I absolutely cannot believe it - your product and regimen work!

I say that I cannot believe it because I have tried so many different topical and oral treatments to get my acne under control, and nothing has worked. My acne began in my 20's after stopping the birth control pill, so it is definitely "hormonal" acne. I get acne all over my face and chest along with huge cysts that are painful, embarrassing, and seemingly impossible to treat or prevent. Topical treatments are so harsh they destroy my skin (red, itchy, flaky, thin skin) or they are effective for a month or two, then the acne comes back. After trying drugstore brands, then Proactive, then Murad, and countless topical treatments in between, I found your website. I ordered thinking that I might have results, but they would only last a short while.

Since religiously using the Regimen and your cleanser, benzoyl peroxide, and lotion, I have not had one large cyst on my face! I felt a cyst coming on a couple of days ago and it has never developed - the redness and inflammation are subsiding. The blackheads that are ever-present around my nose and under my lip are vanishing! My red, flaky, itchy forehead is now smooth and moisturized, even while using BP on that area!

Speaking of moisturizer, let's talk about yours. I was an absolute oil slick before your products. My skin was so oily that I had to add "mattifying" products to my regime, which became costly and was still ineffective. After a few hours, I would blot my skin with paper towels each time I used the restroom. The friction was probably exacerbating my irritated skin, and the oil always came right back. I know that you should moisturize oily skin and I used what I thought were good, non-comedegenic lotions. I was so skeptical about the Jojoba oil used in your lotion. But my skin hasn't looked this healthy since I was a child! I literally cannot believe the results.

Without trying to sound too corny, I would like to take this opportunity to say that, quite simply: you have saved my life!
Yes, it is true. I am 40-year-old English male living in Hua Hin, Thailand for the last 3 and a half years years and have suffered from bad acne and extremely oily skin since I was 19-years-old. I had tried everything from topical lotions like Quinoderm to tablets like Oxytetracycline to sun machine treatments: nothing worked - apart from Roaccutane. But, that was just too hardcore and was very detrimental to my body so i decided to stop it.
So, as I was about to give up, I came across your website by chance. I saw the Regimen and thought: why not?
The rest is history. Your Regimen works very well. My acne is now minimal to zero and, although my very oily skin is still the same, the spots are gone. I am very happy and now I am no loger scared to look into a mirror!
The heat and humidity here is incredible and relentless so oily skin is a small price to pay for living here.

I’ve had mild to moderate acne for 10 years now have tried just about every acne treatment. Around ‘02 I found acne.org and started following The Regimen; somewhat. I typically used ProActive BP, and if I used a moisturizer I used a “natural” one. I could never apply the full amount of BP that Dan recommended without burning my face and causing flaking, but The Regimen was so far the best treatment. I continued like this with varying success until 2005 when I decided to go full force with The Regimen. After a few weeks my skin was almost completely clear, but now I had burning red skin and intense flaking. I couldn’t even smile or laugh because my face felt so stiff. I was still using “natural” moisturizers throughout the day mostly to hide the huge flakes. At this point in my life these side effects were better than having acne, but after a few months I couldn’t handle it anymore and went back to using smaller amounts of BP and the acne came back. By October of 2007 I was having pretty bad breakouts and once again went looking for cures so I decided to try the new DK cleanser and moisturizer. I immediately noticed a huge difference from using Dan’s cleanser compared to my soap bars, but the main difference was the moisturizer. I realized then that using a moisturizer is just as important as using Benzoyl Peroxide. I’m certain that adding Dan’s moisturizer to my daily skin care has cleared my acne. On top of that my overall complexion is much better and my skin is very soft and even. For 6 months now I’ve been able to focus on living my life without letting acne control my decisions. I want to thank Dan for helping me so very much by creating an informative website and creating the best (and vegan) acne products available. Hopefully in the future we can find the cause of acne and prevent it so that we don’t have to cover our faces with benzoyl peroxide everyday (I’ll still keep using the moisturizer though).

I really have to say thank you.

I am 42 and have NEVER been able to depend on an acne free day since I was about 12. What a drag. I have tried MANY different products, without consistently good results. I have been using your products since August, and what an amazing difference.

It is the most freeing feeling to get up in the morning, and be confident that my skin is going to be clear. I don't have that dread of looking in the mirror wondering what new zit has cropped up while I slept. I feel so much better.

You know, it's hard to believe almost anything about acne nowadays. Between TV, magazines, and the internet, everyone has their miracle cure, from Accutane to egg whites to Desquam-X.

Thankfully, my my acne was never as bad as yours, Dan. But I did have a big bag of acne medications I've tried over the years, and none of them really worked. At one point, my skin was so freakin' dry that opening my mouth to put food in it would my shirt kinda white from skin flakes!

Anyways, my skin got better after Accutane, but not completely. Touching my skin in one spot would cause a zit in that exact spot the next day. Great, huh?

My ex-girlfriend told to check out your site, and I did. I told myself, "What do I have to lose? At the very least I can fill up my bag o' acne meds a little more and laugh."

I was surprised to find your regimen WORKS! WOW. I was thrilled, and so excited to tell everyone.

The only other thing I wanna say is that dermatologists piss me off. Why don't more of them know about this kind of treatment? My freakin' dermatologist was useless (kinda sounds like some of yours), just mentioning moisturizing in passing. Damn him.

Dan, Thank you thank you, Your ance regimen works!! I have suffered with acne for years. I started your regimen about two weeks ago and my face is so clear. I can't remember the last time when my face was this clear. I no longer hide from mirrors. I would like to ask you a question. When I put on the Purpose moisture some of the dry skin is comming off . I don't mind it becouse it is making the scars shallow and some have gone away. My question is has this happened to anyone else using your regimen? My daughter suffered from horrible back acne which covered her entire back. While her face was spared from only the occasional breakout- she had very severe cystic acne on her back. I have used everything for her...short of going on Accutane which I did not feel comfortable using for her. We have also been to numerous doctors with no results.
