Being a male in my late 30's this is a good wash. I apply this in the shower with about a tablespoon to my face, after I have washed my face off with a mild soap. Then within seconds I rinse it off. I also like to use it for the back . I apply it to a soft scrub brush, then wash off. I am not a big believer in keeping benzoyl peroxide on the skin all day unless there is a specific breakout(s) that needs attention. Sometimes I still breakout but rather that then have a red face from constantly using peroxide.
It is hard to find 5% peroxide. This might be a better solution for mild to moderate acne if you want to keep it on the face all day.

This product works well. The only problem I encounter is the overdrying of my face which causes me to have flaky skin. This product irritates the skin in the winter but works well in the summer. Also, I don't know if its just me but the areas of my face that have the acne are always red. The redness doens't go away. Is the product causing the redness?

This product works very well to clear acne. The only problems I have with it is that it makes me have these horrible wrinkles around my eyes and it's extremely drying. I've tried several moisturizers after using it, but still find my skin dry. Other than that...it's a good product that does what it claims. I suggest if it dries your skin, use it once every 2 days.

I am 25, have very mild problems with pimples, and have tried every combination known to man to deal with breakouts. I have found a combination of Salicylic Acid Face Soap (I like Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser) and Benzoyl Peroxide (Oxy Maximum Strength) to be the most effective, even more so than Proactive. It's a winning combination!

This really cleared up my skin. Benzoly peroxide I found works better than anything. Whenever I dont use this product, I get new pimples..the only bad thing is it irritates and drys my skin. Better than having acne again though. Try it!

I had been using Proactiv and happy with everything about it except price. Then I tried a less expensive knock-off called K/Clear Action (spelling?). I had the problem of using up the face wash much more quickly than the other two products in the kit. And for Klear Action, I only found it in drugstores all packaged together. I happened upon Oxy, looking for a face wash with benzoil peroxide, and decided to try it, since the price was right. I normally passed up oxy and clearasil, since I'm not a teenager (I'm 32). But aside from bordering on being a bit too strong, I really like the Oxy. I find it very effective, even more so than Proactiv. If it's too drying, I just lay off it for a day or so. But I've found nothing OTC that works better on my skin than benzoil peroxide.

This is an average run-of-the-mill acne treatment. If you have minor to mild acne, it will work well. For moderate on up, I would suggest you either see a doctor or try Proactiv, Zenmed, etc. This product is very drying, stay away if you have a condition such as eczema.
