I love the repairing lotion. It feels so smooth when it goes on, and it's totally helped my complexion and acne :) Honestly, I really think it's a load of crap how you are 'supposedly' having to use a pound of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide on your face; and "ramp up the dosage". I don't think that's right because I didn't even have to apply that much to my face for my skin to be clear. A good thin-medium layer is fine. :/ You get what you pay for! Just because it doesn't work for someone elses skin, doesn't mean it won't work for you!

This product has worked wonders for me. I had never had a period of no clear skin, but over the last several years, they had become unbearable, with large, deep cysts that seemed to hurt my entire face. (Adult acne. How wonderful.) The Aveeno products helped some but not enough. I have been using the Proactive products for about a year (only once a day - twice dried out my skin too much. I have been using the Aveeno products for my morning cleansing.) and they are still keeping my face wonderfully clear! I sometimes have a pimple or two, but they are always small and go away quickly. Quite frankly, it has worked better for me than anything, including prescription products.

It works very well for me; you can request your three-part kit to not include the toner (salicylic acid) and replace with another lotion or cleanser (BP). I've been using it for several years now on this 44-year-old facewith no loss of effectiveness. Glad I found this site, lots of good information here.

This product resulted in large, cystic outbreaks rather than the normal surface acne I usually have. Skin also became very red and flaky, even with a heavy moisturisor. This is the worst product I have ever used.

This works very well indeed!!!!! But its too bad that I bought this from my Pakistan friend who sold it half full and added some lotion just to make it look full.... But I highly recommend it!!!!

I suffer from moderate acne: seem to break out badly occasionally with multiple large nodule-type zits at once, but normally it is not so bad. I have used the proactiv system for a while now and the lotion is the best part and it seems to work for me for the most part: i never got clear skin but it has reduced the problem to a manageable state i am comfortable with. What usually happens is that I will breakout and become very careful about using the lotion (dont use the toner as much: have a box of unused ones, and perhaps it will be useful to really try the whole system) and the problem will go away. Inevitably, once i get clear my discipline about using it goes away and i only apply it occasionally until i break out again. I even discountine the deliveries, only to sign up again next time I break out. So, I haven't used it entirely as they recommend but I am still happy with the results partly because I never expected to get baby-smooth type skin with no zit. Also, my skin is oily so dryness and redness haven't been much of a problem: in fact I really like the lotion formulation because it DOESN'T dry.
Here are a couple of tips in using the lotion:
1. Once you run out you can slice open the container with a knife in the middle (dont slice all the way so you can "close" it ) and use the left-over lotion that can't be squeezed out.
2. Make sure that if you use colored sheets or pillowcases, you apply the lotion a good 10-15 minutes before you go to bed so that it can be absorbed by your skin and won't discolor the fabric. Also be very careful rubbing some off on colored clothes for the same reason.
Other suggestions for improving your acne:
1. Make sure you spend at least some time in the sun: obviously avoid sunburn, but if you spend all your day indoors, you will be depriving your skin of something it needs.
2. Diet and exercise are important. My acne improves greatly when I exercise regularly, and eat "right". I had a spell where I really watched my calorie intake and went to the gym 3 times a week, and at that time my acne was a non-issue. I take flaxseed oil capsules (maybe I should try the liquid stuff) and fish oil and drink a couple of cups of green tea every day, as part of my "healthy" diet. Even if the correlation I've observed between diet and exercise and acne is just accidental, you can't lose by watching what you eat and living a healthy lifestyle.

The only Bp I can use that doesnt break me out, and dry my skin up to no tommorow. Proactive works, I would ditch the toner though and use DDF glycolic toner instead. The only downfall, is that it is expensive, but I will pay to be clear!

The whole system seems to work great! And the repairing lotion has fixed up minor break outs, too. But paying for all of those celebrities to endorse it has made it really too expensive.
