Proactiv doesn't work. I've gotten alot more pimples from using this product. If you really want to get rid of your pimples get Vilantae. At [link removed]. This one actually worked for me because it's the exact same thing as accutane but with none of the harmful side effects.

GET VILANTAE!

First of all, to those of you that have dry or flaking skin: the product warns that it may not be for everyone. There are many outside effects that could have caused your dry skin. Such as the weather, heat, sun, dry air, elevation, there are a ton more. As for me, Proactiv was the best thing that could have happened to me.

I was one of those lucky teenagers that never got acne. But when I got pregnant with my son three year ago, it was like my skin turned on me. I never wanted to leave the house. My emotions were already out of whack because I felt as big as a house. I tried proactiv. Yes, my skin was dry for about the first week, but then I just naturally adjusted. My skin looks like it did when I was 16. It glows again. I will never use anything else on my face. Proactiv is the best.

I had acne and sometimes bad breakouts.I heard alot about this product how good it works, celebrity's endorsing it etc.I ordered from Qvc.In the begining it seem to work fine.Yet as time went on I noticed my skin was peeling and itching swollen and burning. My face was so swollen and burning it felt like I had a sereve sun burn.I stop using the proactiv imediately and now my skin is much better.

Morning: Use Cetaphil face wash. Then apply Proactive lotion (the one that contains bp) Then wait about 15 minutes for it to dry out and use an oil-free lotion. I use a product called PlutioDerm (Creme-Gel fur die unrein-fettreiche Haut). I think this might be hard to find in the states, but it's very good for oily skin and keeps your skin moisturized during the day.

Evening: Only use Proactive face wash if you've been sweating, been at the gym, or your skin just feels oily. Then apply Proactive lotion, wait 15 minutes and apply the oil-free lotion.

When your acne clears, but you have scars, continue the regimen, but instead of using the oil-free lotion during the evening, use creme de la mer and sleep in a cool temperature. Just enough to feel comfortable under the duvet. Within a week, your skin will glow and eventually, the scars will disappear.

Many may experience unpleasant reaction to proactive at first, but if you just give it a chance it does eventually clear up your skin. I guess it depends on how desparate you are, personally I cannot afford to waste another day of my life secluded in my room feeling sorry for myself, it made me completely clear after 3 months. it was well worth the wait. after all, rome wasn't built in a day! have patience, it truly does pay off.

I bought Proactive a few weeks ago and on about the second day I thought I was getting sick because my face felt hot...then I realised by face was actually burning.

Alot of you are saying "just be persistant with it, you're using too much - follow instructions"

Sorry - ANYTHING that slightly burns your skin whether you use a little or alot does not seem right to me.

This stuff is going in the bin!

Proactive helps me quite alot. It started to work within the first couple of weeks. The first week or so it caused me to have a big clump of pimples above my eyebrow but after a couple of days they went. I have used it for about 4 weeks and am just going to see how it turns out!!

scared from to quit
February 18, 2006
Ive have been breaking out since i was 11 and it only gets worse over time. OTC stuff doesnt work. Benzaclin worked ok. i tried proactive a year ago and it didnt really work. Then i went to the dermatologist and he gave me differin which worked the first week. I stopped using proactiv once i go the differin. Only to be disappointed again. I went again and he gave me tazorac. Which didnt even work at first. So now im back to proactive for about a week, along with tazorac at night. It seems to be actually kind of working. But from what you guys are saying im afraid it will stop- and im afraid to quit.I dont think i could handle any worse. Im already a walking self consious mess-and im only 14.Should I quit the proactive. Oh yea i also take pills. What would be the next step above tazorac. My skin is always red (my whole life really) so i notice no difference in that. I also i have pigmant scars all over my face, which can take up to 2 years to fade. This is a terrible thing to go through and i hope it stops. I also hear do fthis system you can take fpr 6 months but its suppose to make the acne go away for ever and never come back. I keep begging my momto try it but she doesnt think im ready. Trust me im ready for anything effective
