Eh..I was on retin A micro and I really thought this would work so I went off my retin A and onto proactive. I am still getting pimples, no improvement -- the only improvement is that my skin is smoother and much much less dry than retin A. But I think I am actually getting more pimples now compared to Retin A.

The only thing good that I can say about proactive is that it seems to give your skin a healthy glow when you use it. I still broke out just as much as before on the product. And when I would break out it would make my acne even worse. I believe it makes it more likely to scar and bleed than ever before. I think this is due to the fact that it tends to make your pores smaller and tighter. Maybe it works for somebody certainly didn't work for me. At the age of 29 I am still looking for something to clear up my skin. After using this product I will be back at my doctors office once again looking for a solution to my acne problem.

You what clear skin? SWEAT!!. sweating cleans the pores from the inside out. Thats how the romans used to clean themselves back in the day when they didn't have soap.

Here's my theory:

Proactiv is engineered to *initially* make your skin look and feel awesome. So you say to yourself, "Wow, this really works!" and continue buying it.

Eventually, and the time frame is different for everyone, it WILL stop working. Not only that, but your face will dry out, become red, and start flaking.

At this point, most people would stop using the product. However, if you stop, be prepared to be Pizza Face, because you're about to face the worst breakout you've ever experienced.

I'm 24, I've been using Proactiv for a year, have ceased seeing results MANY months ago, and the only reason I keep buying it is because I'm terrified of what happens when you stop. Thanks, Proactiv.

I purchased Proactiv over a year ago, and realized it didn't work when my co worker asked me if I started the system (I had been using it for over 2 months).

I thought it work well in the beginning then I started to notice wrinkles under my eyes, then came the flakes and dry patches. I was told by the rep to use the moisturizor on top of the benzo loation. I did, then my face turned extra extra oily. I was never able to gain control of my face. And after washing with the clenser I could literly scratch dirt and sweat (I go the the gym alot) off my face. Thick icky dirt would be under my nails. I still have backheads, and really deep whiteheads. Guess I was fooled again by TV.

It works well, however you need to use in conjunction with cetaphil moisturiser and cleanser for good results. Use proactive 2-3 times a week and the rest of the time use the cetaphil...it will stop proactiv from being too harsh on your skin and will stop it getting worse. Worked for me!

My skin looks brighter between the increased blemishes. Acne has gotten worse, skin texture has improved. I'd rather have rough clear skin, thanks.

i was very excited to first start proactiv when i did i was looking forward to haveing better skin well i broke out bad on the proactiv the itchy bumps the red skin even blotchy skin i didnt see that there was any warning to test if your allergic to benzoyl peroxide i think they schould warn people that they could be a chance your allergic my skin was on fire i had what the doctor called a chemical sunburn it was horrible i am not on cordisone 1% to get my face back to normal thank goodness it working so watch if your allergic then your really allergic

I have had rosacea with associated blemishes for years. I finally used a tax refund to have lazer treatment done to my face to help with this. N-light and photoderm did help with the rosacea, but the acne medicine they gave my did nothing to help with the blemishes. It was twice as expensive as proactiv. I thought why not try proactiv. My blemishes disappeared within a week. I use the 3 step system regularly and it is great. I still consider it expensive, but it is cheaper than some other medically prescribed products.
