Pros:My periods are very regular--start on the same day, same time of day every month. They're also shorter and lighter than when I was taking ortho-cyclen. I've never noticed any moodswings, but I didn't have any problems w/ that on ortho-cyclen either
Cons:I think that it has caused maybe a lower libido-definatley a little drier than before. It doesn't really have any acne benefits for me. However, I'm just a pimple here and there kinda girl. I still get frequent headaches.
Bottom Line:I started this because I was told it could decrease the number and severity of headaches I get. I don't think it did either. Since I'm on prescriptions for my headaches now, I'm thinking about finding a different birth control. Also, my supplier is not going to carry mircette much longer, so I guess I don't have a choice about the switch. lol. Overall, I have had the same effects as when I was on Ortho-cyclen, except it has shortened my periods a bit--having one less day of period is quite a bit better, though.

I've been taking Mircette for almost 3 weeks. I took Alesse for quite a few months in 2004 and it cleared me up to "a pimple here and there." I'm noticing the same with Mircette, slowly but surely, as I expected, it's clearing my skin up. My weight has been the exact same (I always fluctuate 5 pounds like every couple days, from 90-95 so I guess I should get that checked out.) Anyway, I've had no mood problems. I'm worried about the comments about migranes, because I haven't used Mircette through a period yet, so I'm not looking forward to that if it happens. There's a slight chance it may have slowed my libido a bit, but I'm not complaining. Anyway, I'm satisfied so far, I can completely tell that I'll soon not have to be ashamed to leave the house with my skin, again. I'm looking forward to that :).

Mircette is the only bc pill i have ever been on. I find that it works great and I can not say that I get any sort of acne from it. I also have not gained weight since i started about 2 and a half years ago. I dont know its price but its worht it. I do get headaches but im not sure if its from the pill or from my studies.

I've been on Mircette for a little over a year now. It has been the only birth control pill that I have ever taken. I began taking mircette when I was finishing up school at ucla. It was affordable with my school insurance. But now that I am working full time, my insurance doesn't cover it. I just paid $143 for 3 months! .... I'm considering switching to another brand.... But I've had NO PROBLEMS with mircette, no weight problems, no ache problems, no headaches, nothing. In fact, during my first couple of months on mircette I began a rigorous diet and excersize routine and lost 30 pounds. Over the past year I've kept the weight off....

Mircette/kariva has been the only pill I can take that doesn't bring on full blown migraines. I have been on Mircette for about 2 1/2 years and have had an easy time with it; no weight problems, no mood swings, no bleeding, no acne problems. The only thing I am wondering is if it affects my libido/makes me dry at all. In the past 2 years that's the only problem I have consistently had and taking mircette was the only thing that has changed in my life. I am considering stopping the pill for a few months to see...

I took mircette for a year, a two years ago and I loved it. I stopped to have a baby, then this short 3 day period pill came out. I hate it and I am going to switch back to mircette. the 3 day period one causes you to spot when it's not even period time. gross. while on mircette, I had not side effects. I think I did get headaches ever now and then. Mircette is the best bc(haven't tried many)(LOL) I have tried.

Mircette has worked well for me. If I take it, I don't get cystic acne but I will still get the occasional regular pimple. I don't gain weight on it like I did on Ortho. However, the generic form, Kariva, gives me the worst migraines right before my period. We're talking ocular migraines where I see sparkles and sometimes lose part of my vision. The pharamacist swears the drugs are the same but my body doesn't react to them the same way.

I've been on mircette for three weeks now. I know that's not long, but my previously clear skin is breaking out again and I haven't changed anything but starting the pill. It has also made my boobs a little bigger. Other than that, I haven't noticed many side effects. I'm going to give it the three months and see if maybe my skin just needs to adjust. Will update.
