Pros: i'v been on this for about six months, and my skin has been flawless! i dont even need spot treatments, and my skin care regimen only consists of a mild cleanser, its all i need. Cons: i have a sensitive stomach and lately the side effects have been pretty bad. nausea is the worst, but its worth it because my skin is perfect Bottom Line: good as long as side effects are manageable Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for a few months. Pros: been on it for week and a bit. after a couple of days my skin wasn't as red as it use to be. so far, i haven't had any major break outs, which is a good sign. hopefully this will keep up.. Cons: i haven't experienced any side effects so far.. Bottom Line: too early to tell. but its cheap :P Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for about a week. Pros: gets rid of the inflamitory redness of zits Cons: does what it says: Bottom Line: this product is not supposed to get rid of acne, it takes the redness/color out of existing acne. it does not prevent or treat the acne. thats what my dermo told me it was supposed to do. it works well. Pros: Cleared up my acne!!! =D Cons: Nothing but some flaky skin every once in a while. Bottom Line: About 3 days after i started taking Minocycline my acne came to surface like crazy!!! I had them all over my forehead for about a week... But then the second week or so my acne started cleared day by day and after about 3-4 weeks of taking only 50 mg my acne was totally by far clear!!! I looked like i was a newborn baby with all that fresh skin!!! =)) lol I have been using it for two months and of course (cause im a normal teenage GIRL) I will get the ocassinal pmple every week or so and maybe one big pimple a month because of my girl cycle...AMAZING pill and i think its just the same as Accutane but not the bad side effects and not so strong and its not bad for u like Accutane is... I recomend this to anyone that asks or has acne and just cant handle it anymore!!! My acne was mild to moderate... But now it is super mild to very mild!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!!! :-) PS... Pros: Did great job in clearing and keeping away my acne. Cons: Didn`t really experience any problems. Bottom Line: I developed acne as I went through puberty and stayed with me all my life. I am now 38. I tried everything i could get my hands on including massive dietry changes. I finally gave minocin tabs a go and couldn`t believe the results! I was so excited, it was probably one of the best thing that has happened to me. I was on 100mg to start, taking 50 twice daily after a meal. I was on it for about 5 years but for the last 3 years I dropped my dose to only 50mg daily taken every day without fail after lunch. I still kept a good diet and avoided the common acne causers like bad oils, fried foods, choclate etc...and never took the drug on an empty stomach. I don`t know if this helped or what but I never had 1 problem with the drug, and didn`t even keep out of the sun as was recommended. Finally been off it now for about year and half worried being on a drug 2 long and been taking a more natural approach which is working but not as good and a hell of alot more work! Pros: this works, for sure ! Cons: none Bottom Line: heres the deal : i started minocycline and within a month it cleared my skin complely ! then after a couple months i became resistant to it and my acne came back.. so beware of that. also if your on minocycline too long it will give you post-acne marks which take awhile to dissapear. GIVE THIS A TRY. just be careful not to stay on it too long and use a benzoil peroxide product with it to maintain your clear skin [: Recommended: Yes Usage: melissa has used this item for a few months. Pros: After taking it, I got less breakouts. It helped my acne. Cons: No cons because it works and I got no side effects. Bottom Line: It worked really well since I got less breakouts. I would get breakouts about every few days but now I don't breakout as often. Also, the sizes of my acne have gotten a lot smaller. Recommended: Yes Usage: Lisa has used this item for about a month. Pros: Cleared up persistent cystic acne for 40+ year old Cons: I'm not sure Bottom Line: My acne was getting worse and worse as I got older. I had been through a course of Accutane in my late teens and I think as I neared 40, it just wore off. I had terrible side effects with Accutane and just didn't want to try it again. After three plus years trying strictly topicals (Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, Tazorac, Benzaclin, Duac, Clindamycin gel) I decided to give in and try a daily antibiotic. I cleared up completely within a week. I've been on it for over a year and am still clear. I believe there are some side effects. I have grown accustomed to more heartburn, and I think I am more easily bruised than I used to be. But think about the psychological effects of acne. Anyone with severe, lifelong acne can testify that this is not a minor concern. For me, so far, the trade-off is worth it. Pros: NONE Cons: -lots of dizziness, naucea, headaches Bottom Line: I've been using these pills for almost two months now. I haven't seen a different in my skin at all whatsoever. I have frequent sizzy spells and headaches, minocycline only made them worse with the addition of the naucea I'd get. I even started feeling less hungry. Definetly not worth the money even though I paid with insurance. Recommended: No Usage: Julie J. has used this item for a few months.
