Pros: There is improvement. Cons: Extremely irritating, stops working after a while, and kind of a pain to apply all three steps. Bottom Line: I used this product for several months before finally giving up. My moderate acne cleared some but no where near completely, and it just wasn't worth all the irritation. Pros: Worked for my brother, who has light acne. The moisturizer was pretty good... Cons: I have moderate to severe acne, and Proactiv did NOT work for me. I have a very oily complexion, and the clenaser didn't even get my skin to feel clean. Bottom Line: Basically here's what I get out of ProActiv. It works for those with lighter acne, or maybe with a less oily face (like my brother), but for people like me, who have moderate to severe acne, with an oily complexion, it doesn't work. Also, it's around 50 to 60 dollars per package, so I would not say it's worth your money. I kept using it for an extended amount of time, hoping to see if it would improve, but was only disappointed. Pros: It cleared up some of my acne. Cons: It was too costly for my budget and my acne didn't go away completely like the people on the commercials. There was still some there but not as much. Bottom Line: CONS CONTINUED: There must be some kind of chemicals in the product that my skin was used to because when I stopped using it, MY SKIN GOT WORSE THAN IT EVER GOT IN MY LIFE! AND NOW I'M DYING TO FIND A CURE FOR ACNE! I DON'T WANT TO TAKE DANGEROUS PILLS I HERE ABOUT BECAUSE OF THEIR SIDE EFFECTS AND FACE CLEANSERS LEAVE YOUR SKIN HOOKED! THIS IS VERY DEPRESSING BECAUSE I HAVE TO WEAR MAKE-UP FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE UNTIL SOMEONE FINDS A CURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Let me think - oh, right. It helps my skin. Duur -_-U Cons: I don't use all of the products, but I share with my sister so it's all fine. I do break out at times due to hormones (my monthly) and excessive stress, but they're very minor. As long as I don't look like I did in grade 8, I'm happy. Bottom Line: It works for me. Not everyone's skin is suitable for the same products, but I have to shuffle between ones because my skin becomes immune to stuff after a couple months. **RANT BELOW** - And I'm not sugarcoating it. Oh. My. GOD. How many people do NOT know tat this is for people with /actual/ acne - not just a couple of pimples on your forehead, but acne!?!? If you try it with little to no acne you're not gonna get many places, it won't be worth the price. And to WATCHOUT!, it does say that the product acts a bleach on fabrics. Pros: The only system that has ever worked consistantly. Clears my skin, moisturizes, minimizes pores, and my skin really does "glow". Cons: The price can be a bit startling, but I compare it to how much money I've wasted on things that don't work. It is WORTH it. Bottom Line: I love ProActiv, but I know many people who do not agree. The bottom line is you have to find something that works for YOU. I can't use Salicylic Acid and too much benzyol peroxide overdries my skin, but ProActiv only has 2.5% (Clean & Clear is 10%) My skin feels and looks AMAZING while using ProActiv. Pros: It made my skin feel smooth and didn't dry me out. Cons: DIDNT WORK! WASTE OF MONEY! made acne worse Bottom Line: k heres the bottom line people...proactiv doesn't work. i used to be one of you. looking up reviews to see if proaciv. i wish i would have listened to these people.it was a waste money. The only good thing about it was the toner which takes dirt off your face. like dirt i didn't even know was there. I used this for about a year and the first month i cleared up then i stayed about the same. when i decided to see what would happen it got WORSE! the commercials promised me the world and i was let down. now i use the clean and clear 3 step kit and it is great! it cleared up my face in a day! Pros: Reduced redness. Reduced blotchiness of skin tone. Makes skin soft and smooth. The sulpher mask really helps to clear up skin when first using Proactiv. It works incredibly well. Cons: The repairing lotion can make your skin a bit dry, however it is nothing that a daily moisturizer with SPF in it can't fix. Which everyone should be using daily anyway to protect from the harmful UV rays. Bottom Line: For those people who have minor acne that does not require you to go to the dermatologist, this product is not for you. This product is for SEVERE acne sufferers who have been to dermatologists and have used such prescribed lotions, pills, etc,.. like accutane, and still suffer from acne. Proper use of this product shows incredible results. A few comments have mentioned only using it at night or when they had a breakout. That isn't proper use of the product. It is a 2x daily cleaning regime. Always test products on your skin before use as many people have skin allergies...this is recommended by products of any kind. I've been using this product for years. I now use it 1x a day and use a Neutrogena cleanser to remove make-up in the evening, and my skin just glows. The 3-step products last me for about 6 months, so the $60 for the 3 components is worth it. You would spend about $15 on a regular cleanser, $15 on a toner, $20 acne cream, and $20 for a moisturizer anyway, so Recommended: Yes Price Paid: 60.00 Acne severity: severe Was this comment helpful?
