wont work by itself, it requires work from all angles. I haven't spent more than $2000 total, and for that price, I think it is well worth it for beautiful, nearly flawless skin!

I started Smoothbeam and after the second treatment, I decided to be done with it. My acne got way worse after the first treatment with huge cysts and the whole nine yards. My doctor told me this sometimes happens after the first treatment since all the gunk is coming to the surface. So, I decided to stick around for the second treatment, and same thing only worse! So, no more for me...not at $100.00 a pop. I was actually happier with the acne I had before the treatments. It may work very well for some people, but definitely not for me.

I just got my first treatment of smoothbeam about a week ago. One week later, I started breaking out horribly with cysts and tiny papules all over my face. I never used to get papules anywhere. I'd only get a few cysts per a month. The smoothbeam not only did not do any good for my scars, it has caused more even more acne

I have had acne since 15 years of age (I am 27). I have tried Accutane (which does not not despite popular myth work for everbody) twice (two rounds). It is terrible for your body and while it does help many people, the risk for it not to have worked was not worth it to me: although its too late now as I have done it.
To give you an idea of my type: I was moderate to severe on the acne scale, esp. active about a week before my periods. I am a very healthy eater, 5'8 and 125 pounds. Completely on target for proper body fat etc. I have washed pillow cases, my face, hair etc. meticulously...Nothing worked wonders, the best natural remedies were/are water and Tea Tree soaps did offer some relief compared to hyped store brands.
Recently: I tried Smoothbeam. It has been hands down the most effective dermotologic procedure. It is PAINFUL but only while it is happening. In 2 treatments the activity on my chest and back cleared. I have done 4 on my face and some spots have cleared completely while more stubborn ones are catching up. I am following up on my face with the Blue Light Treatment...it is killing hte activity that is left over. While the Smoothbeam has changed the glands to prevent future breakouts. While time consuming, they are side effect free and effective.
I encourage tireless research and taking doctors up on FREE consults...I wouldn't pay to speak to someone: most will assist at no cost.

I have had bad acne since my freshman year in high school. I have tried all the topicals and oral medication just short of accutane (my dermatologist fears accutane for some reason). I have had 5 smoothbeam treatments about 3 months ago I was done with them. You will not notice the results right away, but a month or two after the last treatment, I started noticing that I wasn't breaking out nearly as much, and my skin was much smoother. This is by no means a miracle worker, but it seems to be doing something, which is a plus. My acne isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, no more huge painful cysts that last for months. Maybe a few mild breakouts here and there. Reccomended, but I have seen the results of accutane, and would probably reccomend that over this anyday.

I am 25. I've had moderate to severe acne since age 15. Like many who suffer from persistant acne, I've tried several treatments; topicals, pills, peels, etc.. I recently heard about Candela's Smoothbeam Laser & hoped for the best, of course. Well, I have undergone 3 of 4 treatments so far, 4 weeks apart. After each treatment, my face seems to break out even worse about two weeks after each treatment. It breaks out horribly, like a bubbling cauldren, it hurts. And it is depresses the hopes I had for the treatment. I don't know if the treatment is helping to extract the acne from beneath the skin or if it's just worsening. I'm not sure if this treatment is good or bad yet. So far, it has been a horrible experience. I just hope so much that the pain of the procedure, the pain of the cost, the emotional pain and pain of the horrible breakouts is all worth it.. If not, I will have to go back to tanning, that seemed to keep it under control pretty good. Or maybe try Accutane, which I was hoping to avoid ;-( Good luck to all. Will keep you posted, for sure.
