| Pros: | Works well, but does not get rid of acne completely. |
| Cons: | It doesn't get rid of the acne completely, other than that, none. |
| Bottom Line: | I've had no notable side effects from this drug, but it doesn't get rid of the acne completely but it does work fairly well, I went to moderately severe to lightly moderate, but it doesn't get any better from the point I'm currently at with it at 200 Mg per day, I'll be switching off this drug soon for something else stronger. |

| Pros: | It definitely helps with adult cystic acne brought on by hormonal changes. |
| Cons: | Headaches, dizziness and nausea. Rather like an extended hangover! |
| Bottom Line: | Read the warnings and give it an informed try. The side effects are no worse than any other antibiotic I have ever been on. Use sunblock and a backup method of birth control. |

| Pros: | cant think of any |
| Cons: | nausea, dizziness, headaches, i felt "loopy" all the time.. it sucks. |
| Bottom Line: | i started taking these on a tuesday, and by thursday the nausea and the "brain rolling around in my head" feeling were too much .. I actually took them for 2 more days and then on the last day had a serious case of diarrea.. dont know if it was a bug, or the meds, but i quit taking them, they told me to cut to one pill a day, and after two days of that, developed a rash all over my chest and abdomen.. they are going to prescribe amoxycillin, but I think im done with it |

| Pros: | face stayed about the same - didn't improve, but didn't get worse either...free with my insurance |
| Cons: | body acne is worse, didn't help my face... pain to take 2 hours after eating or 1 hour before, and can't lay down for half hour after taking |
| Bottom Line: | I really don't think this antibiotic was worth my time and effort. It could have been unrelated but I'm pretty sure this caused a pulsing sound in my ears, which concerned me. |

| Pros: | The day I was prescribed Minocyline I took the pill that day. The next day I noticed a drastic difference with an inflammatory breakout on my cheek. |
| Cons: | The following week I noticed I was experiencing small breakouts all over my face, I continued to follow through with the pill hoping my skin would improve, unfortunately my skin got worse. I took a break from it, let my skin clear up with topical med |
| Bottom Line: | This is one of the first options a doctor will offer you for a topical medication, if it doesn't work with your skin I would stop taking it. |

| Pros: | My mom says that my face starts to clear up when I'm on it, in combination with topical treatments, but I don't believe it. My favorite pro: now that topical treatments have reduced my acne, I'm not even going to try minocycline again. |
| Cons: | Always slightly nauseous when I'm on it, and can't help but get carsick/motionsick, headaches. Acne comes back after stopping (even after completely clearing up in a few months) and only seems to work when used with other treatments. |
| Bottom Line: | My doctor perscribed 100MG Minocycline twice daily. It was a nice cheap thing ($10 with my mom's insurance) so she didn't mind it. My mom is the oblivious type, however. SHE says that my skin clears up when I'm taking it, so she makes me take it, but she doesn't realize that I only get results when I'm taking Minocycline in conjunction with other topical regimens; I quit taking the minocycline but keep doing the topical regimen and I get the same results.
It makes me slightly nauseous at all times and car rides are torturous - nevermind actually driving - and though I am already prone to headaches, they progress to migraines when I'm on the medication.
I've settled on exfoliating with baking soda in the morning, wearing spot treatments of Proactiv's refining mask at night, and cleansing twice daily with Cetaphil for normal to oily skin (moisturizing in the morning with Cetaphil as well). It works better AND I don't have to put anything weird in my body. |

| Pros: | None, really.
i instead took epiduo and got MUCH better results, in Less Time. |
| Cons: | Dizzyness, discolorations, weakness, joint pain.
And acne got worse after i stopped taking it. |
| Bottom Line: | Dont take this.
Tell your dermatologist about epiduo.
its New
wayy better
side effects are peeling, itch, redness.
so a little bit of itch, or dizzyness, joint pain or discolorations.

| Pros: | Gets rid of your acne at first, works really well during the first few months and especially if you havent used it before |
| Cons: | after a few months your body becomes immune to it and your acne starts to come back even worse |
| Bottom Line: | If you are going to start taking it, be constistent with every dose and once you start to break out really bad while you are on it, stop taking it, trust me and switch to something else. Miss a few doses and the bacteria become immune to it. My acne has gotten worse ever since that first bad break out. I dont know what to do with it anymore, ive tried everything.
Go straight to accutane if you can. |

| Pros: | None |
| Cons: | Took one pill and it made me so nauseated, till I just couldn't bear to take it again. |
| Bottom Line: | Pill antibiotics really can tear up the lining of one's stomach. So, definitely beware when using them! For me personally, I don't plan to ever take antibiotics again for acne. As, it just isn't worth it. I would rather go with using topical products instead for long-term treatment. |

| Pros: | works ok in addition to other perscription topical medications |
| Cons: | not a real solution, acne will come back if you stop |
| Bottom Line: | works fairly well when using topicals, not a solution by itself, no drastic effects on acne, just helps a bit.
although i didnt have it, apparently it can cause dramatic skin discoloration w/ scarring
i do not use it anymore, just wasnt doing enough |
