been struggling with Acne forever. started off with the usual facial cleanser, even bought Proactiv from those infomercials, but it didn't do much for my skin. I've tried tetracycline, Vitamin A acid and even Accutane! Still nothing.. the Accutane was brutal... I thought I was going to flake all my skin off lol. I saw the dermatologist again and he prescribed Tazorac cream and minocycline, I stopped taking them both after a couple weeks because it the Tazorac left me red and acne worse. The minocycline also made me dizzy, loss of balance. I thought to myself.. "If Accutane isn't going to work, what else will?!" I mean.. Accutane has often been regarded as the last resort drug... Well a couple days ago I decided to try the Tazorac and Minocycline out again.. and alas its gotten worse, but I'm going to stick to it until my 6 months are up, then if things are still worse or the same, I'll ask my doc for a 2nd course of Accutane with a higher doseage. My doc's a twit, he'll prescribe anything you ask. lol. Can you say... oxycontin? jk.

I've had quite a history with acne so far. Last summer (from May till December) i was completely cure after a 4 month treatment with benzoyl peroxide cream - 5%. I quit using it in about May because my doctor said my skin is too clear to be needing it. My skin really looking like a normal person's.
In January, after I got sick with a few colds, I started to break out again. Went to doctor to get same prescription like last time, for same period, yet absoutely nothing happened, actually I began getting zits on my neck, which never happened before. Disapointed, I went to seek advice from the derm.
That's my litle story, now for this product: I was prescribed Minocycline in Minocin. Next morning, when I woke up, I looked in the mirror and I was about to cry... I broke out with at least 10 zits on my face, normally I would get about 1 every day.
About 3-4 days later Cystic acne stopped completely and I began to break out only about once every 4-5 days, with 2-3 zits. In two more days, my skin would clear again, it would be zit free for 2-3 days and then another litle break out. Lately, I haven't had a breakout in about a week... It's starting to beat acne up more and more.
I've been using this treatment for almost 5 weeks, and I have still enough for 3 more weeks. So far I have noticed no side effects at all, experienced no pain, and even if you don't have medical insurance this product is fairly cheap. (It's about $1.5 CAD per pill and you take one a day.)
I'm pretty sure once I stop using it, my acne will fully return with full force, but it's worth a try.
