I have tried Proactive twice and both times it did not work for me. I thought that I should give it another shot since more celebraties were endorsing it, bad idea. My skin will feel great but it never stopped or slowed down the breakouts. My roommate also got it at the same time I did and it didn't help her. It was a waste.... but it did make me wash my face everynight and morning, so I guess that was a perk/

It is cool. I really fair skin and when this stuff works it really works. I is so embarrassing to be the only one with pimples out of all your friends. But thanks to proactive that embarrassment is invisible.

i think it really works well. When i originally started using it worked great after two months a few occasional bumps but only ones you could see in a magnified mirror. Being stupid I stopped using it so to my surpirse my acne came back. Then i got back on the routine again and i have gotten the same results my skin is great. Just keep using it if you want true results. Aslo when I originally used it my face would become red during the day, but i found it was that repairing lotion, so now i only use it at night... i still get the same results i just use the first 2 in the morning and the oil free moisture to make it look less oily after the renwewing cleanser and then at night i use all 3 and the oil free moisture, still same results.

This product was okay when i first started using it, now my face is breaking out again, and it is beginning to burn and turn red. Don't get me wrong it did help in the beginning, it cleared up most of my acne in the first week, but like i said it all returned about 2 weeks later. I really wouln't recommend this product for anybody who has sensitive skin!!!!!!!! I have just recently ordered this product called "Exposed Acne Solution" it is supposed to be alot better that proactive. I'll keep you'll posted to tell you'll how it is working out for me.

This thing is a scam. You can buy benzoil peroxyde which is its main ingredient at walmart for $1.50. I bought a pack of this expensive stuff in the television offer and tried it with no result whatsoever. Reality is no topical creams or lotions can cure acne. Some can only improve it temporarily. This stuff proactive I bought for 39.99 did nothing. Plus they wanted to send me another package for 39.99 I called and canceled them. If you have bad acne there are more drastic medicines to talk about to your doctor.

I have sensitive skin, excema and I used to have acne. I started using Proactiv and I noticed an improvement within the first couple of days. I use the cleanser all over my face, but I don't apply the oil control, toner or repairing lotion around my usual excemous "flare up" area, dry areas around the apples of my cheeks or of course my eyes. I have had success with this and nothing else has worked in the past. Normally other products dried out my face too much or didn't work at all. This product is not too harsh and it is ok for sensitive skin. It's not that expensive, considering the expense of trying everything else first. I'm very happy to have found it.

I have suffered from acne for the better part of my life and have paid top dollar for the best NY dermatologists there are and nothing seemed to work! My chin always broke out... until I started using Proactiv about 2 mths ago. While I still suffer from a zit here and there... it is by the far the best results I have seen since I had clear skin. Don't get me wrong, Accutane worked while I was on it (which when I was on it it was about $200 a month), I tried light therapy ($600 a treatment) and it helped, but for the money I would have to say Proactiv is the way to go.

Proactiv was incredible at first. Within a week, I began to significantly clear up. This lasted for about a month when my skin slowly began to look the way it always had before. My skin was probably in need of more repairing lotion, but given the cost and quantity of the product, this was not possible. Also, my dermatologist admitted Proactiv is a good system, but said the glycolic acid in the toner may temporarily give the appearance of better skin by closing the pores, but that ultimately causes blocked pores. After a couple months of continuing the system with poor results, I switched to Dan's regimen listed on this site. It is very similar, but much more affordable, much less irritating and the results are as good as the my first week of using Proactiv. In conclusion, I think Proactiv is a very good product, but if budget is an issue, I recommend exploring this site for more affordable options that include the basic and necessary steps of gentle cleansing, BP and moisturizing. Best of luck.

I know Proactive does not work for everyone - some people are sensitive to some of the additional herbal ingredients.
I always had bad skin.
I am a redhead with fair fair sensitive skin.
I spent hundreds on products - over the counter and prescriptions - in an effort to clear it up. Most products dried me out or did nothing. I spent hundreds on makeup to cover my pimples and lots of blackheads. When I hit 30 I started getting cystic acne on my cheeks and big welts all over my face - on top of my pimples and black heads.....oh I forgot to mention...I have also had dermatitis since I was a child - I get dry scaling patches in my eyebrows - around my nose and ears - and over my eyebrows. I bought Proactive because 2 friends who had used Accutane and still had acne - swore by it.
Within 1 week I noticed a difference. I was careful not to use too much of the lotion in case I was sensitive to it...it does say to use a small amount.....in the 3rd week I went to put on my makeup and realized I didn't need any..non....no cover up and no foundation. It felt wierd going out without a drop of makeup on - but it felt good! The best part has been that my exema/dermatitis has cleared up. I still get flare ups but the Proactive keeps it calm - and prevents peeling...so it is not noticable. People have approached me and told me I have beautiful skin! I used to hide my face and look down because it would get so bad.

After about 6 months I found that my blackheads were noticable so I took a week off and then started again....my blackheads are not cured but I use clinique's pore minimizer to hide them. Sure I still get the occasional pimple, but I no longer have acne or exema on my face. I think it is important to use a small amount - and take a break every couple of months. As well the face scrub can dry out your skin - we all have diferent skin and any directions should be adjusted to your face - so use the face wash less if you get dry.

Again....not everyone benefits but for $60 (Canada) it is worth the try - especially when you have already spent $100s and most women nothing of spending $30 on foundation and makeup.....
make sure you stay with it for 3-4 weeks and adjust your amounts. The scrub is drying - the toner and solution aren't. You might one of the ones that Proactive works for!
