Pros natural, easy to use, dries out acne, doesn't over dry, clears blemishes quickly, inexpensive, effective
Cons need occasional moisturizer, but nothing that can't be solved with an application of moisturizer
Bottom line After spending a couple of days at the beach this past weekend, my face has significantly cleared up so after coming home I decided that I would try to simulate the ocean water with sea salt I found in my cabinets. I made a mixture of sea salt and water which I use as an astringent three times a day and right before I go to bed. In the mornings, I take a pinch of salt and mix a couple of drops of water in the palm of my hand and gently apply to my face. This become a more concentrated version of the astringent. I leave this on for a couple of minutes. Ever since the beach, my face has been consistently cleaner than ever before, not counting those lucky hours before just another acne breakout.

Pros Exfoliates skin; makes it smoother and less bumpy.
Cons It might burn if you scrub harshly, have severe acne, or just sensitive skin in general.
Bottom line It's very good at cleaning your skin and it keeps the whiteheads and blackheads at bay.

One table spoon of salt water with just enough water to get it all wet and lather it on your face and leave it on for about 1.5-2 minutes. Maybe try to scrub it in gently, but we don't want any damaged pores!

Pros Clears acne, brings acne to a head, gets rid of blackheads and whiteheads too, helps with peeling skin, soothing.
Cons None!
Bottom line I used it by adding salt water to my face steaming water and then steamed my face for 15 minutes after washing my face with Olay Gentle Face Wash. Then I would pop my acne after it had came to a head, steamed for 5 more minutes, dried my face, and covered my entire face with my tretinoin cream. The steaming caused my to sweat but it is good sweat and doesn't clog your pores. I did this every night. In the morning I only washed my face with a gentle cleanser and used a moisturizer so I wouldn't have too dry skin. THIS WORKS. I've tried Proactive, Acne Free, Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Oral Antiobotics, Prescription Topical Creams, drinking green tea, natural masks, natural exfoliators, EVERYTHING. THIS WORKS. It has cleared almost ALL of my acne in THREE days.

Pros The only thing to have worked on a very problematic area of my skin. Have barely had any pimple in that area since bathing face in sea salt for over 3 months,
Cons Beware that while it helped clear one part of my face it caused breakouts on my cheeks which were previously clear.

Pros cheap, easy, convenient
Cons my skin gets irritated for about 30 min. - 1hr after application
Bottom line It works. Skin feels soft, supple, non-oily, and looks smoother. It won't rid of your acne completely, but is nice to add to your regimen.

Pros It's cheap, quick working, and gets rid of blackheads and smooths skin quickly.
Cons None
Bottom line It's Simple. Just mix some Sea Salt (not table salt, it contains iodide) with some warm water. Then rinse your face with the salt water about 10 times. Then pat it dry with a towel. I have really dry and pimple infested skin, and it made my skin soft, smooth, moisturized, and got rid of my blackheads practically overnight! I definatly recommend using this once in the morning and once in the night!

Pros smoother skin, drier. cheap product
Cons none really
Bottom line I first came across the healing effects of sea salt when I went scuba diving in Egypt's Red Sea. When I sat in the sun afterwards, all the salt was left on my skin so I rubbed it all over and my skin was so soft! And the pimples were nearly gone in a few days. So I defo recommend trying this.

Yeah don't use table salt cuz it has iodine, and apparently that aggravates pimples.
