I have had moderate acne for the past few months. I was prescribed oral Minocyclin and topical Duac. I experienced severe headaches and went back to my doctor who stopped the Minocyclin. Apparantly Minocyclin can increase the blood pressure in your head (benign intracranial hypertension) and cause severe headaches. BIP is really dangerous and so the drug should be discontinued immediately. Although it had started to clear my skin, I'd rather not have the bad headaches so was happy to stop the minocyclin. The duac alone is working well for me, I've had no more spots so am now just waiting for the scars to heal.

I was using Accutane at one time and it gave me clear and beautiful skin that lasted all of 3-4yrs. It worked so well and I was so pleased with it that when I started developing acne again, I asked for it by name but my doctor wouldn't prescribe it to me(something to do with new regulations). Instead, I was given Minocycline HCL 100mg, and have only used it for one month and noticed right away that it is working very well for me and I intend to continue to use it unless Accutane is granted back in use, but right now, I am pleased to say that I don't need it.

NOTE: I take the mino at night, so I have not experienced any dizziness, although, I think it puts me to sleep.

I have been on it for a week, and my acne is getting worse, although that is expected. I am also taking some creams. Clindoxyn and Differon.

i have a problem sticking with different regimens, but i gave in and stuck with minocycline for about a month now and it works not too bad. i still break out with semi-large pimples every now and then but its better than a million small ones and huge ones

I'm a 41 year old male who has had some form of acne since I was 15 years old. My dermatologist proscribed 100 mg 2X per day Minocycline after I developed perioral dermatitis. I was pleasantly surprised when my face became clearer than it has been in decades. I had dizziness for the first two days, but have had no other side affects for the month I've been in the drug.

I took Akamin for my acne rocacea and I started to feel
ill a couple of weeks after taking it. I ended up as my doctor thinks is an allergy to it and I am just getting over
erythema nodosum which is the formation of red and painful lumps on my legs. The cure was worse that the condition it was treated for.

Its' not that bad but it keeps coming back just before my period every three weeks in the same spot. got prescribed minocyclin great i thought maybe it will help, took one at night 100mg next day i was dizzzzzy and almost fainted.Listen up all u vertigo sufferers u know what i mean instant panick forget it. Because if u suffer with vertigo like i do in my case chasing my two kids and household day to day i won't even talk about work yet it will kick start your vertigo super fast. as far as if it would have worked i'm sure for me but the 24/7 dizzy spells for my vertigo sensibility forget about it.

I have been on Minocycline for only about a week now, but i have noticed zero new pimples. Although i have been on Duac Gel and Tretinion for the past 2 months, i still have seen several new pimples coming up...No real breakouts, but a few here and there. After my dermotologist percribed me this Minocycline on top of my Duac gel and Tretinion, i have seen zero new zits and the ones i have had previously seem to be vanishing much faster....I love the stuff...And also, my insurance covers it, so its free....gotta love it

Gave me stomach problems during first week or so. After that, no problems. Seems to clear up moderate/light (but stubborn) acne pretty well. I also have been using Tretinoin the entire time while on this, as well as over the counter benzoyl peroxide, but I definetely noticed improvement when i started taking the antibiotics.

Don't skip dosages, though... I accidently forget to take it one morning, and the next day, two pimples formed.
