| Pros: | Worked well |
| Cons: | If you use it for a long period of time, dark spots will form on your face. Sort of like scars, except not from picking. |
| Bottom Line: | I was using it with differin and my face was great. Not completely clear, though. Some small pimples on my hairline, but it was okay. Then my mom and derm. switched everything on me and my skin got horrible. Now if I switched back, it would be too weak. |

| Pros: | It does work but not as well as accutane. I have had bad acne since I was a teen and now I'm 27 years old. |
| Cons: | Please Please don't take this drug. The side effects are not worth it. I've never been so sick in my life. |
| Bottom Line: | Try accutane. |

| Pros: | Made my acne a little better, easy to swallow, can take in morning or night, didnt make my tummy upset, cheap with insurance. It was 32$ with no insurance, but 8.75$ with insurance. THANK GODD!!!!! |
| Cons: | Well.. its didnt really clear up my skin, it helped but it didnt fully take it away. Well with every pill, i always forgot sometimes LOL |
| Bottom Line: | This is a good product if you have light acne, i think light acne sufferers would benefit more. JUST TRY IT! |

| Pros: | None |
| Cons: | I took this medication one year ago and not only did it not work, but it also made me violently ill. I was nauseous all the time and vomited at least once a month. I also had moderately severe acne, so I shouldn't have been given this med. |
| Bottom Line: | Don't bother with antibiotics: take Accutane. Don't be afraid of the side effects on Accutane, they are very rare and are the same severity as antibiotics. |

| Pros: | cleared up the deep acne that retin a couldn't get rid of within three weeks. reduces swelling. |
| Cons: | you have to watch what you eat when you're on it. dairy decreases its effectiveness. you're not supposed to lie down for half an hour after you take it. |
| Bottom Line: | i had been on retin-a micro for a year, and while it had helped control my acne, i always had a couple of pimples left that were deep and hard. this got rid of them pretty much right away. |

| Pros: | I have taken Minocycline for nearly 6 years and it has proved very effective at controlling my acne and reducing redness/scarring. I cannot fault this drug as it has been a life saver for me. |
| Cons: | None |
| Bottom Line: | After having had 4 (!) courses of Roaccutane during my early 20s to tackle my very bad acne (which particularly effects my back and chest), my dermatologist prescribed Minocycline as his preferred antibiotic to control my condition. It has generally worked very well for some years and it is with much sadness that I now have to stop taking it as I am about to try and start for a family (not sad about the family bit of course, just that I have to stop taking this drug). I have had no ill side effects and I would recommend this antiobiotic for anyone who has moderate to severe acne that needs to be controlled. It significantly reduces inflammation, redness and oiliness.
Unfortunately within 2 weeks of coming off it though, the spots and redness have appeared with a vengeance. I have now been prescribed erythromcin which is apparenlty ok to take if you are pregnant. I'm hoping it's as effective as Minocycline |
