Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar Reviews

This is a great product. I've tried Cetaphil gel and it never seems to leave my face feeling clean. The 6 oz. bar lasts forever. I mean, I'm still using the same bar after two months and it probably will last another two months. It's incredibly affordable too.

I've been using this soap consistently for 6 years, recommended by my dermatologist, and I really like it. I have oily skin. This soap does NOT make me feel overly-dry. Rather, my skin feels terrific, especially right after I use it. I wish I could keep that clean feeling all day long, but of course, those oil glands keep working throughout the day.
It smells citrusy and very pleasant--especially when you open the package the first time. The smell is not too feminine for guys either--it's a very gender-neutral though pleasant smell. The best part about this soap is that, in the end, it is very affordable because it lasts forever and ever. I wet the bar and rub it in my hands just a couple times and that's plenty of "soapiness" to wash my whole face. You don't need any more than that. If you keep turning the bar over and over in your hands to try to lather up better, you're just wasting extra soap that you don't need. A tiny bit does the job perfectly. It also rinses fresh and clean. I've tried the Purpose liquid facial cleanser also but I found that it does not lather up as nicely on your face and it did not feel like it rinsed clean. My face felt slippery even after rinsing. Maybe some of the people who thought the Purpose bar was too drying would prefer the Purpose liquid for this reason, but with my very oily skin, I prefer the bar. Also the bar is cheaper than the liquid. Here's another tip: the large size bar (6 oz) is more economical in price per ounce than the smaller bar, so I buy the large bar and then cut it in half with a butter knife--once you dig into it, it splits in half pretty easily. This creates two smaller bars that fit in my hands better. I put one of these half-bars in a ziplock bag and put it back in the box for later. Then I put the other half-bar in my soap dish--turned sidewise, it fits perfectly in a standard-size, rectangular, travel/closeable soap container, which it will not do if left as one large bar.

I love this soap! I have used it off and on even before beginning the regimen. It is great at removing all makeup and surface oil. I have very oily skin, so I need a cleansing bar that packs a punch yet is still gentle enough not to irritate my skin. This works perfectly! If you have oily skin, you have to try this! If you have dry skin, you might want to find another option as this may be too drying.

I have tried all of the cleansers listed in the supply page, and then some. I must say this is my favorite out of everything I have ever used. At first I thought it would be too "basic" as the name implies, but it really is the best. It not only helped to cleanse my face, it actually made my skin look better. It did not dry my skin out as others have said. Just trust me, get this!!

its sooo gentle and takes away oil and makes my skin feel really clean, it doesnt fix breakouts but its a good cleanser

Well, it kinda worked, but it mostly dried me out and made my skin really red, and i still had whiteheads and blackheads, i don't really reccomend it, but it's extremely cheap, like under 5 bucks, so if you have really oily akin that doesnt dry easily you could give it a try.

I have been using this soap with Neutrogena on the spot and Fruit of the Earth aloe gel and it cleared me up very well. This soap dried out my pimples within 4 days of use.

it a great cleanser but it leaves your skin very very dry.
