Pros: none Cons: Broke my face out even more. This product is horrible. I thought for the price it would work, I was wrong! I got very large painful acne after using this product for 5 weeks. I got proactiv and it is finally clearing up. Bottom Line: Don't waste your money. Recommended: No Usage: Maggie has used this item for about a month. Pros: The cleanser felt like it left my skin clean and fresh. Reduced my large pimples. Cons: Made my skin extra oily. Gave me a bunch of tiny pimples all over. Bottom Line: I've been suffering with acne since i was 12 and I'm 22 now. I've been on accutane three different times and it was a miracle drug, it left my face flawless but of course the results did not last. Before I started with Murad I would get large individual pimples and I would always pick and it would leave red scars. Since I started using Murad four weeks ago, my pimples have greatly reduced in size but left me with small zits all over my face. From a distance my face looked better but up close it was just a bumpy mess. Also it made my skin even more oily than it already was. Initially I thought it was the lotion that caused it but I think it was the treatment gel. I'm going to stop the Murad and use a retin-a & duac combo, I heard that works pretty well. Although my skin is alot better than it was when I was in my teens, I still do not want to have to deal with acne. Recommended: No Usage: Noreen has used this item for about a month. Pros: Nothing at all! Cons: This product is not good for african-americans, not only did it break my face out even more with blackheads and whiteheads, it gave me facial hair! I hate this product! I had pretty smooth skin and just wanted something to prevent me from having acne Bottom Line: Down to the point, if you are an minority! DO not use, im being totally honest here! Pros: Cleanser and lotion smell good; cleanser tingles and gives you a clean feeling. Cons: Made my acne WORSE THAN EVER! Never-ending "purging process". Hated putting exfoliating gel on my skin: thick and tacky... made my skin burn for least 10 minutes after putting it on. Bottom Line: I had mild acne prior to using this product. Being greedy and wanting perfect skin, I tried Murad. BIG MISTAKE! I did get some purging within several weeks but stuck it out in hopes it would get better. On the contrary, the purging got worse with continued use. My forehead is covered in blemishes that will not go away! My face is so tender and painful... I used to be able to feel comfortable going out in public without makeup. Not so anymore! Now, no amount of makeup can conceal the ugliness. This product may work for a minority, but there is no way I can recommend it. Recommended: No Usage: Christine has used this item for a few months. Pros: Easy-to-use packaging. Always promt and reliable with delivery of the product. Cons: Exfoliating gel is sticky and smells awful. Toner is also sticky and caused face to sting and burn. Spot treatment did not work. Quite expensive. Bottom Line: I've used Murad for a bit more than a year. It worked well enough at first (albeit I broke out initially), but has failed to do the job for about three months now. The only product I didn't mind was the cleansing gel, and even that doesn't work. I found the exfoliating gel disgusting, and the lotion made my skin greasy. It's also far too expensive, and the company sends unnecessary amounts (probably just so they can charge you). Consequently I have a major backstock. I think right now I have more acne than I started with, so yesterday I quit Murad and switched to Vichy Normaderm. We'll see how that goes. Pros: none Cons: horrible, makes ur face very very bad scarring everywhere Bottom Line: i used this product for maybe a little over 8weeks and i thought my face would get better but it just got worse. my face was really clean about two years ago but after i stopped taking care of it it broke out again, so i thought i'd use murad during the end of my freshman year in college. over the summer my face has gotten worse than ever before. right now im back on acne.org regimen and face is slowly getting better but there are LOTS of scars left from murad and it also leaves tiny cysts. i strongly suggest not to use any of their products as its just a ripoff and it actually makes ur face worse. Pros: The lotion is not to oily for my skin, it works well all day. The clenser feels great on my skin. The mask and spot treatment worked great also. Cons: The gell made my skin feel sticky, and somtimes it made it sting. Also, the gell dosnt smell very good. Bottom Line: Although i was a bit concerned in the beginning, because of the purging in the biggining, but i stuck to it and it was great. My skin cleared up... i had the occasional whitehead (about once a week) but all of my under the skin horrors where gone. I loved it!! i stopped using it about a month ago and my skin is right back to where it started :( im going to get some more tommorrow:) Recommended: Yes Usage: Sara has used this item for a few months. Pros: The first couple of days are fine.. Cons: and then your face explodes into severe, painful, cystic acne the like of which you have not seen before. and to think about how much you paid to have your face this destroyed... it is so depressing. i really wish i had read these reviews before. Bottom Line: this product will thoroughly damage your skin. it did mine, to the degree i am self-conscious at work and hope i don't run into anyone i know while i'm out. please save your money and self-esteem and try something else. Pros: This is the first product that has been able to keep my acne under control. Cons: I don't find the Acne Spot Treatment as effective as products that use benzoyl perozide. My face does get a bit shiny during the day. Bottom Line: I love this product. I tried Proactive, but it did nothing for me. Murad works great for me. I love the alpha hydroxy Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel - that has been the key to keeping my breakouts at a minimum. The Skin Perfecting Lotion makes my face feel hydrated, although makes my face a bit shiny. Still, it's nothing like the oil that I had prior to using the product. I also use St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub a few times as week, and Smashbox Anti-Shine mattifier every day to keep the shine down. I still break out around my period, but get 1 or 2 zits vs. the 30 I got before. Even dealing with Murad has been great. I don't use the products as frequently as they are mailed out, so I requested a hold be put on my account - and have had no issues. Trying to quit Proactive was a pain in the ass - they kept sending me more products, expecting me to pay for them, or pay to ship them back. The price-point is fair, as well. $60 for two months worth (which last Recommended: Yes Usage: Dawn has used this item for about a year.
