Pros: Easy to use. Cleared up my acne quite nicely. It took three months of dilligent use to get it all to go away, but it worked. And it is still working four months later. Seven months of improved and maintained skin! Cons: Increasing the amount you use is neccesary. I have to coat my face like crazy with the stuff. So needless to say I go through a lot of the bottles. Drying can happen if I'm not careful with returning the moisture back to my skin. Bottom Line: I would totally recommend the product if you are looking for a good benzoyl peroxide lotion. Pros: the result are great at the beginnning Cons: after 2 months your clean and beautful face do a 360 with unexpected breakouts Bottom Line: good product for a moment. be carefully and have knowledge of how long pro active will take effect and stop working. Make sure you have a quick back up product to clear up new breakouts that form after pro active stop working. Right now im suffering from scars that pro active caused. Pros: This works well - on its own! I started using a basic good cleanser plus an exfoliant several times a week because my skin needs that in combination with this (no toner like with the Proactiv system), and my skin is looking great! Cons: The price is ridiculous to buy it alone, and since I don't want or need the rest of the system, it's an unnecessary expense. I think I'm gonna switch to Dan's MUCH more inexpensive BP gel and hope it's just as effective. Bottom Line: If you can afford to spend the money, give it a try! Pros: It works if you use it twice a day with the other things, It makes your skin nice Cons: It bleaches your sheets, clothes, eyebrows, hair..it stops working after a while..its kind of expensive.. Bottom Line: I liked it when I started using it, then it started to bleach my hairline and my eyebrows and I had people asking me if I dyed my eyebrows..I would recommend switching between this product and another..but Clean & Clear has one with the same ingredient for $6 Recommended: Yes Usage: Caroline has used this item for about a year. Pros: Cleared skin up, maintained skin clear. Cons: Addicting. Once I stopped using it, it's like my face NEEDED it....I broke out...more than I ever have. Pros: Works great Cons: A bit expensive and the benxoyl peroxide bleaches out bed and bath linens. Beware. Bottom Line: I started using this product in my 40's due to cystic acne that never went away. I am still using it at age 53 and love the skin care regimen. It seems when I get breakouts they are in areas where I do not apply the product, such as right along the hairline, in nose creases or on the bottom of my chin. It really works when applied. Pros: Great fix for 4-5 months Cons: Stops working there-after! Bottom Line: I was so excited when my skin cleared up after only 2 weeks of using the Pro-active system. I was clean n clear for about 6 months when for no apparent reason my acne became resistant. Pros: Clears up an individual blemish well when used overnight. Cons: Drys out skin if you use to much. Pros: By itself, it works miracles for me. I use it day and night, and rarely get an occasional zit now. Cons: Mainly price, and the hassle of dealing with a "club" and their aweful customer service and billing mistakes. Make sure to cancel all monthly shipments, before they send you more and charge your card even more! Bottom Line: Using this, by itself- not the whole P.O.S. proactive kit, works great. I just wash my face with a fragrance free soap (Pure & Natural), and only use this lotion afterward, and I dont have to worry about breakouts. As a teen, I had aweful acne. The only thing that worked for me in my teen years, was either prescription treatments (pills and creams), or proactive. Now I'm 25 years old, and I still am stuck with acne. But its under control, now that I've found out what actually works for my skin. People say that because the main ingredient in this is the same as OTC products, you'll be fine with the store bought alternatives. Not really, if you have acne! Almost everyones' skin reacts differently to different products. I have yet to find a store bought product that works for my skin, besides Stridex Day/Night. But that isn't sold near me anymore. Pros: Worked really great. My skin had never been this clear and I used it every other day. Cons: Caused chronic sinusitis and eventually severe allergic reactions to benzol peroxide and salacylic acid. Bottom Line: The product is great for most people but since I'll never be able to use it again, it wasn't worth the six months of my life it took away with doctors and treatments. Now I'll only trust a dermatologist rather than a faceless company that gives no warnings about the possible consequences for taking their product.
