i've had acne since i was 13, i'm 16 now..still suffering. At times throughtout many different treatments ( first off store bought products, clindoxyl gel, differin, retin-A from lowest to highest %, staticin) I found my acne got better then worse again. Right now i think it's at it's worse point... i've been using proactiv for a little over a month, and tried Tri cyclin lo for 1 month(made my face break out, found out its not even for acne) then switched to tri cyclen regular and been on that for 2 months... but im not satisfied i still have like 20 pimples on my face not to mention many red spots. People say tri cyclen takes 3 months to start working for the skin, but my dermotologist said 6 months :o.. im hoping my skin WILL clear up within that time. i will continue using proactiv.. anyone else have to wait a long time for tri cyclen to work for the skin??

I just recently started taking Ortho Tricyclen Lo (about 1.5 months ago), and now that I'm reading these posts, I'm beginning to have regrets!
About a week into the pills, I broke out and had strange, red rashes around my nose, eyes, and chin. I got a facial, and the derm said it was definitely a rash, but I didn't know what could have triggered it. Besides taking the pills, everything I had been doing was normal. So, I think I can safely attribute the break-outs and the rash to the birth control pills now!
I was iffy about pills from the very beginning, so this isn't helping me much. I'm going to finish this pack and then just go off of them. Besides, I felt like the OTC Lo made my period heavier and it wasn't any shorter. Thanks for all the comments...they've helped me come to my final decision!

I recently started Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo a month ago. I have had horrible break-outs, worse than before, and my sex drive has gone way down (use to be extremely high), I'm 25. Also, I have a headache everyday and I'm sad allot. I am on my 2nd pack of pills, and I think I'll give it the three full months to see if it clears my skin, and if not I'll switch to the regular OTC, because I took that 3 years ago, and my skin was completely clear on that one. I thought the Lo would be better with less side effects but so far, it's been worse with more side effects.
