When I first first was placed on Minocycline, it didn't take effect until a month. However, when it did start working the results were amazing. Perfectly clear skin for about a year. That is until after almost exactly a year of using it, my acne came back, and was double as severe as it had been before the medication. My dermotologist said sometimes the different anitbiotic forms of tetracycline just kick out and you have to switch to a new one :(
Now I've been on Doxycycline for a month with no results. Too bad Minocycline didn't work forever, but I highly recommend using it until you become immune, because I had no side effects.

It worked great. I was on a low dose for 4+years, however, I tested positive for LUPUS. My doctor took me off and I had an immediate severe acne outbreak. I'm just finishing 6 months of Accutane. Seems to be working, but HATED the drying side effects.

I took minocycline for 3 years. For the first year and a half my acne was almost completely gone. But the last year it has not worked at all. It gave me horrible side effects. It made me really dizzy, gave me bad headaches, i had heart palpatations, decreased blood pressure, it made me sick, it made me constipated, it damaged my liver, kidneys and intestine, i had bad muscle spasms and trouble breathing.
That was a lot of things to deal with so i decided to stop taking it. I have not been taking it for about a month. The only side effects i have expierienced from not taking it is really nasty yeast infections, depression, and facial rashes.
If you are thinking about taking this drug i suggest you not to. The side effects over power the benefits. It is not worth it at all. It does not work that well.

AFTER BEING ON THE MEDICATION FOR A MONTH I SAW SOME RESULTS, IM NOT SURE IF ITS THE PILLS OR THE COMBO OF RETIN-A MICRO AND THE BENZOMYCIN CREAMS I PUT ON MY FACE. THE ONLY MAJOR SIDE EFFECT I HAD WAS MAJOR HEART PULPITATIONS AND SHORTNESS OF BREATH, I HAD THEM 24/7 AND IM ONLY 24YRS OLD. IT SCARED ME SO I TOLD MY DOCOTOR AND AS SOON AS I GOT OFF THE MEDS 5 DAYS LATER I STOPPED HAVING THE SYMPTOMS.MY ANCNE IS STILL CLEARING UP, SO IT MUST BE THE OTHER CREAMS.
THE BENZOMYCIN IS GREAT FEELS GOOD ON YOUR SKIN, YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL IT CLEAN OUT YOUR POURS.

my doctor told me my acne would get worse before it gets better. it did the getting worse bit alright.... its just the getting better bit that this medication struggles with... and, really, that is the thing you are actually taking the drug for :O

as everyone else says, works BRILLIANTLY for a couple of months (and i mean i could eat anything, smoke anything and pretty much do whatever without fear of a single spot) but surprise, surpirse it stopped working and i had litte choice but welcome back my acne with open arms

this [censored] also makes you go bald, im not a slaphead (yet) but i did notice hairs falling out of my head at regular intervals whilst taking this.

reading the other side-effects this drug has had on these other poor people i recommend anyone thinking about taking it to enjoy the 'honeymoon' months of Minocycline then find another solution (and a wig)

I loved it, I used it with Differin gel and it helped me sooooooooo much. My acne was really really bad, especially after using neutrogena pore refining and pricking, but it cleared me up, and now i can actually go out without makeup.

For three months, I stuck with this regimen and I saw such reults. I broke out in terrible hives and even though it was quite a nuisance, I stuck with it anyway, hoping to see results. I guess it wasn't such a good idea as it's been a month since I stopped and I still have the occaisonal hive. But my dermatologis put me on Retin-A and doxycycline, so hopefully we'll see something from that combo. He wanted to try accutane but I reconsidered after seeing the side-effects.
