Proactiv has done wonders for me. I am 36 now - I've had mild to moderate acne outbreaks since I puberty, they avtually got worst in my 30ies (I guess adult acne is to blame). I had episodes when my acne would leave scars on my face which the sun turned into spots (after several years now these have just began slowly disappearing with prescription drug Triluma). But since I started on the Proactiv system the acne is gone (it has only comes when I have skipped my daily routine too many times). I use it only once a day, at night, since like few other people have reported, if used twice it dries the skin ( that is if you have combination or sensitive skin). I actually don't use much pf the toner and switched to a shippment of two cleansers/ one lotion and then two lotion/one cleanser. It works great! Highly recommend it to people (at least try it for several months).

Dont use it, i used it for about 4 months and it just made my acne worse. I heard all these people saying wait and it will get better, well that never happened. The bottles they give you dont last long enough either, so you run out for like a week.

proactive caused my skin to flare up within the first two months of using the products but i still continued to use it and now my skin is on its way to a clearer skin. although i still get pimples here and now but it never grows or turn red because i use the ten-o-six zit cream n its the best zit cream ever. Also the free mask that proactive gave me was the cause of my skin breaking out, coz as soon i stopped using it, my skin gradually sleared up. i have a question for everyone who has tried proactive.... does your skin constantly peels? coz my skin especially my forehead constantly peels n my forehead looks blotchy! and im scared that the constant peeling will thin my skin out

my mom just ordered proactiv for me. i have not tried it yet but i have heard a lot of things about it. for some it is a miracle. for others they wish they had never tried it- it was a huge waste! i am looking for a miracle right about now because i cant stand how my skin looks. i am afraid that it will work, but my mom will not want to continue to buy it because of the price...if anyone knows of something better speak up!!! i need help! :/

I've been using Proactiv for almost 2 weeks now. I started out using it twice a day but starting noticing a lot of flakiness so i toned it down to once a day. Now i have this rashy redness along my jawline, cheeks, and chin, it is not fun. But in other areas like my forehead and nose, i've noticed major improvement. So i'm kinda unsure what i should do. I'm going to stop using it until the rash goes away and then use the proactiv for sensitive skin b/c i think that is the main problem, in that area along your jawline your skin is very thin so that is why it dries out and gets red so badly. I had moderate acne before and I'm going to continue using it just b/c I have faith that it will get better, I'm just going to take a break and use less of it. It's hard not to use a decent amount of the face wash but really dont use much at all or else it will suck your face dry. Also I dont find that the toner helps much.

I just starting using Proactiv last week. I used it twice a day as the instructions say. I noticed my acne cleared up within about 3 days. However, by day 4 my face was a dry, itchy, irritated mess. I have NEVER had dry sor sensitive skin before, but now I'm applying moisturizer about 5 times a day. Now my face is peeling and very sensitive. It's terrible. I've stopped using it. If you're going to use it, start out with only once a day or every other day. And use a very gentle cleanser the other times you wash your face.

I ordered Proactiv and just got it 3 weeks ago. I got the 3-part kit and the mask. After a few days, I saw a bit of an improvement. But last week, my skin started getting worse again. I really, really want it to help my skin because my face is disgusting. I'm not even kidding. Oh my god.

(Oh, and I didn't want to rate for "agreeability" because I don't know what that means, but it says you have to. So I just put 3.)

(And I gave it a 1 for fragrance because it smells like %#$#. But that's really not what's important.)

Mary,

This stuff really does work, but the key is in how you use it. I totally understand all the problems everyone has had with it as I also had some of them at first. Here are some keys to making it work:
-Be very gentle when you wash, dont scrub your face and dont dry it harshly, blot it dry with a CLEAN, soft towel.
-Expect that initially you will be drier, redder, itchier and slightly miserable from the benzoyl peroxide. That is totally normal. Skip step 3 until you're used to steps 1 & 2 and/or use all 3 steps only once a day and then just wash with something super gentle (like cetaphil) & moisturize the other time until you can gradually handle more.
-Be consistent. The first mistake is to just use the product "once in a while." It simply will not work that way. You HAVE to deal with the initial frustration to get to the happy stage where you're acne goes away.
Good Luck!
