The Regimen success stories

I wanted to share my success story, its been long overdue. I'm 22 years old and have been using the regime since April 2005, I wish I had the Regimen when I was thirteen. My acne condition, has changed over the years, the last few years I've had acne all over my face, though strangely I couldn't classify it as a certain type as the pimples were very small, each pore was inflamed. Most acne products are meant for a small area, however I needed something for my entire face.

With some will power I decided to give the regime three months. When I was 14 I used accutane for three months and it cleared my skin, though it came back over the years, even after repeat programs of accutane. So I bought a couple tubes of the BP gel as well as Cetaphil sensitive mositure lotion. After using the BP and Cetaphil Gel, my face looked awful, red, swollen and greasy looking, but I persisted, a couple weeks later I read on the message board that people were having problems with cetaphil sensitive moisture lotion, so I stopped using cetaphil, and my face was looking way better, but I still had discomfort with dryness. For the dryness I ended up trying a no name brand of skin cream, and it actually worked really well, took forever to soak in (20 minutes), however it really made my skin feel great, and didn't look greasy at all. Well I'm not sure how long it all took, but by three-month mark, my skin was acne free, and my large pores actually closed, which I didn't think would happen. Some things I did differently; I used an electric razor, had showers in the evening, and I don't wash my skin with soap (too drying, even the stuff they use for newborns). Though just recently I started using razors (my skin now clear), I love the closer shave.

How do I know I just haven't out grown it, right before moving to Scotland I had waited until I was almost out of bp gel to order. I ran out and the stress of the move caused me to break out terribly. I bought the neutrogena stuff, which in my own opinion is awful but works, luckily my bp gel came a few days after using neutrogena before I was to leave, and it took only a week to clear up.

Today, I use the bp gel twice a day and I don't have to use the moisturizer any more. What a great acne solution, this has really helped my self-image, I always joke, that the Regimen should be a religion as it is life changing.

I've had acne for the past decade, and until following your regimine, everything I tried was essentially futile. Admittedly I was pretty skeptical when I was about 2 weeks into the regimine, and I was still having some minor breakouts. However, with some patience and the information on your site, I totally halted my acne dead in its tracks after about 4 weeks. Your site is fantastic. Here is my advice to anyone who is determined to eliminate acne, based on what I've learned:

Use Dan's regimine, exactly how he tells you to. If your face feels excessively hot, just use it once a day for a couple of days.

Get 30-40 mg of Zinc daily! Zince fights infection and has been shown to reduce acne.

Eat a minimal amount of salty food/seafood! If you are ingesting too much Iodine, it will escape your body through your pores. Essentially, ingesting too much Iodine WILL exacerbate your acne problem, because you WILL have clogged pores. And you don't want clogged pores. If you are taking a multivitamin, make sure it has LITTLE OR NO Iodine in it. You probably get more than enough Iodine anyway from salty foods and sea foods.

One more tip--Change your pillow case every other night or so. Collection of oil on your pillow case can exacerbate your acne problem, if you are rubbing your face into it every night. Also, try to sleep ON YOUR BACK, instead of on your side, so you aren't rubbing your face into a big, gross, oily pillow.

If you follow my tips, your acne problem WILL get better. Good luck!

I've been meaning to write this email for a few months now, to say thank you for helping me clear my skin!

I came upon your website this summer, while searching for information about the bacteria that cause acne.

I had been on Proactive for a couple of months prior, but rather than clear skin, it only made my face dry, flaky, inflamed and uncomfortable.

I never really had trouble-skin until I turned 18; I graduated from high school a semester early, and before going to University, I got a job at a department store working in cosmetics. I was expected to wear heavy foundation and makeup every day to maintain a professional appearance for customers, but my skin erupted and nothing I tried seemed to help it. I was really distraught, and my Dad was worried about the acne leaving permanent scars on my face.

I had given up on the idea of clear skin, thinking even when I grew out of it I'd have ugly reminders - that is, until I watched your videos, read all of the FAQs and FYIs, and decided to try what you recommended. Within a month people were complimenting me on how good my skin was looking, and now, three months later, I am completely pimple-free! It actually worked so well that I don't even need my BP any more, I just gentle-cleanse, moisturize, and go! My skin is better than it ever was, and I definitely don't need makeup any more!

I am so thankful for www.acne.org; the detailed information and routine descriptions are awesome! I am so happy I did it, and I have recommended the site to many others as well, including people I used to work with, old customers, and my friends and brothers, too!

Having clear skin has given me confidence in my first year at University, and gives me one less thing to stress about!

I just wrote to you a little over a week ago, saying 'thanks' for having such a great website for all of us. I never, ever imagined that your regimen would work INSTANTLY the way it has for me. It's incredible. For 20 years I've tried so many types of medications and herbs and have finally found the solution to the problem. Thanks for caring enough about others enough to put the info out on the internet! I'll always be indebted to you.

I've had moderate acne for years, but *knock on wood*, Dan's Regimen has pretty much cleared me up! This is my third month using the Regimen, and the only time I get any pimples is right before my period, when I'll get two or three, but they are much smaller and disappear in a few days, when before the Regimen I broke out almost every day with a new pimple or two that took weeks to completely clear and left red marks.

I'm just waiting now for all my red marks to continue dissappearing (which they do, despite what some people say, just give it a few months and they will go away!)

It's so simple, it seems unbelievable, but give it a try. What do you have to lose, $15? I think unless you have pretty bad acne, Dan's Regimen will give you much clearer skin in just a few months.

(I should mention, that I don't even follow it that closely anymore. After about a month, I stopped getting breakouts, so I tried just applying at night rather than twice a day. It's worked fine, I still don't get breakouts, and now I only have to worry about applying BP before bed. So my advice to everyone is start out following exactly, but once your acne begins to clear up, experiment and decide exactly what will work for you. Like the amount of BP Dan shows is probably 10 times the amount I use, but I only break out on two parts of my face. Just customize the Regimen for you.)

First off I just want to say that you have done an awesome thing with this website and sharing your knowledge, along with creating and providing the EXCELLENT products. My treatment history is strikingly similar to yours, including acne returning after accutane. Even took a second course.

I actually discovered years ago that proactive cleared me up and was a long time user. That was until I came across your site and started using your products and following your advice. My skin went from clear to AMAZINGLY clear. And for way less $$! Way to go.

For reasons I still don't understand, I recently decided to give retin a micro a shot. Guess I was just so used to being acne free, and wanted to see what would happen. What a mistake. Stuck with it for a few months, but alas, I'm back on the Regimen. Learned my lesson.

Keep up the good work, and please NEVER stop selling your products! They are absolutely the best anywhere..

I have had acne since I was 12 years old. Big, red and sore bumps in my pale skin. I realized just a few months ago that you couldn’t see my real face color anymore because of all the scars. I have literally tried everything except going to the doctor to get a prescription of pills. I have struggled for 5 years, and it wasn´t until 4 weeks ago that I found out about acne.org. For years I have been scrubbing my face, used alcohol to soak my face in and used so many strong chemicals that promise to take away my acne after a month. Yeah, right...

About 4 weeks ago I was searching about a new acne treatment, and I stumbled over this website. I was stuck by the computer the whole day, reading and learning more about acne than ever. I thought I had to try this out, my problem couldn´t get any worse than it already was. So I did my research on Swedish pharmacy cleansers and so on that was gentle to the skin. In Sweden we only have benzoyl peroxide in 5%, but I figure I could work it out anyway with only using it once a day. So now, after going by the regimen for a month, I could not have been any happier. My skin is clear! I get a few pimples now and then, but not like before. And because of the gentle products I use, and because of the gentle washing and drying with a towel, my scars isn´t as red as before, and I actually have my real color again instead of all the redness!

I am so happy and proud and the regimen really works. No words can actually describe how good it feels to feel beautiful again.
