I've had punch floats done on ice pick scarring. It's a great treatment/procedure.

The results are great! Almost unnoticeable, especially in combination with dermabrasion.

I had a small hole above my lip from a zit plug. The punch and suture technique closed the hole leaving only a tiny line which disappeared over time. A little bit of scar tissue formed at the top and bottom of suture - under the skin. I can feel the scar tissue under the skin, but it is not noticeable to the eye - which I will take any day before a visible "hole". Great technique!

It made my scars worse. I feel like I went to a quack.

This treatment does not work!! It left much larger craters on my face. You cannot be sure how well your skin will heal! After all, we do have scars don't we??

I had 21 punch floats with Dr. John Yarborough Jr. in New Orleans, Louisiana. (his phone: 504-897-5899).

This to date, has been the absolute best thing I have ever done for my acne scarring. The procedure didn't perfect all of them, but completely removed some. I ranged in size from 1mm to 4mm. Oddly, the larger ones seemed to have responded better for me. All have been improved if not removed completely except for 2 which appear as though nothing was ever done to them. These are very small ones and I expect dermabrasion to help with those. I am scheduled to do a full face dermabrasion in 3 weeks. Dr. Y strongly recommends full face dermabrasion 4-6 weeks following punch floats.

I had the punch technique done about 7 months ago and can't find any sign of having done it. It works wonders.

The scar become more dented after excision. If i can turn back the time , i will not do excision because it made my scars more dented and bigger not only a line but a crater..

Deep scars of small diameter can be punch excised and sutured closed. Deep scars of moderate diameter can be punch elevated. Very effective treatment, however less than perfect results may arise when trying to flatten down punch sites flush with surrounding skin due to the precision required as per Dermabrasion and Laser.

In 1993 I had several ice pick scars punch grafted. The procedure worked like a dream. I did have to have the area dermabraded over to smooth the surface. I am scheduled on 8/31 for punch floats to treat my remaing ice picks. I will rate those once I heal.
