What it is: Clindamycin usually comes in a solution, a gel, or a lotion, and is normally applied twice daily.

What it does: Clindamycin phosphate is an antibiotic which kills P. Acnes, the bacteria that causes acne.

Burning, itching, peeling, redness, and dryness were the most reported side effects in about 10% of people.

Diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, and inflammation of the colon have been reported.
