I took this for nearly two years. It took a few months to totally clear my skin but it did do just that. Totally clear. For two years the most I had to deal with were small/medium spots that could easily be treated with topical creams (tea tree oil is good for me). I was so happy and lived the life of wanted, free and confident! I thought it had cured my skin and i carried on taking it. Anyway, after about two years my spots came back as bad as ever. Very depressing after being free for so long. Think maybe it made the new spots more resistent also as no other anitbiotics could clear me. Some made a difference, yeh, but none cleared me. The effects of minocycline are not permanent, enjoy it while it works (you might be lucky and naturally grow out of bad skin while your on them)!! Worth every pound while they worked!

I have started to used it 2 weeks ago, Before that my face was really bad, very bad pimples, it wasn't just a zit but it worst. Whatever when i start to use it, There's blood and somethings came out and i don't know how long it takes. Maybe it depends on our face skin too.

I think Minocycline is a good medication... as long as your patience is equally as good. I used it last summer and it initially cleared my skin up, but then made it break out again even worse. I bit the bullet and kept using it, and then my skin cleared up completely. When I stopped the Minocycline I didn't see another zit for over four months afterward. My skin broke out again, though, so I am back on it, and it again is a trial of my patience. However, I know in a few weeks I'll be changing my tune about it. It justs takes time.

I thought it worked really good for my skin. I was on it for about a month, last summer, and then got put back on it about 2 months ago. The only bad part, I used it for a month and I was fine. and then i had a horrible allergic reaction to it. It was not a fun time.Just be careful when you use it. and if you notice a red blotchy rash. or you start to itch, go to your doctor IMMEDIATELY! then next day i was throwing up and everything. it was horrible. so he put me on something new :-P

Headaches are a common side effect of Minocycline 100mg. I have been taking this as the generic form of Dynacin, and it works very well when prescribed twice daily. For it to remain potent, the antibiotic needs to be in your system constantly, so taking it once every 3 or so days will result in no improvement. Thus far, having been on dynacin for a year and then switching to minocycline 100mg (due to my insurance not covering dynacin any more) has greatly improved the quality of my skin to the point where I no longer have redness and flar-ups.

My doctor prescribed this for me about a month ago and it hasn't done anything. It also costs alot. I think all the pills and treatments out there dont work and are ONLY to make money!

This is the 3rd time using it again. The first time I was on it for 3 months and was clear for almost a year but then it came back again so my doctor put me on it for 6 months. It worked again but now has come back again. So now its been a week and I'm still waiting... I'm wondering how many times I am going to have to be one these for until it just stops!!!! I had a really bad headeach for a week and I find my appetite has increased but that may just be me. Other than that no other side effects.

Is it just me or has anyone else gotten oral thrush from this? It worked wonders the first time I took it, for about a year. Then gradually lost its potency. This second time around it worked somewhat but got a really unusual side effect (thrush). Then again, I'm not sure I followed the directions to the T.

I've been on minocycline for approx two weeks and my skin has gotten much better yet I have experienced headaches. Now I'm getting really ichy everywhere on my body. Is this a side effect or is it the begining of an allegic reaction to the drug.

I've read some good reviews for this drug, but it was just awful when I tried it. I normally have mild acne, but about a month after I started taking Minocycline, I broke out with CYCTIC ACNE for the first time ever. It was so painful! I stopped taking it a few weeks later and haven't had that problem since. Still haven't found something that works, though...
