After spending ridiculous amount of time and money trying to self medicate my bad skin, I was prescribed minocycline with differin gel by a dermatologist. It worked great as long as I kept using it, but as soon as the prescription ran out, there it was, back in all it's glory. That's when I found this site. I used the bp gel and the eucerin aha for about two months and not only did it clear up my skin, it has remained clear, even though I'm not using the bp any longer.

I have been on Minocycline 100 mg, while using Brevoxyl 4% face wash and Differin gel for about a year. My acne cleared up quite well, but when my dermatologist tried to give me 50 mg, my acne came back with full force. Also, within this one year, I've also had to battle with two vaginal yeast infections because of the antibiotic. I may have to switch to something else.

I have suffered from acne for about 12 years and tried many different treatments. I started taking minocycline and after about two weeks my skin had cleared completely. I thought I had found the miracle cure. Unfortunately it didn't last and after about a month of clear skin my pimples were worse than ever. I am now trying doxycycline and hoping for a better result - no improvement yet but fingers crossed.

I had to stop taking this drug after two weeks because I experienced one of its rare side effects: acute systemic joint pain. It was literally too painful for me to shampoo my hair or turn a door knob. It was very severe, and I missed a week of work. It took 2-3 weeks for the pain to dissipate, and two months later, my skin is still ultra-sensitive. An example: if something lightly scrapes my arm, there is immediately a welt. The welt disappears in about 30 minutes, but still...I feel like I have to walk on eggshells and not bump into anything or scrape anything against my skin. I wouldn't recommend antibiotics to anyone. Not just because of this experience, but mostly because taking antibiotics for a long period of time just isn't a good idea for your body...

i took this minocycline the 100MG and it worked very good for the first couple of weeks but in the third week i started to get itchi and rash all over my body. i couldn't even sleep for two night because of the itch. my eyes were all puffy and i could barly open my eyes. im a 30 yr old female tried tetracycline for a while with old Dr. but new Dr said tetracycline is useles unless you have large cystic type acne which i dont s o i am on 100mg a day of minocycline. just been looking on line to see if this itchy rach on my legs ive had for 3 weeks is from it. i started this about 6 weeks ago. im be happy to know it is a side effect and not some disease or bug or something! my stop taking for a week to see it it clears up. but my skin looks great hahaa. maybe its worth an itchy rash in exchange!
