This has turned my skin into a mess. Now I am getting large painful pimples that I never had before on places like my jaw and on my cheeks that used to be fairly clear. I hate it

LOUSY! I am 25 and get a few pimples before my period each month. I had been doing 2.5 bp regimine thats on this website but was looking for something that would diminish my whiteheads. I saw the infomercial for Murad and thought I'd give it a try. They give you two months to try the product. I used Murad religiously and exactly the way they tell you to use it. The first few weeks I noticed it made my skin much smoother and soft but then I began getting extremely painful cystic acne that I haven't gotten in years. I also got acne in places I'd never gotten them before (inside my ears, jawline, cheeks). As the weeks went on the acne got worse so I stopped and returned the items just before the two month trial period was up. My face was left a mess because of murad and I immediatley returned to using the program on this website. Now a month later my skin has returned to pre-Murad shape and I will stick with the 2.5 bp regimine on this site--its the only thing that consistently controls my acne.

I have been using Murad for 15 years. In the beginning it will cause breakouts. But with time, it cleared my skin up. Does it do a perfect job? Of course not. What product does?

It is important to use it morning and night, religiously. For some it doesn't work. For me it was a life saver because I'm allergic to BP.

The regular exfoliation is good for the texture of my skin too.

I completely agree with those that have agreed to just say "no" to Murad. I am afflicted with fairly moderate acne from time to time, but enough that I want to get control over it. So I sought help with Murad, just as I did with Proactive, Clearasil and so many other products. But unlike these other products whose only fault is that they simply did not work, Murad caused breakouts on my face in places where I had never had issues in the past, especially along the jawline and cheek area. Not only did I break out, but I now have hyperpigmentation in those areas, where none was before. I also have two small raised bumps on my right jawline, and this I have never experienced before. I am glad I stopped the using the product when I did, no telling what else would have occurred.

Under no circumstances should a product cause breakouts of this magnitude before clearing one's skin. The Murad company is obviously not familiar with the psychological toll that is brought on those that are afflicted by acne, whether moderate or severe. The last thing an acne sufferer needs is a supposed remedy that works to promote the disease.

Luckily, I've returned to simply cleansing my face with a hypo-allergenic wash and so my face is finally clearing and the hyperpigmentation is clearing too....I've been using Elicina and a micro-dermabrasion kit by L'Oreal to combat the hyperpigmentation.

Bottom line is this; Murad is not worth the 30-day risk!!!! Please be careful!

I've tried everything! I even did two rounds of accutane. that worked great for five years, I forgot what acne was. Then I started getting a little pimple on my chin around my period. I thought that was horrible after not having any acne for five years. But now its back, worse than before. I tried Murad for about two months and it is AWFUL! For the first week it cleared up fantastically, and I thought I had finally hit the jackpot. Then one morning I woke up to a disaster. My face is still recovering from it three months later. I should have just been happy with the once a month chin breakout. Murad ruined everything!

I have to agree with most reviewers, Murad is the worst. Benzoyl peroxide is more effective.

I used this product for over 3 months. At first my acne got much, much worse, then one day I awoke and my face was clear. It stayed wonderfully clear for months. Then my acne came back same as before. This product is very expenisve and does not work consistently. Save your money.

I never had bad acne, a few blemishes here and there...I thought the Murad would help to clear that up. I have used it for two weeks, and my face is horrendous. I have severe blisters where I applied the spot treatment, and I am breaking out more than ever. I feel as if the product burned my skin... I have no idea how to recover from this - I think the scarring is going to take time to heal. I do not recommend this product at all.. it destroyed my skin. I'm now trying Philosophy's Acne Kit.. I hope it repairs some of the damage Murad did.

I am so disappointed with Murad that I am writing a review! I have been using this kit religiously now for 6 weeks and my skin went from nice to bad. I am 25 with combination skin that hates getting zits. I always have 1-2 zits on my chin or forehead (I know it is not bad so I figured Murad would help). All Murad did was take my skin and cause it to freak out. 6 weeks later I have 4 large cystic type zits on my once flawless jawline, along with small blemishes on my cheeks. I was even told by a close friend "what happened?". I have to say the face wash and lotion are nice but the treatment products are really harsh and make your skin itchy and red and flaky and zitty!!! I am extremely disappointed with Murad. I am even more mad that when I contacted them they told me to be patient and this was still the purging process. I thought it was only 3 weeks not 6, plus my skin is showing no sign of ever getting out of this damn purging process. They even had the nerve to try to sell me more products like vitamins. I am getting off Murad today and returning my bottles for a refund. I'd rather go back to my old skin. Now I have to find something to get rid of the scars on my face left over from these big cystic zits. Save your money and your face! Do not buy this product.
