Pros: Moisturizes well, clean feeling, reduces oil, does not irritate/itch/cause dryness Cons: Time consuming, expensive, feels tacky, causes shine, bottles do not pump (can harbor bacteria when touching the dispenser), does not prevent pimples, customer service SUCKS, does not reduce red marks, does not help blackheads Bottom Line: Up until two weeks ago I was on the three step Acne complex kit for about 6 months. I used it twice a day every day and the clarifying mask once a week. At first I did notice a grainy feeling on my forehead and the sides of my face as oil surfaced and dryed up after cleansing (this stopped after the first three weeks). For me, it greatly reduced the amount of oil on my T-zone, but the exfoliating treatment gel caused tackiness and shine so I still appeared oily. I still had regular breakouts so this did nothing to prevent acne for me, but it did slightly reduce the life of smaller pimples. None of the products in the standard Acne Complex kit did anything for red marks or blackheads. CLEANSER: moisturized skin and washed away oil, EXFOLIATING GEL: tacky, caused shine, SPOT TREATMENT: noticeable, prolonged life of pimples, MOISTURIZER: matte finish, not oily, absorbs alright, MASK: reduces pore size, absorbs oil, works only on smaller pimples. Pros: Eventually it cleared up my mild acne, and the 30 day supply has actually lasted for months. It dried out my skin and caused a few eruptions in the first week, but after continued use it worked. Cons: My friend (who started using it at the same time) and I agreed that it made our skin look gray, dull, and lifeless even if it was relatively acne-free. So it won't provide "glowing" skin, but it does seem to clear up little blackheads. Bottom Line: You really only need the acne gel to get the results, so you don't have to buy the whole kit. I found the cleanser too harsh so I stuck with my own Spectrogel, and the mask is equal to any clay-based mask. The moisturizer is ok, but the tube is too small compared to the other products in the kit and it smells weird (a little like parsley and lemon). You have to ride out the initial dry skin and breakout phase - by the end of the second week I definitely saw results. Six months later, I now use only the gel every other day to keep my skin clear. Pros: none Cons: DESTROYED my skin. breakouts all over Bottom Line: please don't ever use this product. they say "don't worry, break outs are expected, thats just the pimples under the skins surface pushing through" complete BS. Pros: Doesn't have a foul smell. Did improve my skin for a month or so, but then just seemed to stop working. Cons: With my already oily skin, the cleanser actually seems to make it worse, and I never felt that my skin was actually clean. The treatment gel was a bit of a mess, it was kind of sticky and it felt like it was burning my skin. My face broke out badly. Bottom Line: It didn't seem like a bad choice when I began using it. My face would get small breakouts, but nothing to be ashamed of. I mainly wanted to try this because you were guarenteed clear skin in 4 weeks. To me, that sounded like quite a good deal ..and I figured since I only got 3-4 small zits, I'd get clear skin super fast. Well, it was the opposite. It broke out my skin, however, I kept using it ..just for the hope that it'd work. My skin actually improved for awhile but then it seemed like it didn't work anymore. Pros: None Cons: Everything Bottom Line: I have always had perfect skin up until 3months ago when i had a terrible break out on my forehead.. a friend recommended Dr Murad and so i went ahead and ordered 2months worth of treatment. And omg, my skin has never been so terrible, the first 3 weeks i didnt break out, but after that i've had acne like you wouldn't beleive and it has left marks all over my face... im so sad..now im using clinique acne complex..lets see how that goes.. i only read the good stuff about murad, i guess i didnt do my hmwrk by reading this site... but the person who told me about dr murad, her skin used to be terrible and this has really helped her, she has flawless skin..she has been using it for a few years now...good luck! Pros: REPS WERE FRIENDLY Cons: I FEEL like a FRICKKN ACNE PATIENT!! i was using pro-active havnin a couple breakouts one a month but NOW after using this product for just over 2 weeks i literally could BREAK DOWN and CRY..Im takn like 40 new zits, everywhere man, whiteheads, ..etc Bottom Line: STICK TO WHAT U KNOW. FOR ME ITS PROACTIVE . THIS IS SERIOU SLLY a FRICKKN waste of money time and emotion. the breaking out stage is WACKED MAN..U will REALALY feel like an ACNE PATIENT...REPS TEll u the same thing. Pros: The cleanser seemed to reduce the pimples on my face. The moisturizer was pretty good also. Cons: The spot treatment was horrible. It was way too harsh and it damaged the skin around my pimple. It made my pimple look worse than before. Bottom Line: I would not recommend this product for people with sensitive skin because many of the chemicals in this product are too intense.
