I found that there is no difference between Proactiv Solution and any other skin products for acne. I believe that acne can only be treated from inside.

I used Proactiv for about 9-12 months. I talked to some of my friends who had used it and of course seen all the ads on TV. For about the first 5 months my skin looked a little better. I've had skin problems since 5th grade and know I'm 16 and I still have oily/super sensitive skin that does not heal quickly. After the 5 months, my skin still had pimples, not as many, but then slowly it started to get worse. I began getting pimples in places I usually didn't get them. Finally, about a month ago I decided Proactiv wasn't doing anything at all. I would not use it if you have skin that doesn't heal well because you won't notice much of a difference.

Ok... im 14 and i have pretty bad acne. At first i tried like u kno the usual stuff like clean and clear but that didnt really help at all just made my skin less oily. It was just getting so bad that at night i would just cry myself to sleep and just wonder why did it have to be me that has all theses zits while there are so many ppl that have clear skin and have a care in the world. I finally had enough of it and my mom ordered Proactiv for me. I had very very high expectations for it cuz u kno how they would say like Jessica Simpson and Alica Keys used it and they have great skin now or w/e.. but when i used it my acne did get better >> no lie<< but im not saying im zit free i still have tons of breakout and i hate it... so now i think im gonna try acnefree or w/e and c how that goes.. but 4 ppl who have acne i totally get wat ur goin through and i wish u the best of luck just dont give up hope.

I used proativ hoping to get rid of my acne but, i ended up waking up with a face so swollen and rashed what know one would've recognized me. It was terrible i took about 2 weeks before i felt i could even leave the house. Obviously i was allergic to something in the proactiv solution but didn't know what. A few months down the road a decided to try something else, it was a tube of benxoyl peroxide. So one night i put it on and guess what? I woke up the same way i did with the proactiv. Unfortunately i had to go though that torture twice before i found out it was benxoyl peroxide i'm allergic to. So please anyone trying it for the first time i suggest u put it on a very small area of your face to see if your allergic first..

it has worked better than anything i have ever used.. and i have used quite a few different dermatologist prescribed drugs and topical medication.. but you HAVE to moisturize if you dont want flaky, dry skin... just because you have a lot of oil DOES NOT mean than your skin has enough water(hydration).. that is key!

I'm a 25 year-old African American female and have had acne since puberty. Lucky me. I tried Proactiv and it didn't work. I used it for longer than 60 days thinking of that old saying of it gets worse before it gets better. Well, Proactiv tore my face up. I never broke out as bad as I did on it and it discolored my skin. Let me add that I called the company and they advided me on modifying my regimen. I did, and that didn't work either. They sent me more stuff, for free I might add, and those things didn't help. I will say it made my skin super soft but what difference does that make when I'm all broken out? So I went to the dematologist and she put me on Duac (cream antibiotic which contains BP) and Dynacin (pill antibiotic). I'm used them and my skin glowed. It became soft, smooth and even in color which I find is difficult to achieve as an African American. But even with my insurance co-pay it was costing me $50 a month and that didn't include cleanser or moisturizer. Eventually I had to stop using it because it was too expensive. So now my face is breaking out again and I'm looking up more affordable acne options. I've tried sulfur which makes skin soft and smooth and helps unclog pores but it stinks and my face was shedding like a snake in big sheets and it discolored my skin. Pretty nasty. Now I just was and moisturize and watch my face for the next pimples arriving. I'm about to try Dan's regimen which sounds like a big old con sin he's selling the 2.5% BP. I'll write in a couple of months to tell you if it works. Wish me luck.

Really works, used it on cystic acne and it worked after one use!! use the smallest amount you can to start with, it will do more damage than good if you use too much. feels great and reduces spot size really fast.
