Pros: Money back guarantee (except for the shipping!) Cons: Doesn't do a damn thing. Bottom Line: A few years ago I'd been using a prescription benzoyl peroxide product (Duac) that had worked very well for a long time but had recently lost some of its effectiveness (either that or my skin had just changed and gotten worse). Unfortunately this coincided with me being up late one night and catching a Murad infomercial. I am seriously a sucker for infomercials so I ordered the entire system and within a week after I began using it my acne got REALLY bad. I don't think that something in the Murad caused my skin to break out; it was mostly the fact that I'd switched from the Duac, which was moderately effective, to something that was not effective at all, despite all of its slick advertising and packaging. And the worst part was I believed them when they said it would get worse and then get better and kept using it for way too long which caused lasting damage in the form of red marks and scars. Pros: They mailed it to me. Cons: Hated it. Made me break out a zillion times worse, skin hurt and it's hella expensive. Bottom Line: I will not use it again, and would never reccomend it to anyone. Pros: Initially very good. Not a cure for my acne but certainly the best I've tried. The best thing about it is the way it leaves my skin feeling really clean & unclogged. Cons: I have fair, sensitive skin and I have to use Murad very carefully, otherwise it dries-up and burns my skin. Recently I have had very nasty breakouts - most likely caused by Murad. Bottom Line: After several months of use I can say this stuff definitely works but it has not completely cleared my acne, probably because there is no way I can use as per the instructions. I use it now about twice every fourteen days, any more than that and it burns my skin, and recently has caused some really, really bad breakouts - spots that look terrible & take literally weeks to clear up. I don't think these spots are 'purging' but seem to be a nasty reaction of some kind. My advice is try it - but be careful. Recommended: Yes Usage: LR has used this item for a few months. Pros: Does make your face feel clean Cons: Pricey, some products in kit smell medicinal Bottom Line: This product made my skin worse. I completely understand the "purging" process but one would think that if a product is supposed to help your skin, the breakouts from purging would clear up at some point. Mine didn't. I only used system for 2 weeks but blemishes did not clear up or look like they were even close to getting better. They actually scabbed up! Pros: You can have a refund :) Cons: It burned my face It made my T-zone greasy! The price for this isn't justified Bottom Line: My face is worse than before I started the product The step 2 "gel-exfoliant" irritated my skin painfully! Proactiv is way better.. it's not as irritating and it smells so much better than Murad. Recommended: No Usage: Thomas has used this item for a day or two. Pros: Makes your skin feeling soft. Reduces Redness Cons: Small bottles Purging period was/is horrible. You must do it twice a day. Bottom Line: I would, but you have to be patient and take the time to use the product everyday. And if you have a purging period, be patient, it only lasts maybe up to 2-3 weeks. Pros: Quick results! You can feel it work and leaves skin soft and smooth. Also, you just feel like your face cant get any clearer. Pores are shrinking. I love it! Absolutely no skin drying/irritation like with Pro Active! Cons: You may need a separate moisturizer for after the exfoliation. Bottom Line: I'm on my second month [when they send you the big bottles] and I haven't had my skin this clear since before I had acne..about 6 years ago. I feel sooo good about myself now and didn't even know this skin was possible. I did not go through any purging period btw which was lucky. -The cleanser is really tingly, which I love. It reassures that it is working when you can feel it in your pores. -The Exfoliating gel dries pretty quickly and then you put on the lotion, which I don't believe has any acne benefits in it. Its just to calm the skin. So you can use any other gentle face moisturizer. Be sure to do the routine everyday morning and night. The improvements really motivated me to stay on top of it. If I do see a breakout coming up [which I have only had two], I dab the spot treatment on and at night, dab some of the mask on and forget about it in 2 days. -Its sooo worth the price and im so glad I ordered this stuff.
