Ortho Tri-cyclen helped my acne out a great deal, I had lovely skin. Sadly enough my insurance company switched to Trinessa, made me vomit and nausea, I stopped after 3 days. Now I'm about to start OTC-Lo, hope it works on my skin like to regular OTC

STAY AWAY FROM THE PILL! Im still suffering from it! I am 23 years old. I NEVER had acne. I had a pimple here or there, but only when I had my period. When I was about 16 my mom thought it would be a good idea to get me on the pill because other girls my age were on it. Within 3 days of taking the pill I started breaking out. I told my doctor, and she kept switching me to all different brands of the pill. NOTHING got rid of the chronic acne that started to develop on my chin, around my mouth, and on my forehead. I have tried EVERYTHING and have seen several dermatologists about my acne. The only thing that really worked was taking 100mg of doxycyclin twice a day for like a year. When I thought that my acne was gone for the rest of my life, it slowly came back. I guess the bacteria grew immune to the doxy? SO 7 years later, im still in agony over my acne. It's not as bad anymore, but I still NEVER go one full day without a pimple of some sort near my chin and mouth area. It is devestating. I recommend practicing abstinence or using condoms!!!!!

I spent so much money on chemical peels, retin-a, microdermabrasion, every antibotic on the market and nothing worked for my acne. Then my dermtologist tells me about ortho-evra and it cleared up my skin. However, after 3 months later I started breaking out again!!!! I don't know what to try next??

I have been using Ortho Tri Cyclen (the regular doseage not the Lo) for over 6 years and I love it. My skin is amazing, I haven't gained weight and Im no moodier than usual. My periods are regular, I actually know when they are going to start, and are very very light. Additionally, no babies yet! I think people who are having no luck with OTC are maybe trying the OTC Lo, which doesn't have as much estrogen (which I was told is the acne fighter). Either way, I think its fabulous!

My doctor prescribed me Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo after Ortho Evra was making me break out really bad. I've never had a problem with Acne in the past, So I was devastated when the Ortho Evra made me break out the whole time I was on it for about a year. I was excited about the Ortho Tri Cyclen because I thought it would clear up my skin. It actually made my skin EVEN WORSE! I tried to wait it out for 4 months thinking it would get better, but it never did. I got terrible migranes and my periods were longer and more painful. I finally even went to the doctor for a prescription for my skin. Everyone's body chemistry reacts differently. This pill was not for me. The doctor gave me Mircette to try next. Has anyone ever tried this? Hopefully it will clear my skin.

I am 28 ans have always had pretty bad acne and very painful periods since I started having them in the sixth grade. Thur the years my periods became worse not just during them, but I had pain almost constantly-especially during sex. Once I was diagonised with endometriosis and had surgery in 2001, the doctor put me on otc skipping the sugar pills at the end so I would not have a period-since that is what aggrivates the endo. The pill has helped me a lot!! I no longer feel awful because of the endo and I can have a pain free life. I do not have to plan my life around my period and how I might feel. It has also done really well for my acne since mine was hormonal and not topical. I do have anger issues, moodiness, and some depression, but it is really much better than having the endo come back and having awful pms, periods, and acne. I have just learned to live with and handle the side effects because its better than the alternative

It works for it's primary job, but as far as anything else. I gained about 40 lbs the first few months after being thin all my life, can't get it off and have gained even more. Acne kinda cleared up, but it's caused a lot of depression, migraines and even though my period is almost nonexistant and consistant, don't know if it's worth it.

This cleared up my acne. I was on it for 3 years. After getting off the pill, my acne returned - big time. I can't wait to get on it again and clear up my face!

I'm currently 17 years old and around the age of 11 when I hit puberty I developed a terrible acne problem. My doctor tried everything and nothing worked so eventually she suggested going on birth control. My mother was a little hesitant because I was only 15 at the time but I was optimistic because pretty much I was willing to try anything. My doctor put me on ortho-tricyclen lo and within months I was seeing a difference in my complexion. I started using it in conjunction with Pro-Active and my face was CLEAR. I just recently changed pills because I wanted a lighter period but now I am going to have to go back on Ortho-tricyclen because it has been the ONLY thing that works for me. This new pill that I'm on (Loestrin) has caused me to have insane breakouts and now I have my senior pictures.. great.. So I would say GO WITH ORTHO-TRICYLCEN, IT WORKS.
