I tried it for 2 months (twice a day, everyday) and at first it seemed to be working. My acne clearned up everywhere but my chin, were it got MUCH worse. Even though I used the lotion they sell my face is always very dry. I also bought their make-up, and it gave me a rash. Definatly going back to stuff I can buy at the store.

I was wondering what kinds of prescription drugs other ppl have tried and that have worked other than accutane (I don't want to try that since it is so severe)? I have really oily skin and nothing dries it out, NOTHING. I can apply 10% Benzoyl Perozide daily and still have oily skin. Proactive worked a little but did not really fix things that much. I guess it depends on your skin type.

chocolate and such foods are now the problem that give you acne. When you eat chocolate the oil from it gets on your hands then you touch your face and that is what clogs your pores

What I've realised from ProActiv:

- It worked slightly but didnt have too much change. I used it for like a month and then got sick of it and stopped. It was a waste of money

- The moment you stop using ProActiv, your skin will get ten times worse. Maybe that's why they have the 60 day guarantee; you return the bottles, wait a few weeks and realise your acne has gotten worse than when you started and then you buy it again.

My advice is be beware of ProActiv: unless you have the money and commitment to use the product vigorously - then dont buy it.

I've always had problems with mild to moderate acne, so I tried proactive. I used it for a month, and decided to quit because it's so expensive and it really dried out my face. As soon as I stopped my face became 10 times worse than it ever was before.

I used Proactiv when I had mild/moderate acne before Grad and I had the most gorgeous complexion. I thought the "stage" was over and quit using it during the summer. For two months I had clear skin then I broke out allover my cheaks and forhead....very severe acne. I went from being a very confident girl to someone who never wanted to look at myself in the mirror. I tried using Proactiv again and It didnt work so I stopped using it. I have been trying everything for the past 4months and used Benzamycin from the doctor and also some Mitocylcine pills also from the doctor....the Benzamycin totally dried the crap out of my face making it flaky and dry and sick looking but it did minimize my pimples and I dont know whether it was the benzamycin or the Mitocycline pills kicking in..but I no longer have zits that have white tops to pop. Now that my acne seems to be somewhat cleared up and just totally scarred with red marks I decided to try Proactiv again because I still believe in it from when I first started using it. I am using the 5step system and it takes 5minutes and my skin feels like I just got a facial, it doesnt flake anymroe and I cant even tell I have any zits on my face. Try Proactiv, I think what it does is cleans out your pores and brings out ALL your acne and then clears it up and keeps your pores clean and your clear.
Most people need a skin care system in the first place and in order to get the feeling and effects that proactiv gives you need to spend $40-$70....its probably close the same cost of buying a cleanser, toner and lotion in a drugstore. I am now hoping that my skin doesnt turn back to sever acne and stays smooth, I just need to wait out the red spots but make up can always fix that;) Good Luck!

I've been using proactive solution for a few years now, and I must admit my skin looks a lot better then it did 2 years ago. About 90% of my acne has cleared up, but proactive didn't help much in clearing up any scars. I always get complemented on how smooth my skin looks, but thats partly because I use foundation to cover up scars. Right after using it in the morning my skin feels really tight, and by the end of the day my skin gets pretty oily. Weird. All in all, its worth the cost.
