Pros: helps reduce redness, no harsh side effects Cons: none really, i was really surprised with how well it worked Bottom Line: I went to the derm and was trying to get on accutane. She said i needed to fail another antibiotic before i could get accutane so i was like whatever i'll take doryx, even thought i hate antibiotics. i told her that i was interested in a more natural approach to helping my acne so she prescribed me with nicotinamide. at first i started taking te nicotinamide with the doryx, but about 2 months in the doryx left me with cysts all over my chin. so i stopped and just started taking the nicotinamide and no my skin has really cleared up. i don't know if its gonna last, but for the time being it looks much better. Pros: The orignial Nicomide cleared my up after while, but they discontinued it due to sales and now im taking the generic equivalent. Hey SHELLY how long did it take for you to see results and are you taking the generic of the original Nicomide tablets? Cons: Generic is taking a long time to work. It's been over 2 months and no real results. Bottom Line: The original works...not sure about the generic yet. Recommended: Yes Usage: Jarred has used this item for a few months. Pros: Have used Nicotinamide for about 1 year and my faced has really cleared up. I used other acne medication that didnt work and left my skin and scalp oily. I get only a few pinples here and there now.Insurance will not cover though! Recommended: Yes Usage: Shelley has used this item for about a year. Pros: Has helped tremendously with red marks! Cons: None, I've never taken it on an empty stomach though. Bottom Line: My dermatologist prescribed this to help with the red marks left after a massive lithium induced breakout, not the acne itself. My skin was mostly clear by the time I started taking Nicomide though it has continued to improve to the point where I only have two tiny pimples and I'm sure the Nicomide has something to do with the that. I wish we could post pictures in the review section so I could show you the difference it's made! I still have marks but they're so much lighter and pretty easy to cover with makeup at this point. I just filled my first prescription which I'm to take twice a day. Up to today I was using the samples my dermatologist gave me which I was only taking once a day so they would last longer. I can't wait to see how much better things will continue get with the increased dose! Highly recomend for red marks! Recommended: Yes Usage: Daisy B. has used this item for about a month. Pros: Works great on redness and inflammation. Still get minor pimples but duration is greatly shortened. No dryness. Cons: Be consistent. Do not skip a dose or results are not as good. Take with food or you will get sick to your stomach. Cost. Bottom Line: I feel much better about putting this into my body than all the other oral products. It's working for me. No side effects other than the upset stomach if not taken with food. Recommended: Yes Usage: Colleen has used this item for about a year. Pros: Nicomide is the only thing that has worked for the painful nodules and redness I get associated with rosacea. Cons: It is not available. And it is no longer going to be marketed as a prescriptive. (The tablets nor the cream.) Bottom Line: I'm FACING the nodules again. I greatly miss the product and am upset. Pros: i have been using nicomide vitamins for 3 and a half months Cons: you dont see results right away so be very patient Bottom Line: I highly recommend this product this is the only thing that worked for my acne that i have been suffering for 3 yrs Recommended: Yes Usage: luciouslisa has used this item for a few months. Pros: may help with some redness? i didnt really notice a difference..but i do know most acne medication takes time so im going to stick with it,atleast for 6 mths. Cons: i use the nicomide pills, generic brand nic 750,and nothing really happened...i used them before for like 2 weeks and i thought i saw a difference, but i may of just been fooling myself! Bottom Line: it costs a lot since my insurance doesnt cover it, its supposed to help with redness but i really didnt notice a difference at all. but like i said i usually give up fast with acne meds if i dont notice a change in a day so im going to try it for awhile and see what happens, im also on retin a micro which i love so it will be hard to tell if theres a change since it isnt the only thing im on.
