Pros None
Cons Definitely the cost, raised hopes, travelling to clinic
Bottom line Having suffered with acne for 30 + years, and tried everything there is to try,I truly believed this would end the years of torment. The operator came across with all this medical spiel and told me that this would DEFINITELY work, paid my £1200 for 6 sessions and was full of hope for an acne free future. 1st 3 sessions, came away with nothing but very red skin followed by huge cystic breakouts, told this was to be expected. 4th,5th treatment, no better, was told I should have glyclocic peels once a week .then it would work, hand over more hard earned money. At the end of all this, my acne is no better, probably worse, its cystic now, and I am still paying back the credit card bills. So very, very dissapointed.Since found out that it only works for about 40% of people, wish theyd told me that before I handed over the cash!

Pros Completely got rid of all my whiteheads, and it has stayed that way.
Cons Skin became much more sensitive and red- spots are still present
Bottom line As I was using a topical antibiotic (erythromycin, brand name: Aknemycin) as well as the NLite laser treatment, I feel the benefits were mainly caused by the solution rather than the laser. This is beacause after my second, and latest, laser session, my skin remained the same- even though it was at a higher level.

I was able to receive treatment on the NHS (National Health Service), and that is why it was free. However, if I had to pay as much as everyone else- NOT RECOMMENDED! Stick to trying all possible other routes/antibiotics.

Pros Um.....Um......nope
Cons The cost. The dashed hopes!
Bottom line I can't speak for everyone but I think as with any acne treatment some things work for some people and not for others. I had to travel 2 hours each way to my nearest provider of NLite. It cost £150.00 a session. (A non refundable cost is also the £25.00 pre consultation - at your 1st session)
The 'nurses' at the place I went to in Exeter were not particularly friendly either.
Any way I had 1 treatment and was told to expect a breakout followed by improvement at 2 weeks. I had a breakout but no improvement. My 2nd session was at that 2 week mark. I was treated by a different girl who told me after the 2nd I could REALLY start to see improvement...my 3rd session was booked in for 4 weeks later. 3 days before, I cancelled as my skin had only become progressively worse! As I say I think for some it probably does work. I wasn't one of the luck ones though....NEXT? P.S. That 2nd treatment was about 2 months ago.
Price paid $150.00

Bottom line It was my second intensive treatment, the machine kept cutting out and I wonder if this was a factor or had the machine been put on the wrong frequency because a few days later I ended up with the most awful eruptions - I had never had acne this bad before - pustules upon painful pustules and I remained like this for three months of the summer of 2005 - working with a bandaged chin and no social life! Two years down the line I am now experiencing another bout of terrible eruptions in one of those very sites - I am on 2000mg of antibiotics presently, bandaged chin again. I know this laser damaged my skin and intend to get it checked out. If the pain and the unsightly looking afflicted area bad enough I have concerns that there could be more sinister effects of this treatment. Whatever you do - stay away from the N-light laser treatment - please!

Pros looking much better after two sessions
Cons having to be patient!and cost but so far its worth it
Bottom line can some other people who didnt get theirs done at any of the "private clinics"write in please.the amount of times ive read how the nurses are so helpful and the products they sold were so great do the staff think people are stupid and wont realise half of the reviews have obviously been sent in by them!anyway i wrote a review in not long ago and ive now had my second treatment due to have my third in a weeks time.Scars and redness have definately faded quite a bit and im even using a makeup with lighter coverage as my skins a lot smoother.still secretly hoping theyre just going to disappear overnight but we have to be patient.got about four stubborn spots at moment the ones that hurt but where ive had laser no more have come up he targets only the spots that are there at the time so anymore that appear in different places will have to be treated next time.by the way you dont need any follow up products with this so dont be conned!had couple microdermabrasions in between seems to help

Pros no downtime youd never know id had it done!my last resort!!!
Cons never heard any1 else say this but thought it hurt a bit wihat a wimp eh!
Bottom line im genuine unlike some of the other posts ive read where everyone goes to the private clinic(what a coincidence eh)i went to the aesthetic beauty centre in sunderland to see a qualified gp not a nurse no disrespect!having had peels there before i went back to ask dr dutta about nlite when my skin broke out again after years of being spot free.id seen nlite advertised in various places and went for a consultation.he told me id have to be patient as this isnt an overnight cure and could get worse before better.i went for my first treatment four weeks ago and was pleased to see my skin hasnt relly got worse infact my scars seem to be a lot more faded and my spots went down after a couple of weeks. lately i had a little breakout but still looks much better.im going for my next treatment tonite so il let you know how i get on.praying it clears up loads more for my hols in jan fingers crossed!he also told me you need to treat a very small area at a time to prevent causing more scarring!

Bottom line It was very effective treatments. I had 4 sessions, and my acne and the scarring have cleared up. I only have a few deeper old scars left. The nurses at the private clinic gave me some great advice on, not just the treament itself but products as well (which I can't live without now!) but all round good experience that has filled me with confidence.
Price paid $1,200.00

Pros cleared up acne, skin is softer and smoother.
much better than antibiotics and dianette.
Cons expensive! products they gave me has caused dry skin around mouth area - minor!!!
Bottom line I went to the private clinic in manchester. The staff were very helpful and sympathetic. I have had 3 n-lite treatments - 2 weeks apart. After the 1st treatment I had an outbreak. I've just had my 3rd treatment today and I am very pleased with the results. My skin is soft, - a bit dry around my mouth due to the products they gave me - thinking of going back in a few months for a chemical peel to get rid of scarring.I am very happy with the results so far! definately worth the price

Pros pain free, soothing treatment
Cons expensive, results may take months to be seen
Bottom line i had my first set of 2 nite session about 5 months ago and now my skin is clear of spots but i have alot of scarring left. ive just had another n lite 3 days ago. apparently after each treatment it takes about 3 months to notice a different so if you have 3 treatments it will take 9 months in total to see an improvement. also my treatments are always about 45 minutes long....3-5 mins seems to less. i have a glycolic peel too which is included in the price and the laser takes about 15 minutes. im going to wait about a month and see if theres a difference and then i will book in for another one!

Pros Very good results
Cons No cons
Bottom line I can strongly recommended NLite as it cured my acne. It got worse before it got better as expected, but the final results were excellent.
I had my treatment at The Private Clinic, Harley Street. The nurse was very professional.
Price paid $600.00
