I thought this product was the miracle cure for the first week. Now that I've been using it for about two months, my skin is the worst it's ever been. My skin is now a constant oil slick and broken out in more huge red bumps than I've ever had.

i purchased this product after using proactiv. proactiv worked great at first. then stopped working so i tried murad. the packaging is awesome, but that's about it. my breakouts only got worse. AND it costs more than proactiv. so i am back on proactiv hoping it will work for me like it did the first 3 years i used it.

Worked for about 4 months...the last two months I have went from 3-6 blemishes to 100's (no joke). I have the HUGE bumps, tons of blackheads, small bumps (similar to rash). Before my breakouts were on my forehead and chin...FACE is covered now.

If you would have asked me in the inital 4 months I would have highly recommended the kit....totally different story now. The product works differently on every person & external factors also effect results.

FYI...ProActive is even worse and left major scars!

After reading all the bad comments, I just wanted to share my experiences. I've had acne for the last ten years, and tried countless different treatments, from drugstores to doctors. Benzoyl Peroxide never worked for me, and always irritated my face. About two years ago, my acne became very severe. My friend bought this kit for me.
It took a while (a few months) and some additional breakouts, but my skin went from very embarrasing, severe acne to only a few blemishes, and it's still improving. This is the first thing that has really worked for me, and not irritated my sensitive skin too much. It sounds like it doesn't work for everyone, but it's the first thing that really worked for me. I finally have skin I can go out in without makeup and look good... it's awesome.

It didn't make my skin worse, but it certainly didn't make it any better. I do like the clay mask that came with the kit, but the acne treatment gel was SO irritating (as its alcohol based). My skin was super red--I had to always wear make-up, or I looked sunburnt on top of the acne. I've switched to paula's choice--cheaper and WAY more effective.

Worse product I've ever used in 15 years. I had such high hopes when I saw the commercial and the nice package arrived in the mail. WHAT A JOKE!

The product caused my acne to get MUCH worse, causing cysts and blotches all over the place. ProActive, while not a great product by any means, was better than this stuff.

The "cleanser", "toner/repairer", and "moisturizer" all feel greasy and heavy. They caused more frequent whiteheads, and a few cysts that I am still recovering from. My acne has never been worse at this point.

I wish I did my research first. I was so swept in by the commercial, I jumped at it. What a mistake! I'm returning it this week.

Murad didn't work for me at all. I'd been using Proactiv but I decided to give Murad a try after someone recommended it. The salicylic acid gel really stung. After a few days, my acne got really bad. The Complex Acne set lacks a toner. As a result, I think my pores got really clogged causing more breakouts. So if you have really oily skin like I do, I would definitely recommend getting the toner with the acne set if you intend on trying Murad. On the upside, the clarifying mask included in the set is pretty good. But everyone's skin is different and Murad has a 60 day return policy so I suppose it's worth a try.

acne complex is definitely an info scam!! dr. murad is the biggest liar i know! there is nothing miraculous about the system and salicylic acid is no miracle ingredient. i am on the system for about 3 weeks now, and it has done nothing for me. first of all, 1.0% of salicylic in the cleanser does not remove 99.9% of bacteria as dr. murad promises which is nothing compared to any clearasil or neutrogena you can find in wal-mart.the exfoliating acne treatment gel did not help either, it made my skin itch and burn when i put it on even when it was 2 weeks after the so-called skin adjustment period- he said to use it only at night for the first 2 weeks. the skin perfecting lotion which really sounds promising is nothing but greasy moisturizer. actually, this is the worst in the system because it made me break out more. i believe that skin should be dry for the pimple to heal, not greasy!! luckily, i was on antibiotics and it helped. i suggest people on the purging period should take this advice because the antibiotics speeds up the process.how to use the product is also confusing, they showed that you use cleanser, gel, spot then lotion, but when i looked it up in the website it was cleanser, gel, lotion, then spot. i am really pissed about this product. for those of u that are thinking about it, you might as well use over-the-counter products first (neutrogena, clean&clear etc..) because there is no difference. i am convinced that i will return the products with my money back of course. i really feel sorry for all those that are suffering. this product is nothing special at all and if dr. murad is not one of the best but the worst dermatologist in the country.

Murad works for me. Probably because I use it correctly.

1) Diet will KILL the healing process. If you maintain a bad diet while on ANY treatment (bad being: Taco Bell, 7-11, McDs, any fast food),it won't work well.

2) The "purging" process is necessary. It prevents future breakouts because it draws out and kills all the impurities of the skin. It makes it worse, yes, which sucks beyond everything I can think of. But unless you go through it, nothing will improve.

3) Step 1>2>3>4>5 in the morning and evening. Religiously. Just do it. Takes weeks/months to heal, yeah, depending on the severity of the skin's problem. That sucks, I know, but what other choices are there? Accutane or all organic diet. Period.

I'm trying a well-balanced diet + Murad + Vilantae. I'll see what happens.

I tried this and was hopeful that it would work. The price and the packaging really made one feel confident that they knew what they were doing at Murad. I wish that I would have looked at the message boards first. It was a complete waste of money, as well as it made my skin MUCH worse than it had ever been before. I stuck it out for over two months, but finally had to abandon it. I then had to go to a dermatologist to try and regain the skin that I once had. This made everything ten times worse!!!
