I have been on the pill for 8 years and OTC Lo for about 2 years. I think it works great, but you have to find the right pill for you. It will not work wonders for everyone. Although, I have noticed a bit of a change in the past 2 or 3 months or so. My period starts later in the week, usually Wednesday and because it has been arriving later, it continues to stay longer. I will begin a new pack on Sunday but still be spotting until Monday night or Tuesday. However, that has really been my only side effect which has also been recent.

I have never been on ortho tricyclen, but I used Ortho cyclen in the past. I LOVED ortho cyclen and it almost completely cleared up my skin. I wonder why most doctors prescribe ortho tri instead of plain old ortho. My gyno said that the regular orthocyclen was better because you would not experience breakthrough bleading. It cleared up most of the acne on my face back, chest, and arms. I have since stopped taking it for insurance reasons, but I did try the patch, and it was a horrible experience. I bled continuously and my skin broke out worse than ever. Oh yeah the differnce in ortho cyclen and tricyclen is the of course the dosages are cyclical I think in the tri cyclen pack. Every three pills contain a diffrerent dose or something, but orthocyclen is not like that. Oh yeah and my weight was regulated because I no longer suffered from mood eating.

I love taking the "Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo" (Birth Control)! I had No weight gain and my face cleaned up so much!I have been taking the pill for 7 years. I got on it after I had my son. I also did go up from a B bra size to a D! It really worked for me! It doesn't hurt to try it! I just recently got off it because I plan on having another baby and since it has help me so much it scares me a little to get off it! As far as my face or if I am going to lose or gain weight! Over all it's been Wonderful for me!!! I have nothing negative to say about "Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo"!!!!! Good-Luck everyone!!!

I went on this stuff for my skin and it did wonders!!!!!! However, it makes you gain weight like crazy and turns you into an emotional wreck!!!! I have never been so depressed in my life! Oh, and also my bra size went from a B to a D! I wasn't to impressed since I was big into gymnastics before....

PLEASE READ THIS!
I just switched over form regular ortho tricyclen to lo. This is the WORST mistake I have ever made. I was taking regular ortho tricyclen for acne but changed to lo. This is my second month on lo and my skin is breaking out like never before. If anyone is going to take the pill for acne, please do not take ortho tricyclen lo!!!

I have been on Ortho Tri-cyclen (regular) for a month and a half. My period is finally regulated, but MY FACE IS TOTALLY BROKEN OUT!!!! Yes, my skin is softer, but what good is soft skin if you can't even see it through all the acne on your face. This has been the worst experience with acne control. I have also experienced a weight gain of 5 lbs. (And I workout almost 7 days a week) I WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!! PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE. GO WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND!

I went on otc for my acne, its my second week on it, I haven't seen any differece yet , but am hopin I will soon, side effects I havent seen any yet, but I was on it back when I was a teenager, am in my 30's now, so I hope it works, is a lot cheaper than proactive and am kind of ify about trying that......

I'm 15 and have been using this method for about a year now, it still hasn't cleared up my acne completely, but it is getting better slowly, I do not get huge breakouts anymore only the random zit here and there. My f4riends keep commenting on how my skin is clearing up, I think they are more excited then I am. I have had no side effects, no mood swings, no weight gain etc
It would probably be a lot more effective if I didn't miss a pill out atleast once every 2 weeks -__-

I 've been on Trinessa for about 4 months now.My acne got worse, I have terrible mood swings , I gained weight and overall it makes me feel terrible.
This month I will go back on Ortho.It is more expensive but It's woth it.

I am on day 12 of my first pack of OTC (regular, not lo). I have already noticed an AWESOME difference in my skin; it is no longer oily, my pores are virtually non-existent, and, for the past week or so, NO NEW BREAKOUTS. This is a major accomplishment, as I was previously waking up each morning with a new zit or cyst. Also, I haven't experienced any of the alleged side effects (no nausea, headaches, etc.). OTC IS A GODSEND :)
