Ortho Tri-Cyclen (Birth control) Reviews

I started using Tri-cyclen 1 month ago. I have never had acne before, but my periods where very irregular. All of a sudden (about January) I began breaking out non-stop. On my chin and jaw line only. Every other day I had 2 more pimples. It was horrible and I'm sure if you have acne you know what I mean. I cried myself to sleep and the more I stressed the worse it got. I finally went to my doctor who recomended this pill. She said her daughters used it and it cleared their skin up. My skin has gotten a lot better, but I still do have some pinples, very tiny though and easy to cover up. I'm hoping that by the third month it will be SO much better. I recommed you try it..believe me I have tried evey cream there is even Pro Aciv and nothing works...because it's hormonal not topical...so try it!!

Used OrthTriCyclen for about 3-4 years. Switched from TriPhasil to help w/ acne. I'm very, very regular w/ light periods and limited cramping (much less than before BC). Very few PMS symptoms (mild acne break-out & breast tenderness two weeks before period). Not sure how it affected my sex drive. But it does dry my eyes as a contacts wearer. Other than dry eyes, I love OTC regular.

I switched to OTC Lo and am not sure how I feel about it. I'm on my 5th month. In 4th month, I've noticed my skin is more acne prone and my breasts are tender for 7-10 days, rather than 2-3 days on regular OTC. I think the lower estrogen levels on OTC LO is not beneficial for me.

I think the whole "gaining weight" thing really depends on the person. I am generally one who retains a ton of water before my period, and since starting ortho, i have lost so much weight that i fit into my skinniest jeans! so i would really recommend trying it and not jumping to conclusions about weight gain.

This pill worked great for my skin, but it made me moody, tired, and I lost my sex drive.

I'm 23 and I just had my first baby 4 months ago. For the past month I have been taking this pill. As far as I can tell, for me, the side-effects are pretty mild. I have had a few headaches and my period came as soon as I took my last dark blue pill. I suppose that's probably right on time. I used to get terrible cramps with my period and those are reduced also. I haven't had one zit since I started taking the pill which is a relief after constant breakouts while I was pregnant. The problem I have found with this pill is one only for those of us with excema. I have, for as long as I can remember, battled with it on my face. Starting about a week ago, the small red spots on my face have grown into red blotches almost covering my face. It's unbearable but still I will continue to give this pill a chance. Afterall, I would rather have a red face than another small crying baby right now.

I used to break out with acne constantly, this completely cured it after 3 months of use.

I was lucky and had absolutely no side effects that are sometimes normal with the pill. (Tri0-Cyclen) After about three months, it started to clear up my acne but before those first three months my skin broke out like crazy. Same thing happened for awhile after I came off the pill. Ultimately there is no way to tell how it's going to affect you but it's a good thing to have in conjunction with the regimine if you don't have any of the other side effects.

I have been taking orth tri cyclen for 2.5 months. It is making my skin about three times worse than it has ever been. I have actually lost weight since I started it. I have a mild stomache ache a few hours after I take my pill. So this month I started taking it at night instead of the morning and now I just wake up with stomache ache as soon as I step out of bed. I would like to try this pill for another month and see if body can get use to it. I don't know if I can deal with my skin looking this bad though it is ver depressing.
