Cons: Proactive repairing lotion contains ceteareth 20 which is a MAJOR comedogenic (it can clog your pores and actually cause break outs) Bottom Line: Don't buy Proactive. You can get 2.5% BP products otc for WAY cheaper...ie: Neutrogena on the spot acne treatment. You don't need all of the so-called steps the proactive tries to sell. Pros: cleared up my skin right away! my skin looks better and feels better! I feel it is VERY affordable Cons: sometimes I feel a little bit of burning and it dried out my neck. Bottom Line: So many people have said that proactive is expensive but have you ever bought anything other that a face wash from a drug store? go to any salon or department store and just try to beat this price! Pros: It helped clear up my acne Cons: i can only use it alone, and not with the system. I use different face products and this BP Bottom Line: Its great but don't get the entire system because the bp and harsh chemicals in all the products screw up your skin. Use gentle products or natural products in conjunction with the ProActive BP. Overall its a great BP By itself Recommended: Yes Usage: Jennifer has used this item for about a year. Pros: Works well, failry easy regime to follow Cons: Lost effectivness after 4ish months, Having to listen to cheesy testimonials from heavily paid pop stars.. Bottom Line: Proactive worked so well for me. I initially used it in combination with my topical antibiotic (DalacinT) which was fine. Then ran out of Dalacin and used it on its own, still fine. But now am starting to break out again, maybe I should keep the two together again? I never really found it 'smoothed' my skin all that much, or cleared my blackheads/under-the-skin tiny spots. Pros: Really helped clear up my skin. Lessened cystic acne, but didn't prevent it altogether. Lessened the duration of breakouts. Cons: Became too drying on my skin as I've gotten older. BP discolors clothing and linens. Ultimately contributed to increase in sunspots (even with SPF oil free moisturizer). Had to stop using. Bottom Line: I definitely recommend this product to teens and folks in their 20s and even 30s. It sure helped for me, and yes, it's a bit pricey (especially with shipping), but cheaper than a dermatologist. Once I passed 35, it seemed to be too much for my skin. Make sure you protect your skin with sunscreen when using this product!! You're much more sensitive to the sun when using this regularly. Recommended: Yes Price Paid: 20.00 Was this comment helpful? Bottom Line: I've tried a lot of different things to clear up my skin. I've tried salicylic acid, retin-a, differin, etc... This is much more effective at clearing up bumps and does it with less redness and irritation. Pros: keeps acne away, doesn't dry out my skin Cons: really expensive $28 a bottle at the mall kiosk Bottom Line: I love this stuff, I use it with dans clear skin regimen. I used to use dans BP gel and it works very well to. But the difference for me it the proactiv BP is more moisturizing and my skin stays more supple with it compared to dans, they however for me both work equally well at keeping acne away. I used to use the whole proactiv system but just using the proactiv bp with dans regimen works better for me, I also use %100 pure sweet almond oil the NOW brand after I wash my face and before bp and this has made a huge difference in my skin, more supple, even toned and glowing. My Regimen is: 1-Wash with dans face wash, pat face dry 2-Put 6 or 7 drops sweet almond oil in my palm and rub gently into my skin, wait a couple minutes 3- use a small amount of proactiv BP smooth on face gently, wait a couple minutes 4- use a small amount Lachydrin-5 moisurizer The results clear, beautiful, even toned, supple skin Recommended: Yes Price Paid: 28.00 Was this comment helpful? Pros: Results within days with this product, after having tried dozens of other products. Six months after starting to use this, and my very acne prone chin is clear as a bell Cons: Dries your face out at first, but you just need to adjust the frequency of use. Bottom Line: Worked extremely quickly and well for me. I was desperate, and couldn't really quite believe just how effective this was for me. May be expensive relatively speaking for a BP product, but I don't care with these results. Recommended: Yes Usage: Jan has used this item for a few months. Bottom Line: pfft.Pro active did not work at all for me. I have mild acne,I finally found a product that does wonders for my face. I wen't to a derm. and he told me to get something called Replenix. You can't buy it at the store or prescription anymore. Have to buy it online. It truly is amazing it will clear up your skin and leave your face beautiful. Pros: No RX required Cons: Expensive, Dried out my skin Bottom Line: I used this product for 6 months and it did nothing but dry out my skin. I suffered from moderate acne before starting the product, but it became severe by the time I was done. I have finally decided to see a dermatologist.
