Pros:Began to work after about 1 month. I had tried many different medications, oral, topical and birth control- this seems to be the only one that works. I experienced acne only in college and did not have skin issues in high school.
Cons:Sun sensitivity; I'm already fair, so I have to be careful.
Bottom Line:Acne treatments work differently depending on the person. Obviously, it caused problems for some and worked wonders for others. I have only positive things to say about the medication and believe it's worth a try.

Pros:I've been taking it for only a week and have noticed big change in breaking out, it's stopped, except maybe one little pimple I have gotten since I took it.. My face used to be bad,got better, now it freaked out a lil again, so I took this.
Cons:Side effects suck, So far I have gotten nauesa but that went away, I then got yeast infection. (Since it can cause irritation there) I've only been taking it for a week and this just happened a few days ago. I also think I have a bad kidney as it is.
Bottom Line:Bottom line it works, and reduces redness.. but, if you want to suffer the side effects be my guest.. I might see if there's a better option for an antibiotic with not so many risks. Most people can have side affects.. Women who take this, there's high risk of vaginal irritaion because this antibiotic kills bacteria which the bacteria stops yeast infections. Weird I thought I would see someone pointing this out on the first page, maybe didn't want to let it all out.. But hey this is a big risk. I recommend this to people who don't care about side effects.. I might use it till I talk to my doctor about it to see if there is anything else effective that's an antibiotic. Insurence saved me 42.99

Pros:Helps keep the "big" pimples away.
Cons:i still break out every couple of weeks.
i can't tan!
Bottom Line:it's an alright product. i'm still on it right now, but i have never had really bad acne. i just break out a lot, then those pimples go away and my face will be clear for a couple of weeks, then i'll break out again. it's hasn't really done wonders for me...

Pros:Completely cleared acne
Cons:Once in awhile would experience dizziness and would be sick to stomach
Bottom Line:This product was my saving grace. I started this medication when I was 23 and continued to take it for 3 years. My skin cleared up entirely. I found a new Dr. and was told I shouldn't be on this drug for that long so I stopped and Acne has reappeared.

So now I am back to square one trying to figure out something else that works.

But I would recommend this product to anyone where everything else has failed them.

Pros:This product works wonders on cystic acne as it targets hormones. Results are apparent within a couple of weeks. I believe most insurances should cover the cost, so it remains relatively inexpensive.
Cons:You will still get the small acne that needs to be controlled with topical cream. My doctor told me she didn't want me taking it for more than a year due to harmful effects with prolonged usage.
Bottom Line:I definitely suggest using this product if you have problems with painful, cystic acne. If possible, this product is nicely paired with a retinol like Differin (which should keep the smaller acne at bay). Once you have procured a Rx, make sure to discuss how long you will be able to use the product as doctor's opinions may differ. I believe the medication also makes you a tad more sensitive to sunlight so be sure to have a nice SPF of 15 or 30 in your moisturizer (which you should already have!) I also had some problems after a while with eyebrow waxing (my skin was overly sensitive), but I feel like the spa was just blaming the medication for their mistakes. Overall, I really appreciated what the medication did for my acne problems.

Pros:It worked within days and I have had acne for over 10 yrs! I was bumpless for the first time since accutane 7 yrs ago. After 4 months however I'm noticing that pimples are coming on more and more...but I'm afraid to bump up beyond current 100mg bid
Cons:Within a couple days I started to get this deep itchy sensation all over. In two weeks I started to get unbearable hives. I backed off and slowly got back on and 4 months later the hives or itching has never come back! But now the efficacy is less
Bottom Line:The stuff worked for me. Never had any nausea or side effects besides strange itching and eventual hives - after backing off for a week to let my body adjust I did one 100mg pill every day, then 1 every 18 hours and then one every 12 hrs which is where I was supposed to be in the first place. Never had a side effect again and it worked awesome. After 4 months I am starting to break out again... not sure exactly what to do. The greatest part is I have no hypersensitivity to the sun which has plagued me with all of the other meds Ive tried for my acne. I'm thinking of getting off of it because I can feel its not working as well anymore and I'm also afraid of turning blue.

Pros:I am 27 and have suffered form Cystic acne since 10 or 11. I have tried every topical and Birth control. Finally at 27 I was given Minocycline. No more cysts!
Cons:None
Bottom Line:It work wonders. I began taking 2 pill twice daily for 6 weeks. Then 3 pill daily for 3 weeks then 2 pills daily for 2 weeks then 1 pill daily for a week then every other day till I was taking none. It was about 9 months before any sign of a cyst occured and when it did I began taking the pill 2 times daily for 2 or 3 weeks! I was told once you have adult acne it is always there you can maintain though. I think it worked wonders! I basically acne free now. I had no side effects at all.
