Pros The mask is amazing. Total favorite.
My skin cleared amazingly. I generally have no acne left. I'm still on it though and have been for 2 months.
Cons - Lotion doesn't hydrate enough. I had to layer it on my nose.
- It's expensive but to me it was worth every penny.
- Honestly it's impossible to use it twice a day. That's probably why a lot of people's skin was irritated and didn't clear. I used it once a day, and the exfoliating gel once every other day. It did burn, but the burn goes away.
Bottom line I have a question. If your acne is manageable, and light, and if you're a girl you can simply cover it with makeup, why bother changing your regimen?

I used to have really bad acne, so I'm thankful for what I have now. All I can say is to try it, you know what your skin can take, what works well for it, and what doesn't. But if you don't try it you'll never know. I read every single one of these a few months ago and still ordered it. No one says anything about my acne anymore, because I basically have none thanks to Murad. <3

Also, I imagine the ones that have the "none" cons, probably Murad workers. But then the ones talking about proactiv are probably working for them too. Which brings me back to my question, "Why bother changing your regimen if if gives you satisfying results?"

Pros None
Cons Makes acne worse
"Purging" effect never went away
Dries skin
etc.
Bottom line In all honesty, I used this product a year and a half ago for a little over a month. I should have reviewed it ages ago as it was a terrible product but I just never got around to it. At the time my acne was manageable, light with the occasional breakouts but I was sick of getting these mild breakouts so I decided to try Murad. After the first week my acne got noticeably worse but I expected it as they said there would be a "purging" phase so I stuck with it. In the second week I started noticing types of acne I've never had before such as tons of whiteheads and blackheads. In the third week I was positive it couldn't get any worse and that the acne must start getting better now... that wasn't the case. It was cystic acne ALL over my face in every spot and this was very very demoralizing, I wasn't sure what do do until I finally just gave up on it and threw it away. This treatment had made my acne from a few spots on my face every once in a while to an acne onslaught that... a year and a half later I am still having troubles clearing it up. It took me around 6 months after the treatment to "fix" what Murad had done to me and by fix I mean manageable. I highly recommend not using this product, and if you ever hear the term purging, please note that it should not make your acne terribly worse and it should not last for more than a week max. Currently, my acne oscillates from very light to moderate depending on location and season, but I noticed the products that helped my face the most was drinking green tea (very effective for the first 2 weeks - reduced acne from moderately severe to moderate) and using a gentle skin cleanser like cetaphil. Stevamycin is also a very effective product.

Pros Smells Good
Clear acne in one week
easy to use
Cons the purging effect
expensive
on the spot treatment tube not very much of it
Bottom line I use murad for a month and it work for only a week. Then thats when I thought the purging effect was taking place, well it wasnt at least for me it wasnt. For the last month in a half I have more pimples then I ever had before even my friends notice it. If murad works I believe it to be the spot treatment and the mask only working. Because when I was out of that stuff my acne was breaking out left to right top to bottom. Never happen before. So murad I hate you at least proactive lasted for two weeks instead of one

Pros The cleanser is very cool. it is very soothing to the skin. Also the skin perfecting lotion was very hydrating.
Cons At first, i thought it was going to clear my skin. The first week is good, because it made my skin firmer. But the following weeks it made my acne worse! Breakouts come all over and it is ridiculously uncontrollable, but i still continued it to the fear that it would get worse if i stop it, but, it made my acne way more worse than ever.
The exfoliating gel is very irritating.
Bottom line Try it. If it works then you can post good reviews about it but if it makes your skin worse, then you'll be like many who are posting bad reviews about this product.

Pros Noticeable decrease in acne breakouts
Cons After using Murad once (the three step process) a few days ago, my skin is so irritated, dry, SWOLLEN, and RED!!! It's so much worse, I would trade 3 acne breakouts for the terrible feeling my face has right now. I do not have sensitive skin AT ALL, and I am suffering from this product. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they recalled this product.
Bottom line I will never recommend Murad, don't listen to the ads on TV, Murad will not decrease redness (it will induce it!), it IS like all other acne products that dry out your skin, except worse because it also makes your face swollen! Yes, Murad will decrease your pimples, but it will do so painfully. I put Murad on two nights ago for the first time, I woke up this morning with a swollen, red, and itchy face. My face is still itching and I just know my face will only get worse because I keep having to touch it! I am not the only one, look up alergic reaction Murad, and you will find a plethora of people like me, who have oily/combination (but not sensitive) skin who have had this type of reaction. Please do not try this product.

Pros The appearance of my skin looked better
Cons My skin continued tp get worse. At initial use it appeared to be getting better however the second week I started breaking out more. It's been a month and my skin looks horrible!! I have acne all over my face, definately worse than it was prior to using this product. I've used Proactive, Neutrogena, AcneFree, and now Murad. Out of all of the numerous products used, Proactive has worked the best, after using it for so long, it appears not to work as great. Next product I'll try is Max Clarity.

Pros Lotion is really nice
Left skin feeling fresh
Didn't take too long to use
Cons Didn't work
Spot treatment was a joke
Bottom line I used this product for about 3.5 weeks, some days my skin looked better, some days it looked worse. I got a lot of painful pimples (which I usually only get about one of those a month) the rest are cystic. Didn't help clear up blackheads.

This product probably does work for some people, it didn't necessarily make my skin worse, but it certainly didn't make it better and now I need to stop wasting my time and try something else.
