My dermatologist prescribed this to help with the red marks left after a massive lithium induced breakout, not the acne itself. My skin was mostly clear by the time I started taking Nicomide though it has continued to improve to the point where I only have two tiny pimples and I'm sure the Nicomide has something to do with the that. I wish we could post pictures in the review section so I could show you the difference it's made! I still have marks but they're so much lighter and pretty easy to cover with makeup at this point. I just filled my first prescription which I'm to take twice a day. Up to today I was using the samples my dermatologist gave me which I was only taking once a day so they would last longer. I can't wait to see how much better things will continue get with the increased dose! Highly recomend for red marks!

Pros

  • Has helped tremendously with red marks!

Cons

  • None, I've never taken it on an empty stomach though.
  • very light
  • for about a month
  • $ 10
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I feel much better about putting this into my body than all the other oral products. It's working for me. No side effects other than the upset stomach if not taken with food.

Pros

  • Works great on redness and inflammation. Still get minor pimples but duration is greatly shortened. No dryness.

Cons

  • Be consistent. Do not skip a dose or results are not as good. Take with food or you will get sick to your stomach. Cost.
  • moderate
  • for about a year
  • $ 50
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I'm FACING the nodules again. I greatly miss the product and am upset.

Found a good thing.....then poof!...it was gone

Pros

  • Nicomide is the only thing that has worked for the painful nodules and redness I get associated with rosacea.

Cons

  • It is not available. And it is no longer going to be marketed as a prescriptive. (The tablets nor the cream.)
  • moderately severe
  • $ 80
  • I recommend using this treatment.

it costs a lot since my insurance doesnt cover it, its supposed to help with redness but i really didnt notice a difference at all. but like i said i usually give up fast with acne meds if i dont notice a change in a day so im going to try it for awhile and see what happens, im also on retin a micro which i love so it will be hard to tell if theres a change since it isnt the only thing im on.

Pros

  • may help with some redness? i didnt really notice a difference..but i do know most acne medication takes time so im going to stick with it,atleast for 6 mths.

Cons

  • i use the nicomide pills, generic brand nic 750,and nothing really happened...i used them before for like 2 weeks and i thought i saw a difference, but i may of just been fooling myself!
  • moderate
  • for about a month

In Ohio, this product is available without a prescription, but you have to contact your pharmacist to have them order it from their warehouse. This usually takes 2-3 days, they call you and you pick it up. It's simple! Nicomide-T come in two forms...cream and gel. I have only tried the cream and love it! I don't like anything on my face that feels thick or heavy. I use it morning and night (before bed). I wash my face, pat it dry. Put a drop of water on my finger. Add the 1/2 pea-size drop of Nicomide-T cream over the water and dab a little on each cheek, then quickly rub in. It dries quickly, that's why I use the water. I have read some online reviews from people who have tried the gel form and their face reacted with red blotches. I do not have real sensitive skin and have not experienced any problems at all. I would advise to apply on small area a couple times before using on entire face/neck. For me, this is a miracle cream! I wish I knew about it a long time ago!

Pros

  • Nicomide-T CREAM is the only product that has worked for me. I've seen a dermatologist and I've tried everything -- including Proactive and Differin Gel. I read about it in my HEALTH magazine and tried it. I've been using it for over 2 years now.

Cons

  • Cost, but it is worth every penny. The 30g tube lasts me about 8 months. You only need 1/2 a pea-size to quickly spread over face or neck. It dries quickly, goes on thin.
  • $ 35
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I use 4% topical Nicotinamide gel for my face and it is the only thing that has ever helped my acne. I used to get large painful cystic acne that scarred and now my face is clear, with no acne at all. I have honestly tried every OTC product and several prescription creams and antibiotics and this is the only thing that has completely cleared my acne. It is a clear and lightweight liquid that feels like water almost but it can leave my face looking shiny unless I put makeup on afterward.

Pros

  • Inexpensive, effective, no side effects like other products.

Cons

  • Not available in any drugstores around where I live so you have to buy it online and wait for it to get here.
  • for a few months
  • $ 10
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I have been using the Nicomide-T Cream, which you can buy online without a prescription at [link removed]. This cream is one of the best acne treatments I've ever found, especially now that I'm 27 and coping with adult acne. Whenever I need a new tube of the cream, I order two just in case! Niacinamide is a natural acne treatment, basically just vitamin B3 which is good for inflammation. There have been a handful of medical studies on this supplement for treatment of acne. It works! It is especially good for those of you with sensitive skin, since it does not cause any dryness -- in fact, it promotes really soft skin. I only use Nicomide cream at night, since it is very emollient, and leaves your face looking a bit whitish and very shiny! Before applying it in the PM, I wash with the Murad acne cleanser. In the AM, I use the entired Murad acne complex system -- which I also love. The Nicomide is just that extra boost that my skin needs!

Pros

  • does not dry out skin; evens skin tone; one tube of the cream lasts a long time

Cons

  • very creamy; not something you want to put on in the morning and wear all day since it leaves your face quite shiny; more of a night treatment
  • for a few months
  • $ 30
  • I recommend using this treatment.
