I have been on this for about three years now. Have had no side affects though my acne did take a while to clear up to a point where I was happy. I think my doctor is planning on reducing my dose soon from one a day to one every other day. Hopefully my skin will stay at this level. Note: I do have to get blood tests done every three month in case of liver damage etc. I still get very mild breakouts about once a month.

I've been using this for about 4 months, and using tazorac for about 5 months. I've had pretty dramatic results. Mostly after I started the minocycline. As is the case with so many acne medications, it has to be used daily and you've got to be patient. I haven't missed a day of the minocyclkine and its working like a charm. the only side effect i experienced only lasted the first week or so and it was slight dizziness, that my dr. cautioned me on.

Been on it for about a year - never had acne before then 2 months before my wedding at age 28 i had a serious break-out. Went on minocin/minocycline to clear up my acne -- while it didn't clear up in time for the wedding (takes 4-8 weeks to kick in) it has kept me clear for over a year now.
Every time i go off it the acne kicks back in after a month.
Worried about long term affects though!!

I first tried this when I was about 12 or 13 and it didn't do a thing for my skin. I tried it again before I started Accutane for the first time when I was 16. Surprise Surprise it did not work...So After my second time using Accutane my doctor prescribed it to me which was about 3 months ago and OH MY GOSH GUESS WHAT? It did not work one bit. I mean if you have mild acne I am sure it will work, but for people with moderate to sever I highly doubt it will work wonders! It is just really frustrating to have your dermatologist give it to you 3 times...I mean it didn't work when I was 13...it didn't work when I was 16 so why would it work when I am 18?

I've been on this drug for about the past three years. For the first year it worked decently well, after a month or two it really helped clear things up, but it never cleared my spots up completely. I also remember getting dizzyness/headaches in the morning although they weren't that bad, I found taking the minocycline with food helped. Once I got it more or less under control I tried cutting back to one pill a day to no avail, horrible breakout within the next 2 months. However, it gets worse. In the past four or five months my joints have gradually stiffened and it has spread from my hands to almost every other joint there is in this time. Some mornings I can barely get out of bed or walk, I feel like I'm 70 years old. Went to rhuematologist, sent me in for major blood work and everything came back normal. He couldn't explain what was happening, then I read about the side effects of minocycline. In very rare cases, it can cause joint swelling/pain/inflamation, and I do believe this is what is causing all my pain. I've been off of minocycline for the past 2 weeks, and my condition hasn't gotten any worse for the first time in months. It's starting to improve, but it can take anywhere from 3-6 months to get out of my system. Please, please, please be cautious while taking this drug! And if you get inflamed joints, quit it as soon as possible. You don't want to go through this like I've gone through this.

While the minocycline did clear up my face it caused severe palpatations in what i believe was my gallbladder. i saw someone else mention heart palpatations - i went to the doctor and they said it was causing my gallbladder to go into spasms. after stopping the medicatoin, everything stopped and i got better. i am now trying doxycyline and benzaclin ... For the record -- Benzaclin has been the best topical - i have ever tried i love it.

I have been on Minocycline for almost a year, its been brilliant. I understand this stopped working for some after a year, but i used Minocycline with a combination of Proactive, it did my skin wonders. And it still is, with no side effects. I would recommend this product.
