Pros: clears up acne and "underground" blemishes quickly, feels like your giving your skin a facial, Cons: expensive, needs to be used consistantly daily, Bottom Line: For how bad and horrible my acne was before this product (even though it is over priced) is a miracle for my face! I do not have unrealistic "perfect" skin but it has made a HUGE impact! If I showed you before and after pictures of my skin you would SEE the difference imediately! I saw it on a comericial and tried it for 30 days! Cant live without it! I just hope it continues to work for me! I have been using it for about 5 months or so... LUV IT!!! *Where it says my acne is "Moderately severe" that is how it used to be now it is light and not too noticible. Recommended: Yes Usage: Ashlyn has used this item for a few months. Pros: The system does reduce my acne but blackheads are still a problem and I still have a few pimples every day. Cons: I never got that completely clean skin others take about. It dries out your skin a little bit. Bottom Line: The most concerning thing about this product is that it started bleaching out my towels and pillow cases. Pros: It doesn't dry my skin out like most acne solutions. No allergic reaction (which was a huge surprise) and actually controls oil. Cons: It wasn't the reason my hormonal cystic acne stopped ruining my life. My ob/gyn put me on lo-orval 28 and prior to thta, my dermatologist put me on spironolacte. Bottom Line: Proactive is a nice skin care but not an acne solution. It will not stop your horrible acne such as cysts or hormonal acne but, once you consult a dermatologist and an ob/gyn and they work together to figure out which hormones cause your acne, you can rely on proactive as a very nice skin care supplement. Once again, IT IS NOT an acne medication (as it claims to be) but a nice skin care. As a person, who struggled with hormonal cysts and terrible acne for over 10 years and finally got it under control at the age of 24, I recommend going on a pill and trying spironolacte and then, once your acne is under control trying Proactive. Pros: good moisturizer and topical treatment ease of use Cons: didn't work, to be a club member you have to set up automatic shipments and if you try to lengthen the time of shipments it customer service won't allow you to. pricey cleanser doesn't clean at all Bottom Line: Multi step program, need to wait a few minutes between each application, my acne worsened, customer service is a joke! They didn't adjust my shipment request like I asked and charged me anyway. The system didn't reduce my acne, but actually caused more pimples that I couldn't clear up. However, it didn't dry my face out like other products I've used. Definitely buy in the mall first...don't pay for shipping!!! Recommended: No Usage: Samantha has used this item for a few months. Bottom Line: It is the only product that cleared up my severe acne! I had used it for almost a year and it reduced my pimples significantly along with redness on my face! It increased it at the beginning but everyone noticed how much my skin had cleared. Murad did not work for me, any drug store products were drying my skin too much. I stopped using Pro-Active after a year and my skin still have blackheads and redness but I do not have ugly red pimples all over it. Unfortunately, after moving to Southwest, I could not used Pro-activ anymore because it started to dry my skin out too much. I still use their refining mask once in a while, though. I am not sure if climate added to that or other factors but I can honestly say that i had a dramatic results with proactive. Recommended: Yes Usage: Lana has used this item for about a year. Pros: It worked great. I seen results in a few months!I had really bad under the skin pimples on my chin and nothing worked so I tried proavtive. I don't know how it did it but it cleared all those lil pimples!! It doesn't dry up my skin at all. I hardly h Cons: The only I would reccomend is to buy it at the mall or where ever u can find it! I USE to get it shipped but my supply lasted longer then it was suppose to so I was paying too much for more I didn't need. Now I wait till I run out and buy it which is Bottom Line: Proactive works if u use it right! U have to wash ur face with the cleanser for a good 2 mins. Pros: Worked great when I first got it. My skin felt very soft after using it. Cons: I've used it for a long time and it has stopped working. I also think the cleanser is too abrasive, especially when I'm having breakouts. Bottom Line: I've stopped used Proactive and I've started using the Regimen. Pros: the masque sort or takes away pimples if you wear it as a spot treatment at night Cons: skin is dry, broke out. I have been trying to give this stuff a shot for over a year and nothing is happeneing Bottom Line: I started using this cause I had somewhat bad acne, nothin crazy..now everythime my skin looks clear I can feel a new cystic like zit coming up on sides of my face I never had zits before and they hurt...and I cant get rid of them for weeks. Pros: works fast, fades dark spots, moisterizes skin Cons: none Bottom Line: some people say proactiv is too many steps..that is not true its a cleanser a toner and a lotion/ which is what you should be doing to your skin everyday anyway....the truth is....proactiv works...it has been the only thing tha has worked on my skin. i only experienced dryness with the product if i used too much of the product, you only need a litttle of the cleanser and a little of the lotion and you will see how soft and smooth your skin becomes within like 2 weeks of using it....it also faded my dark spots and gave my skin a glowing complexion, i have stopped using it couple times to try new products only for the acne to come back worse and end up going back to it....it truly is amazing.....some people complain about when you stop the acne comes back....well they should know, there is no cure for acne, so once you stop treatmen of course it will come back if you have acne prone skin Recommended: Yes Price Paid: 39.00 Acne severity: moderate Was this comment helpful?
