Pros: When it works...it really works! There are times that Pro Activ leaves my skin completely clear and smooth...for a couple of weeks. Cons: It doesn't consistently work. Just started using it again about three weeks ago, after taking a couple of months off (because it stopped working). I've seen no change; I've noticed more, larger, pimples. Pros: It had a great fragrance, the mask really helps with pimples, i usually put a little bit on my pimple and the next morning the pimple had calmed down a bit. Cons: It made my skin REALLY! dry and itchy, i had dry flakes all over my face and even looked like an old lady, i stopped using it and i only attempt to use it when i have bad pimples but still i can' get my face back to normal as it is still dry. Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend it for people with sensitive skin and really only buy it if you have BAD BAD BAD! acne. Recommended: No Usage: Lily has used this item for about a year. Pros: It definitely *feels* like a medication. Cons: It's a harsh product, over priced and smells scary. Bottom Line: This product is pretty harsh on skin. When using Proactiv I was always pretty gentle, yet it sucked a lot out of my skin and left it dry, flaky and irritated. Their so-called "amazing" product, the refining mask did *nothing* for me. Except for leave my skin flaky. It's not worth the price, in my opinion. Plus it smells bad. Spend your money elsewhere. Recommended: No Usage: Lauren has used this item for a few months. Pros: Works quickly while removing acne and clearing away blackheads and scarring Cons: The smell is terrible! It's like playdoh and sulfer. Leaves the skin looking oily or leaves it very dry Bottom Line: Proactive is a great product, but the smell makes it hard to use it every day. The sulfer smell is in the toner, and can make your eyes water like crazy. It does shrink and remove acne, but if you have a very sore acne spot, the pain won't disappear as fast as the apperance of the acne. I like the mask though, that's excellent. Pros: NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: THIS STUFF IS SH*T! Bottom Line: IM 15 AND THIS STUFF HAS MADE MY FACE AWFUL !! Pros: Clears skin, smells good, DESTROYS blackheads lol Cons: Burns if used while sunburned (found this out the hard way) dries skin if not used with moisturizer, took a while for it to work, at least with me Bottom Line: This isn't a miracle, but it's the only thing my skin has ever even reacted to (positively.) I used it for a couple months, didn't think it was working, so I stopped using it. Broke out horribly, started using it again, and now I'm clearing up. Right now I have about five pimples (huuuugee improvement over what my face used to look like) and they're clearing up, too. As I said, if you don't use moisturizer you're asking for a world of pain, including dry, flaky,hurting skin. But, use a moisturizer and you're fine. And they're serious when they say use sunscreen. Pros: It dries up white heads and bacteria but also destroys healthy tissue Cons: dont use it youll regret it instead just wash your face 2-3 times a day with regular water or oil free soap (not Dove soap it will clog pores) Bottom Line: was terrible my skin used to be just fine but after only 2 months i had breakouts almost everyday and my skin became dry flaky and red Recommended: No Usage: David has used this item for a few months. Pros: Proactiv works for people with mild acne it you have light acne ,them most likey it will work for you . you have to giv it time first it will give you little bumps cause it bringing out all the pimple what would have popped up in time Cons: it works but lets just say you move away to a hot climate and you start to produce more oil , it might not work as good as it use Bottom Line: I started using proactiv 3 years ago about my 2nd year into using it . I moved to FL where it is hot , i started to produce more oil than i use to , so proactiv wasnt not working as good as it use to, i had to be put on something strong (like Tazorac ,works GREAT!!!!) then i moved bac to my home town were it gets cold , taz became too strong. So i switched bac to proactv , it started works great agian . Now im clear !!!!, i do have bad breakouts on my forehead every now in then (but i just got of birth control not to long a ago , and if you are on birth control and you get off , your hormones will go sick ) so i have to go bac on it to claim my hormones down .. but overall its a great product , if you have serious acne i think you should not use proactiv it might not work , or you can try the extra strenth formula proactiv (its new ) that might work , if not ask your dermo about tazorac it works wonders !!! Pros: Since the Proactive System is primarily based on doses of low percentage BP, it essentially works the same way as The Regimen. Because of this, it is fairly effective at ridding the skin of acne. Cons: The biggest Con for me was that their "30 day Trail Size Supply", keyword being "supply", did not last 30 days. I used it as directed and it only lasted me about a week, and I don't have absolutely terrible acne either. Bottom Line: I wouldn't bother with the Proactive treatment again, there are more effective and better value products out there, like the Regimen. One more thing that should be pointed out is that they will automatically send you a 60 day supply whether or not you ask for it. I found out much to my surprise that my Visa had been charged without being informed prior. I was not pleased to say the least. After speaking with customer service and reviewing the order form on their website, the small print does state that they will ship and charge a 60 day supply after my 30 day "supply" should have run out. Some may say convenient. I would say unnecessary and bothersome. In summary, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. The products with the flashiest infomercials aren't always the best. Pros: My skin looks much better, even my blackheads are gone now! Fragrance is not bad. Skin feels softer and smoother than it ever has! Cons: All of my pillowcases are white now! Bottom Line: Proactiv has worked great for me and I will continue to use this product. I have always been embarrassed about my skin and now I don't even have to wear makeup!
