Pros: not too expensive, not too harsh, always has worked for me Cons: occasional random pimples (probably from stress) some random dryness, but it's very tolerable for the clear skin i have. Bottom Line: After severe acne and two rounds of Accutane, I gave proactiv a shot. I have never tried Murad or the knock off brands of Proactiv, but I love this product. It has kept my face from being oily and has kept my skin clear. I use it every other day in conjunction with my Purpose bar soap. Pros: makes your face feel more clean than it was Cons: after a while it stops giving results even if you do the steps consistantly,also makes your skin feel cold and oily after a while,so i have to dab my face down with paper towels Bottom Line: works for a while if you stick to it and dont mix the steps up Recommended: Yes Usage: D has used this item for about a month. Pros: Saw an immediate difference in the health of my skin; cleared up acne rather quickly. Left face feeling fresh and clean. Cons: Left skin a little tight because of dryness. When this happened I washed my face once a day and used some moisturizer. Bottom Line: This product is great for hormonal acne. I started using it while I was in college after one side of my face broke out because of intense long-term stress. The whole left side of my face was covered is small, red, painful pimples and acne scars. After using this product for 1-2 weeks, my skin cleared up substantially and the acne scars were minimized - so much so that I was complimented on my skin. After using Proactiv for 5 years, I decided to try other products to save a little money. Surely my acne is not that bad anymore, I thought. Unfortunately, that was a big mistake because those products (Neutrogena being one of them) really irritated my skin and l developed breakouts all over my chin and forehead. Now when people look at me they pause and exclaim, "What happened to your face??" Think I'll be returning to Proactiv very soon . . . Bottom line, if you have severe hormonal acne (high stress or menstrual related) or very oily skin, you should use this product. Recommended: Yes Acne severity: severe Was this comment helpful? Pros: The toner is somewhat pleasant Cons: The service, charging me for a shipment I did not need / order before I even had the trial for three weeks. It made my skin worse than it has ever been and the dryness is making the new breakouts impossible to heal. WORST COMPANY EVER. Bottom Line: I was better off just using soap and dealing with the monthly breakout. Now I have a huge mess and am out 20 bucks for the trial and the 50 bucks for the kit I wasn't even close to needing. I would love to take this scamming down and never see another stupid infomercial ever again. I used the product for years in high school and it didn't help then, I can't believe I was suckered into giving this sh*tty product another shot. Usage: Kristen has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: it cleared up my acne at first Cons: it dried out my skin severely, got acne in places i never had it before. Bottom Line: i used Proactivfor about a month and it seemed to clear it up at first but after a while it severely dried my skin and it was peeling! i had light acne and proactiv took my acne to moderate. i broke out in places i had never had acne before like my cheeks and nose. recently i purchased clinique acne solutions and it is working much better for me! hope this helped!! Pros: pros? what pros? Cons: Makes skin DRY.. makes you break out EVEN MORE! is a WASTE of money! Bottom Line: I had nice skin, but with kickboxing and having vasaline slobbered all over my face before training and fights.. the sweat and vasaline would clog my skin and made me break out a little bit. I tried proactive for 2 weeks.. and holy @#$%.. my face has never looked this bad EVER! i look like a kid who just hit puberity! my forehead is a disaster.. and chin line broke out. My skin go SO DRY that on the 3rd day it was like.. flakey.. i had to switch to my Dove moistureizer. which for $8.99 WORKED! This stuff is crap.. made my situation worse.. and now i have to clear it up another way.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Thanks for ruining my face Proactive.. idiots.. Pros: None Cons: I hate it. It made my skin dry and awfull. It was like all the skin on my face was going to fall off. Bottom Line: DONT GET IT. ITS NOT WORTH IT. i woke up this morning and my skin was literally pealing off. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!! It was like this when i started and it just got worse when i kept saying to myself that it was getting beter. It wasnt at all. My skin was ways better before i started proactive. i regret it. Pros: Proactiv clears up my skin a little bit and makes my skin smooth within a week of use. Cons: You have to use it a couple times for your skin to get use to it I tred it for the first week only once a night.Try it that way too! Bottom Line: You have to be consistent! It dries out your skin so getting help from any moisturizer is helpful. i also see a dermatologist she gave me some pills (monocycline).It's good to talk to your doctor before starting any product he/she may give you a medication to work well with you proativ solution.GOOD LUCK!! Pros: Works for a week or so. Cons: MY SKIN IS SOOOOO DRY AND FLAKY. STILL GET SAME AMOUNT OF ZITS AS I DID BEFORE. SO EXPENSIVE IN CANADA ($90 FOR KIT PLUS $30 FOR MAKEUP REMOVER). Pros: My Freshman year in high school, around Christmans time, my face exploded. I had severe acne on the sides of my face. I got proactive and I was completely clear for about a year. Cons: Summer of my sophomore year I started breaking out a little bit again. I must have started becoming immune to it. from then on I always had a few zits. So I stoped using proactive and not my face is 10 times worse than it was when i never used it. Bottom Line: Works for a little while but if you stop using it your live will be hell.
