I am 36 yeears old, and I do not have bad acne, but always seem to have 1-3 pimples on my face at all times. I am sick of this, at my age. My aunt, who is actually a health care professional, has been touting proactive for years whenever I complain about my pimples. So I finally decided to give it a try.

After using it for only 2 nights, I began to get a bumpy, itchy rash on my forehead. I quit using it, and the rash has become worse each day since. It is three days after I stopped using it, and I woke up this morning with a swollen, blotchy, itchy face, with the rash much worse and having spread. It had even started spreading down my neck, and my eyes and eylids are swollen. I did not even use the product on my eyes!

I called customer service and the woman was very friendly, apologized and refunded my money immediately.

I called a doctor friend who said using this for my skin was like trying to kill a mosquito with an atomic bomb! He told me to use cold compresses to treat the bad reaction and take Benedryl to help the itching.

I was very hopeful, and am disappointed. But I learned my lesson. I will be less vain and will deal with my here and there pimples.

I do hope this works well for most who try it, though.

I had high hopes for this product... thanks Jessica (who apparently used accutane anyway...). I was REALLY disappointed though - it didn't improve my skin at all.

All my friends who support the product ALREADY have good skin. My dermatologist always said you can do almost anything to your skin and it will stay good if you're genetically blessed... unfortunately I'm not.

If you want to give it a try, go for it... we all have different skin.

hi me name is sally, and im from Miami.I am 16 years old. Any acne treatment, or soaps you use, is all useless. Your face doesn't need any more chemicles on it, because your going to damage your skin even more!!! Sure you'll have great skin for a while after using this, but wait a couple years or months, and your face will be worse than ever. Trust me on this one.

Real treatment would be to drink 8 glasses of water each day! And eat lots of vegetables/fruits. My grandmother had acne problems... but when she changed her eating habits... she had the nicest skin in miami. So don't waste your money. THINK ABOUT YOUR FUTURE. If your never going to stop using it ... then go for it. BUt can you afford to use it your whole lifetime...??? think about it because when you stop using proactiv your skin gets worse!!!

Hi. My story may not be unique but I want to share it anyway. I am a 22 year-old African American female who's always had very acne-prone skin. Nothing ever worked for me. In high school I started developing tons of really dark acne scars. They were so embarassing that I fell into the bad habit of wearing foundation to try to cover it all up (later realizing it only made me look worse). It sucked to have to smother my skin like that at such a young age. Sometimes I tried fading creams too. I didn't think Proactiv would work for my skin because all the commercials showed white people with really bad discoloration and rosacea, and horrible acne (in comparison to mine). I thought that, at best, the product would slow down my acne but do nothing for my scars. I was 16 when I tried it and thought it didn't work because it made my face peel from being so dry and I even broke out more than usual. I stopped using it after about four days. Then, at 21, during my last year of college, I was fed up with having to accept that I was doomed forever and I tried it again. The same side effects happened but I kept with it and after about a week all the dryness, peeling, and breaking out stopped. I've been using it for a year and a half now. It is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I never ever break out now, not even during my cycle (which used to be the worst time). My scars are gone too. My complexion is so smooth and even. I still cannot believe when people tell me that I have flawless skin. It gives me the most incrdible feeling because I'd always been the girl with bad skin. I know this sounds so "infomercial", but it's true. I know Proactiv doesn't work for everyone but I also know that it has changed my life. I don't hide from cameras anymore! I don't dare wear foundation, concealer, or powder because I don't need it. I tell everyone that compliments me about my experience with Proactiv and they end up being satisfied customers as well. About the price . . . for someone with results like mine, 40 bucks isn't bad at all. If you don't want to be a part of the shipment club, you can buy the products from the kiosks at the malls on an as-needed basis. Even if you are with the club, you can change your delivery dates. I do that all the time because it may take me 3 months to go through a whole supply. So, 40 bucks every 3 months for beautiful skin . . . that's nothing!

If I could rate this product a negative I would. Don't buy it ,don't try it. I had a SEVERE allergic reaction to it. My skin is literally peeling off. I am being treated for chemical burns. I have been to the E.R. 3 times in the last 4 days. I'm now on steroid treatments and anti itch pills and shots and now pain killers. I need to have whirlpool bath for my hands and debreeding( spelling probably wrong) where they have to pull the skin off the burns. I used the product for about one week felt really great about it. Thought hey my skin is finally clearing up,I found something yee haw. That was shot lived. It started as red dry itchy spots. So I quit it imeadiately to take a break. Woke up with my neck swollen so bad I looked like a bullfrog. My face and neck looked bright red and burned. It seeped like an open blister. My hands are a completly different story. I had a small patch of eczema(again spelling?) about the size of a quarter. Not any more. First it was the unbarable itching. Then blisters. Now the skin is falling off. You know it's bad when every doctor wants to take a picture and you really feel like a freak show. Vanity. All I wanted was to clear up a few pimples. Now I just want to stop crying when I look at my self and during the painfull dressing changes. I'll give you a commercial. Pictures and everything.
