I was prescribed Minocin about 3 years ago, and I took the tablets once a day. My skin became really clear with only a few spots that were small. I felt really good about my skin, but then it started to get worse. My doctor said I might be immune to the antibiotics, so i changed to different ones. These didn't work so I started taking the Dianette pill. This didn't work AT ALL and my skin went extremely bad to the point where my the areas of my face which had spots felt swollen. I decided to go back on Minocin and (thank God) my skin is getting a lot better. I think I'm just going to stick to Minocin cos it seems the most effective. (Side effects I experience: extreme tiredness and drowzyness)

been struggling with Acne forever. started off with the usual facial cleanser, even bought Proactiv from those infomercials, but it didn't do much for my skin. I've tried tetracycline, Vitamin A acid and even Accutane! Still nothing.. the Accutane was brutal... I thought I was going to flake all my skin off lol. I saw the dermatologist again and he prescribed Tazorac cream and minocycline, I stopped taking them both after a couple weeks because it the Tazorac left me red and acne worse. The minocycline also made me dizzy, loss of balance. I thought to myself.. "If Accutane isn't going to work, what else will?!" I mean.. Accutane has often been regarded as the last resort drug... Well a couple days ago I decided to try the Tazorac and Minocycline out again.. and alas its gotten worse, but I'm going to stick to it until my 6 months are up, then if things are still worse or the same, I'll ask my doc for a 2nd course of Accutane with a higher doseage. My doc's a twit, he'll prescribe anything you ask. lol. Can you say... oxycontin? jk.

50 mg twice a day for 3 years. it cleared my skin after about 6 weeks and stayed clear for about 1 year. then my dr. suggest i cut back to one pill a day, to try and quit. well my skin got worse and it never got better. i continued for another 2 years hoping it would get better or at least stay under control. about 9 months ago noticed the inside of my mouth turning blue, teeth light greyish colour. went to a dermo who said all i can do now is roaccutane. but i need surgery so i put it off. continued mino another 3 months and my mouth is dark blue, freaked out and quit without tapering down. my skin is the worst it has ever been in my life! now i have acne on my chest and neck like a rash!

This product seems to be working fast, 100mg SID. Today is the 3rd day i've been on it and most of my pimples are not red anymore, most are becoming invisible.

I've had quite a history with acne so far. Last summer (from May till December) i was completely cure after a 4 month treatment with benzoyl peroxide cream - 5%. I quit using it in about May because my doctor said my skin is too clear to be needing it. My skin really looking like a normal person's.

In January, after I got sick with a few colds, I started to break out again. Went to doctor to get same prescription like last time, for same period, yet absoutely nothing happened, actually I began getting zits on my neck, which never happened before. Disapointed, I went to seek advice from the derm.

That's my litle story, now for this product:
I was prescribed Minocycline in Minocin. Next morning, when I woke up, I looked in the mirror and I was about to cry... I broke out with at least 10 zits on my face, normally I would get about 1 every day.

About 3-4 days later Cystic acne stopped completely and I began to break out only about once every 4-5 days, with 2-3 zits. In two more days, my skin would clear again, it would be zit free for 2-3 days and then another litle break out. Lately, I haven't had a breakout in about a week... It's starting to beat acne up more and more.

I've been using this treatment for almost 5 weeks, and I have still enough for 3 more weeks. So far I have noticed no side effects at all, experienced no pain, and even if you don't have medical insurance this product is fairly cheap. (It's about $1.5 CAD per pill and you take one a day.)

I'm pretty sure once I stop using it, my acne will fully return with full force, but it's worth a try.

Did absolutely nothing for me like every other thing I have tried. From time to time my skin would be slightly smoother for a day or two, then return as if I was never using anything. I ran out a few weeks ago and I was so frustrated with it that I didn't buy a new order, skin looks the same...aka could be alot better.
