Pros: I stopped using birthcontrol (hormones went crazy) and I began to have terrible breakouts that left dark scars. Everyday a new red pimples appeared all of over my face. Started using PROACTIVE and my skin began to clear up within days. Cons: Burning sensation while applying toner/lotion. Skin is clearing but extremely dry. Bottom Line: The product works great, I can over look the burning sensation since the pimples are gone. Maybe this will pass once my skin adjust or finds a balance while using this product. Pros: somewhat cleared skin Cons: skin became very dry and i started getting very deep blackheads Bottom Line: this product dried my skin out so bad that the lotion that came in the kit wasnt enough to moisturize my face. i started to get very bad and deep blackheads all over my face. Now that i have stopped using it my face is worst than it has ever been. Even though,its still not worth using again and having skin like sand paper. Once you start this product it takes along time for your skin to get back to normal. EXPECT MAJOR BREAK OUTS. Recommended: No Usage: Sasha has used this item for about a year. Pros: everything love this product the only thing that has ever worked for me Cons: takes some time to use the ptroduct about 10 min also some of the products runs out faster then the others Bottom Line: i started to use this when i was 16 worked wonders it was the only thing that worked for me! i stoped using it and my face cleared up and stayed that way until i got pregnant so after i had the baby everything broke out again so i tried murad HATED IT! went back to proactive and my face cleared up almost over night! Pros: Managed my acne well Cons: Never completely got rid of it Tad expensive Bottom Line: This product has helped me manage my acne well over the last year or so. Pros: Affordable, great customer service, easy to use, it works if used daily and consistently (as most skin treatments are to be used) Cons: Can be tricky to find the right treatment package Bottom Line: I used the original proactive system for about 2 months, and my skin errupted! I called in to their customer service, and the rep said it was probably purging my skin, but not strong enough to clear everything that came up. So she offered to send me the extra strength kit to try. Amazingly, it worked! My skin was super dry, so I had to adjust my usage of the lotion. After I had clear skin for some time, I switched to some fancier, more expensive products reccomended by my aesthetician. I broke out again and again, so now I have reordered the proactive! The customer service rep I spoke to was fantastic, she helped me figure out the best way for me to order the products I need to not waste my money with too frequent shipments. I have high standards and did not expect proactive to work, I ordered it because it was cheap and I was desperate. I am happy to have a line that works and I get five products for the price of ONE of my other ineffective products. Recommended: Yes Usage: Beth has used this item for a few months. Pros: It worked very well for me for a while with consistent use. If I skipped a night or two, I would get breakouts.After 2 years of using it I started to break out more frequently. Cons: Drying, but all acne medication is. Bottom Line: Never visited a dermatologist until recently. (in late 20's) After going I was informed that there are much cheaper (if you have insurance) and much more effective solutions avaliable if you go to a dermatologist. Wish I had done it sooner. Pros: Proactive works great (if you use all three products every day). It only stings a little bit when you put on the toner. (I decided that meant it was 'working'.) Cons: Proactiv is a little, um, labor-intensive. I did it once a day. (Who has time?) I also didn't need the 'automatic' membership, the 'automatic' charge to my credit card, and the 'automatic' shipment every other month. Bottom Line: Use it if you have mild to moderate acne, rich parents, and too much time on your hands. Recommended: Yes Usage: Jenna has used this item for an inconsistent period of time. Pros: none Cons: everything! Bottom Line: Proactiv is a scam! I ordered this product and then, after seeing additional research, decided it was not for me. I called them and they told me I "could not cancel the order" and "this is how our system works"... Sounds a bit borderline-legal to me... As I tried to cancel, the customer service rep (who was not very nice) tried to convince me I was wrong and started to ask me all kinds of questions about my skin and how I could get my money back within 60 days, etc, but I know by that time I'd have 3 more shipments charged to me. I said nothing and she kept persisting. I'm really upset that their service is so terrible and that they are such a scam! Recommended: No Usage: amw has used this item for a day or two.
