| Cons: | Can't eat dairy 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking, made my face TERRIBLE, EXTREME sensitivity to light, couldnt take at same time as multi vitamin, and makes birth control ineffective. |
| Bottom Line: | I had to tak it tib (three times a day) q8h and it worked out to be morning afternon and night. I LOVE dairy products, but found my sefl never having time to eat it because I had to work around the schedule of the pill (couldnt eve eat milk in my cereal in the morning !! Within the first week I got an extremely bad sun burn from being out side for maybe 2 hours on a day with a low UV index. It absolutely never helped with my acne. My pharmacist told me it would prob get worse within the first 6 weeks and then start to get better, and I took it for 3 months and it honestly just kept getting worse and worse until I finally decided to stop it. Couldnt even rely on my birth control anymore, even though i was in a long term mongomous relationship |

| Pros: | saw results after 3 days, redness gone away completely. |
| Cons: | nausea and vomiting like crazy and very expensive. you have to take it with a lot of food to avoid this. |
| Bottom Line: | its worth it. i have been taking it for only 2 weeks and it has done wonders to my skin. before i had crystal clear skin, and this is really worth the side effects :) |

| Cons: | My acne became much worse after taking this medication. I took it as directed and even stayed on it for a year to give it time to work. After I stopped taking it my skin cleared up so much, I didn't realize how bad this medication was breaking me out |
| Bottom Line: | I wouldn't ever try this again. I'm 25 and have moderate acne. Doryx and doxycycline both worked for me when I was younger, but don't seem to have an effect any more. I tried Minocycline and it gave me this weird deep large pocket acne. These did not raise to white heads, but stayed relatively flat and took a loong time to go away. Though I did still have the usual white heads and black heads in addition to that type of acne. After I stopped and my skin cleared a lot I noticed that I had a lot of scars and horrible skin texture which was never a problem before. I've been off of it for at least a year and my skin texture is still ruined because of it. |

| Pros: | NONE. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE CONTINUING YOUR PRESCRIPTION |
| Cons: | IF YOU ARE TAKING THIS AND A TEENAGE GIRL STOP. I too took minocycline and developed severe drug-induced lupus. Lupus is where your body attacks its own cells like they were foreign bodies. Minocycline is no longer prescribed to teenage girls |
| Bottom Line: | in the UK because of the evidence that it can cause drug-induced lupus way too much. I now have permanent damage in the joints/connective tissues of my hands. DRUG INDUCED LUPUS FROM MINOCYCLINE HAS KILLED SOMEONE. If you are taking this and experience any sort of joint pain or fever, stop immeadiately. My doctor didn't tell me ANY of this. I took the medication for around 3 months total, had fevers 5 day or more a week, severe joint pain, hives, and other lupus symptoms. PLEASE consult your physician before continuing this medicine. If I could go back, I wouldn't have taken minocycline and saved myself months of pain and sickness. There are many other medications with significantly less risk. |

| Pros: | After 6-8 weeks, I did see some slight improvement, but by then I was tired of taking the meds twice a day! |
| Cons: | Upset my stomach, broke out worse for first 6 weeks, has to be taken twice a day. LADIES: this drug and others like it (tetracycline, doxycycline) make the birth control pill less effective and you must use a backup method. For me it was too costly |
| Bottom Line: | There are probably better options out there than this drug. Minocycline, like all drugs in the Tetracycline family, make birth control pills less effective so a backup method must be used. It took a long time for me to see any results and it was frustrating to remember to take this medication twice a day This medication comes with a lot of warnings so make sure to read the information that your pharmacist gives you before taking this medication. |

| Pros: | No more breakouts |
| Cons: | old spots still there |
| Bottom Line: | This medicine works wonders. I guess my doctor should have given me something to clear up the old blemishes that I had along with Minocycline. Thankfully I don't get any new acne spots at all but I still have about 5 blemishes on each cheek that I just can't seem to get rid of. I've only been taking Mino for 2 months and it actually started working immediately. I'd recommend it to anyone. |

| Pros: | it can help clear the skin if you take it as directed by MD but i wonder if dorex works better? |
| Cons: | It can upset the stomach a bit and I hate having to take it two times a day. |
| Bottom Line: | does any one think that Dorex is better than minocycline??? (my insurance costs me 10 with mino and 20 with dorex???? ) |

| Pros: | I've been on "the pill" for my acne and that cut my acne in half. But just recently i thought i'd get my prescription filled for this and take it WITH the pill. It cleared up the other half of my acne so now I'm basically acne free! |
| Cons: | itchy face. feeling dizzy at random moments... |
| Bottom Line: | it works?! |
