I want to inform you guys of a fantastic product I think you should all try. I was using proactive.. I dont have complaints.. it was okay nothing spectacular and it bleached everything and then a friend told me to try Burt Bees Tomato Garden complexion soap for problem skin.. its such a simple product you can get it at the Vitamin Shoppe but let me tell you something.. it is amazing! It gets rid of acne scares, makes your pores smaller, your skin will look great and after your first washing with it! The tomato actual balances your PH level and soothes inflammed skin.. its really fantastic. Its so inexpensive I urge all of you to atleast just try it once. I have been on prescriptions- over the counter- proactive.. and this simple natural soap did the trick.

I've been reading the comments and find it funny how some people think it's an amazing product and others think its horrible. In my opinion, I think it works fairly good. Ever since I was in 7th grade I've had problems with controling my acne so I went to the dermotoligst and got all the medications he told me to and they worked amazing. But two years later I started to notice bruises on my legs that were not there before and they kept coming. I found out that the oral medication he gave me could change my skin coloring. I am not going to have purple bruises on my legs, that is worse than acne. So I finally dropped all those products and ordered Proactive. I've been using it for a month and half now and it works great. Of course when my period comes I break out a little but I expect that to happen. I used to have really oily skin but once I started using daily oil control I was shine free. I guess because of how oily my skin got, that's why I broke out. Another thing is that I have bad acne on my chest and back, I tried out the Clearzone Body product and it worked a litte, just letting the pimples fade to a soft red look. So I've been using Zoderm that my dermotoligst first gave me at night and then the Clearzone for the day. It's working, but I think the Clearzone makes my skin softer so that's a positive. I hope this keeps working and I hope that everyone finds their solution even if it isn't Proactive.

p.s. - I think they should stop putting stars on as their spokes people, it just makes it seem so fake. And you can tell that Jessica is wearing makeup.

I used Proactiv about a year or so ago. I stopped because after a while it stopped helping. At first it cleared up most of my acne, reduced redness, and made my skin much smoother. I was happy with these results, of course. I just started back up on it because my face is covered in acne again and no other product is working for me. From what i recall Proactiv worked for about 5 or 6 moths. I think I'm going to stick with it this time instead of giving up on it. Ill give you all some (hopefully) helpful tips about Proactiv.

1-Use a good amount of the face wash, justt a little toner, and a very thin layer of the lotion. Remeber to use all over your face, not just the acne prone area.

2- DO NOT skip any of these steps. If you do it could ruin the results promised.

3- Do it twice a day, no skipping!

4- After letting the Proactiv lotion dry, use a different lotion that you trust to hydrate your skin.

5- Acne almost always gets worse before it gets better. No matter what product you use. So hang in there!

I hope I helped, and good luck!

~Dana

I never had a break out until I was 24. Over the past summer, I developed break outs on my back. I tried Neutogena salycylic acid body wash, that did not work. I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed Triaz Cleanser and Triaz Pads...they did not work. I was on doxycycline--that did not work. He recommended light therpy (which I never did) and wrote me a prescription for differin, which I never filled.

Tired of the prescription meds and countless doctor's visits, my friends raved about Pro-Active and I decided to use the Pro-Active 3 step kit and that worked. It cleared up my back acne in one month. I am a very satified customer with Pro-Active.

Proactive works for me. I've been using it for 3 years now. The trick is to use it twice a day, but only use a little bitty bit of each product. It takes me 6 months to use up one set of bottles. I have had a good experience dealing with the company. I've canceled, rejoined, suspended my account, changed the frequency of shipments, and they've been nice about it all. If you want to cancel, of course they try to convince you to stay - duh - just keep saying you are really not interested and you want to cancel. Anyway, I like it. My skin is clear and I have even skin tone for the first time in my life.

Worked for 2 years on mild acne, then ended up with moderate at the end of 2 years. HUGE hassle to remove my name from the "SUPER AMAZING PROACTIV CLUB" list, and you can't send back bottles (even if they are full) if it isn't your most recent month's package. (For instance, if they send you bottles in June, July, and August and you cancel your order in August but you haven't used any out of the bottles, you can only send back August's package, even if you never opened the boxes!) Customer service is great when you order but when you have problems or want to cancel they become rude and unfriendly.

Bottom line? Don't use it. I'm on accutane now.

I tried Proactiv for about 8 weeks and did not see significant improvement in my skin. Although my skin was alittle smoother, the blacheads still remained a problem.
The frustrating aspect to Proactiv is the unwanted future shipments of the product and the unauthorized charges to my debit card!
Be aware....when you go online to purchase this product it is not a one time shot! You are signing yourself up for a "club" that continues to ship this product to your home and charge your card $45.00 each time!
I called to cancel the membership to the "club" and was met with great resistance form a pusy sales person telling me that this is the best product and staying in the club locks in today's prices, etc...etc.. I finally had to hang up and go online to accomplish my goal of getting out of this club!!
I went back and looked at my paperwork from my initial order and had to strain to find the verbage regarding the club and future shipments that would be charged to my card. As you can guess...it was very small and hidden! This is no way to do business and people who see the infomercial and think..."I will give this a try and see if it works for me", need to realize they are signing on for much more than an initial trial.

I already made a comment on this product but I'm going to make another one because I started using it again. It worked quite well, but then came the side effects. My skind was soooooo red. People keep telling me that I am badly sunburnt! I stoppe dusing this 2 days ago. I am using Clearasil so I hope it works with out the side effects.
