So if you start getting hives does that mean you should stop taking it? I mean i dont mind the hives since the medicine works. I'm just concerned something worse might happen if I keep taking it knowing I'm allergic. Apparently only 1:100 are allergic. Seems like more pple are breaking out though.

Minocycline 100mg 2x's per day cleard my skin of those pesky skin colored under the skn bumps. But I did get minor annoying side effects. I'm a small build at 115.lbs and with less body mass on such a high dose I got really dizzy and light headded all day every day. It was really worth it though to clear up. I'm still taking it and hope to intigrate AHA's and maintain the results while lowering the antibiotic.

I am 27 and I was on Minomycin (AKA Minocyclin) since I was 20. I began taking the prescribed two pills a day but after a year, cut it back to only one pill a day and my acne was totally under control. My doctor did not recommend any breaks from the antibiotic so I was on them for 6 years straight. However, a year ago, I started getting a 'monthly' pimple on my chin and I went off them. Now I have the worst acne I have ever experienced. I am thinking about going it again...

I used Minocycline 100 mg for only 10 days. On the 11th day I noticed 2 bumps on my elbow that I thought were bug bites. By the end of the day I realized they were hives.

I am surprised at how many people have had bad experiences with minocycline. I love it. I was taking doxycycline for a few months and never saw much improvement and my derm decided to try minocycline as a last resort before accutane. I can't believe the difference. Within a couple of weeks I noticed a marked improvement.I also use Tazorac a little bit, but I stopped after a few weeks because I got tired of being red and raw.

Was prescribed Minocycline 100mg 2x per day for perio-oral dermatitis. After a few days I started to really breakout on my face, neck and chest. Then I developed severe vertigo for the 1st few hours of the day I was taking it and I was very nauseous. I stopped taking the drug (on advice of my dermatologist). The nausea and vertigo has stopped, but I am still breaking out. Apparently, it takes awhile for Minocycline to dissipate from your tissues. Great . . . since I am turning 40 in one week. Acne AND wrinkles. What a lucky gal.

A year ago I was put on Minocycline (150g) with Retina A Mirco. It worked wonderfully and for the first time in my life i was completely acne free. 6 months later when I saw my doctor I asked him to put me on 100g so I could try to wean my way off the drug. 3 months after decreasing my dosage, i started to notice alot of my scaring came back. I switched off and finnished my other 150 g prescription and then when that ran out I went back on the 100g, and the same thing happened again with the reoccuring scaring. Now that I have moved, and my prescription is almost out, I have to find a new dermatologist, but I'm wondering what to do - if i should continue with minocylcine and how much - because it seems like its not a good idea to continue with it for long... but i dont know what to switch to, and i cant bear having my acne come back... so if anyone has any suggestions lemme know.
