Hey Yall, I just recently ordered proactiv and should be arriving in 2 weeks. Ive benn hearing a lot of bad news about it, and am not sure if i shouls really use it if ima breakout even worser. But heres some tips: Use a white towel , trust me it will get bleached and keep away from your eyebrows as well. But some moisturizer, after using the repairing lotio ( which is a dumb name because it dries out ur skin.) Well I thought about it and Proactiv doesnt seem worth my money. Im might try accutane. Thanxx for your comments guys

I've been using Proactiv for just over two weeks after a completely out-of-the-blue acne attack on my face at the age of 26. First it seemed to be working, then my skin became unbearably flaky, which was easy enough to even out with moisturizer, and only now have I had a bit of a lull in terms of blemish appearance. The reason I'm not satisfied yet is because I have all kinds of tiny whitish bumps in my acne-prone area that seem to be increasing rather than decreasing, and usually from my experience those bumps are acne waiting to happen, not to mention that they're making my skin texture very uneven. Anyone have any experience with this problem?

After going to two different dermatologists over five years, and having them both say that Accutane was the next step, I decided to stop going to dermatologists for my acne and decided to try Proactiv. I have been using Proactiv for about three weeks. Thinking if I did everything it would be my saving grace, I purchased the six-step program, a skin lightener, shampoo, conditioner, and body cleansing pads for when I workout. I spent about $150 in one shot.

I had thought that it would be the miracle cure (even though I had seen mixed results on this site, I had high hopes--and got sucked into the advertising) but I have super-sensitive skin, and discovered that the system was aggravating it, making my skin worse than it already was (think red, irritated, skin and spots everywhere). The one thing that seemed to work was the sulfur and possibly the tea tree oil in the refining mask, which I have been using overnight. But I think the Clear Skin Regimen gel could do the same, and I would be able to wear it all day instead of just at night (the mask is white). In the past, I have used benzol peroxide (when you could only get the white chalky stuff) and recall it working somewhat, probably because I only used it at night.

I have known about acne.org for some time but thought dermatologists would know better. I think I'm going to start on this new, less expensive routine and hope that cures my acne once and for all.

Hi im still deciding on whether to use proactive or not. Im a teenager with combination skin. some parts are smooth/oily with little tiny bumps, and other parts of my face where most of my zits are, are dry (cause i use celan&clear which is supposed to dry out your skin)

after what i have read about proactive, people have said that it makes it worse, then it gets better.... or it just gets it worse. I want to know it proactive would work on dry skin? cause pretty much everyone on here has talked about oily skin

Proactiv worked really well at first and I stopped using it for like a week or two and my forehead broke out bad and it still has not cleared up. My eyes get swollen when I use it too sometimes and my face itches really bad and dries out. I don't really like it anymore..kind of sucks.

I started using ProActiv when my benzamycin stopped really working. I had an occasional breakout and bumps on my forehead. When I started Benzamycin a few years previous I had cystic pimples on my chin and cheeks and scarred very easily. The first month I noticed my pimples were coming at the same rate, but were smaller and went away faster. But I developed an allergic reaction to the medicine when it somehow got near my eyes. My acne never went away and never really got better, and I was actually worse off because I developed dermatitis around my eyes. Keep in mind that is a very atypical reaction. But overall ProActiv wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I cancelled it and am going back to the dermatologist for another solution.
