Pros: Helped my skin a tiny bit... Cons: Burned my skin and made it very dry and peely. Bottom Line: Overrated. It will NOT cure your acne. Don't waste your money on the garbage. Pros: It worked for MAYBE a week. Cons: It didn't help my skin at all. It has only made my breakouts larger and worse! It says 2 weeks and it will begin working, wekk it has been 3 months now of consistently using and still nothing. Bottom Line: I had a horrible time ordering, I feel as if they con you and rip you off. It is FARRRR from being worth the cost! Pros: it worked a bit for a wile Cons: it stoped working and didnt do much for my skin. Bottom Line: do not use this!! it was to expensive for what it does for your skin...just get a perscription for a gel from your dr. it will work much better. Pros: Worked well for 5 years on my mild acne. When it stopped working for me proactive refunded all of my money. Cons: Didn't help when I developed severe acne and actually made it much worse. Bottom Line: I used proactive since I was 16. Until 21 this product appeared to help keep my mild acne at bay. My skin wasn't perfect 100% of the time, a blemish here and there but nothing too bad. Then 1 week before school started my face exploded. I kept using proactive, thinking that it had to help, it had in the past. But my skin continued to get worse. After washing, my face felt raw and I dreaded the burning that came with applying the toner. My skin began to flake and at one point cracked and bled. That's when I went to a dermatologist. She diagnosed me with severe cystic acne, after my life of pretty clear skin. She gave me moisturizer and a gel that has 5% dapsome as the active ingredient, along with a prescription for antibiotics. Bottom Line: Proactive works well for some and not for others and that can even change for a person from year to year. Proactive is worth a try because of the 60 day money back guarantee. Pros: At first, it immediately cleared my skin and brought out a beautiful new complexion Cons: Inconsistent. It's been a few years now, and I'm starting to break out again and am considering switching Bottom Line: I have been a hardcore believer in Proactive for at least 2 years now, and was shocked to hear that people found that the product didn't work. But recently I have decided to go off birth control, and unfortunately my breakouts have reappeared. Which of course makes me think that proactive wasn't what was clearing my skin! It's been months with the same areas broken out, without any change. After some research, I've recently decided to switch to another brand. Pros: Skin feels smooth, clears up acne in the beggining Cons: after a few week, it stops working, its expencive to order online. seems as though it bleached my skin, so my face is whiter than the resat of my body. after a while it seems like its not working at all. Bottom Line: I wouldnt recommend it, all the hype is a load of crap. they have obviously air brushed their pictures online. I was expecting great skin, and it didn't happen. i wouldnt bother again. Pros: NONE Cons: Proactive is the WORST acne product I have ever used. I had a good skin, not great,until I decided to use proactive and my face went bananas the first few weeks. Bottom Line: I thought that by the next month my face would get use to it and I will start seeing the WONDERS of this product. But that did not happen and my face got worst. They say you will get your money back in 30 days but that is also a BIG lie, because they refused to refund me my money. Recommended: No Usage: Matt has used this item for a few months. Pros: repairing lotion has saved me, cleanser is exfoiliant. Cons: more than usual dryness from repairing lotion but it zaps acne, but takes a day or two. After several years not receiving consistent results, considering switching/looking for alternative. Bottom Line: I began at 16 and your skin needs to adjust when you begin using the product, so I had intense acne on my left check that resembled a rash for 3 months that made me feel awful and ugly. But once it cleared and my skin got used to it it has kept my light acne under control for the last 7 years or so. However I am wondering if it is effective anymore. At 23 I am looking for something less harsh and that doesn't dry out my skin and keeps its smooth and easy to apply makeup. maybe want to switch to acne.org products because my sister has switched from proactiv to those new products and she's more than thrilled. However I am afriad of the outcome of quitting Proactiv and starting over, when I am an actress and need clear skin. Pros: It is rather affordable as far as acne kits are concerned, they have awesome customer service, and it works WONDERFULLY! Cons: I can't think of any! Bottom Line: My friends recommended Proactiv to me, they have used it for two years now, and their skin is AMAZING: absolutly NO breakouts, even tone, smooth, just plain beautiful! I have sensitive skin, so I use the Rare Minerals mositurizer by Bare Essentuals morning and night following the Repiaring Lotion. Also, I use Rapid Clear spot treatment for the occosainal zit, rather than the Refining Mask, becuas it is slightly gentler and it's clear so I don't leave my pillow case white!
